Title: Zelda Multiplayer Project
Post by: DarkerColt on July 14, 2013, 01:12:33 pm
Today i am introducing my new Zelda project, i will begin it in the built in mplay function but will hopefully convert it to a 39DLL extension.

I have plans for:
-Hosting and Joining servers over LAN or on-line.
-up to 4 players per game (having standard four sword characters)
-a complete story and game (not a stage selection like four swords)
-several extras or alternate sidequests after completing the game.
-an ini save system, that will save positions in the world.

looking for some input from the forum on what i should change. Thanks!  XD

Example Below of some differences players will see.

Hi!

Just wanted to quickly note that I moved this to Discussions as there is not a concrete plan for this yet.

So far I can't comment much seeing as there isn't much details to your game. I think it holds promise though, seeing as multiplayer is fun. However, keep in mind that multiplayer bugs are annoying and will add quite the scope to your game.

Subscribing so I can keep tabs on this project. I'd be more than willing to help you with ideas for this. Do you plan on each character fighting and/or looking similar to each other? Will it be like FSA where you have the same weapon but different items?

Each character will have there own seperate character with seperate inventories, hoping to make it so you can choose a specific look of the character. I have figured out the games storyline, and will be called loz: shadowed sands. Will reply more later got to get to sleep.

Alright then. Just a thought, if multiple full inventories proves too much or something you could always have a shared storage type thing somewhere in the world where you can go to swap out your 2 or 3 items. (Just a random number since Zelda usually has 2 or 3 at a time) It would still allow everyone to have different equipment while having access to the same stuff.
