Introduction
In the past I have created many Zelda games..(none were finished) but If I counted the number of times I had to setup the animations for Link it would be a lot, so my solution was to setup a preloaded Zelda sprites GM7 file so if I ever had to setup Link's animations again I would simply download this file.

Contents
This GM7 file contains sprite animations for Link from the Minish cap in all directions of the listed Items below
standing
running
standing + holding item
running + holding item
throwing
lifting
rolling
attacking with sword
charged sword attack
bow and arrow

Misc
I posted this for the public to have access to this file and to do with as you wish,
no credit required.
more to come +

Your Input
Please post any Ideas and thoughts that could be added to the file.
Don't be shy to submit any animations of link you put together.
Or any other types of files you think are similar to this.
Or your opinion.

Download (165.7KB)

excellent idea wigwas, I know exactly what you mean, it's such a big pain doing it every time. mabye you could make a whole file of minish cap images and tiles? and btw, are you still making mystic forest? that was looking pretty good.

Update, I know it's been a long while but some updates.

added a usable sword animation, (the last one was wrong)
added, sword charging and sword spin attack
added bow and arrow animation

will most likely add more sprites,

nice, but the only gripe I have is that throwing isn't just backwards lifting :P, it's actually got a seperate animation, because he never bends over and only stands there to throw.

Hmmm, things that could be added....maybe adding in the swimming sprites?

Also, I think actually programming in the basic walk set-up would be cool.  :) Not any of the additional animations, just the walking system. Partly because I want to study the code.  :P I'm fairly new to Game Maker and programming, so whenever I've tried to create a walking system, for some reason the sprites don't respond correctly...I want to figure out how to do it right.  XD

I agree, it sure would help for a lot of people just starting or if they've made a lot of games. It just saves time.

I was working on a Zelda game once and I put together that animation.  I think that I got it to fit as much in the bounds as I could.  As long as it has a shadow, assembling rips into animations is easier than it otherwise would be.
