You should try and make more things outside of the Korki forest, every previous iteration only had the forest and we never saw anything else.

It sounds like you're thinking outside the box a bit, can't wait to see it in action. I hope you go back to the portal idea, it sounds really fun and would make for some good puzzle action.

Entertainment / Re: Guns and Hookers lose: Wii Fit poised to outsell GTA4
« on: October 24, 2008, 05:01:03 pm »
It makes sense for a Wii game to outsell any PS3 or 360 game as there are more Wii in homes than those 2 consoles. The problem is that developers don't take the time to make those games for the Wii and instead do shitty ports or try to make their own game with putting as little time and effort into it, so no one buys it.

I really don't understand why they don't make an effort, the Wii has one of the largest install bases of the next gen systems, I'd be pouring my money into that system especially with such a  limited number of "core" games. Wii owners are definitely thirsty for some coreness.

I love that real time map editor idea!

Another thing that hangs up great projects(OOT2D) is the graphics. Now, I'm a relative nub when it comes to all that, but what tools could be developed to help that along? Obviously nothing can create the graphics from scratch, but what about... a batch program that takes, for example, Link facing forward and then form the 32 different directions he could face or something like that... you get what I'm trying to say?  :-[

I personally just got a Cyberpower laptop in March. Its a high end machine for only around $1100. I had a bit of an issue when trying to rush the order, but that aside everything turned out great.

I watched it recently as well, I was able to find a site that streamed the whole series. I did enjoy it quite a bit. I got the idea to watch it from someone's signature around here.

I played through the demo 4 times, at first locking on was weird, but it was simple enough to get a hold of. The gameplay feels rather smooth which is what I mainly worried about. There are a bunch of things you can do in the demo's environment, took me a while to find the little things. I cannot wait... I'm getting it for the 360, but I believe that I will pick it up in the bargain bin for the Wii later.

You've got a long wait ahead of you with a Valve game... it'll be worth the wait ;D

SH2 was a bit nerve racking, but on my first play through I got stuck in the hotel as well and after running around for that long, it did suck the fun/horror right out of the game.

I don't know about the PS2, but if you have a PS3 or 360, Condemned 2 is an awesome game, cept towards the end. But until then, you'll have plenty to jump about. :D

My laptop runs Crysis on high with a bit of lag, but barely enough to bump down the quality... I don't know if I'll rush to get this, I still haven't beat the 360 version, I have a tendency to walk away from the games after awhile and pick them up later. I dunno... but if/when it comes down to $20, I probably will and jump into the mod community. Though my PC only friend is getting it, so he may force me to get it sooner for multiplayer. o.x

I can vouch for the QTip cleaner method as well. Just make sure you have descent swab or it'll shred on you x.x

Eh, I think that GTA is one of those games that's just more suited for consoles.

Have you actually tried one on the PC? Because I felt the same way until I tried it and the keyboard/mouse works rather well and with the mods available, fun is certainly there to breathe new life into it. I personally like the total mods that add real cars and advertisements, what not.

Here's the link, I don't know if anyone around here was waiting for this piece of news, but I'm glad that Rockstar is keeping their PC market in mind. It kinda worries me that they were able to port this so quickly, but who knows how long they've actually been working on it.

Game I Love - Nobody Else Loves: Mother 1
Game I Hate - Nobody Else Hates: FF7

I have a question for you, do you like FF8? My friends and I sort of agree that depending one which of the two one person plays first usually results in them disliking/hating the other.

I.E.
I played FF8 first, loved it. I played FF7, I like it, but it took awhile to grow on me.

My fiancee played FF7 first, loathes FF8.

My friend played FF8 first, hates FF8.

Other friend played FF7 first, semi-acknowledges FF8's existence.

Is that your case, or anyone else notice that pattern?

Love: Star Wars Episode I on the PSX. From my understanding, everyone trashed the game for one reason or the next. I personally liked the movie, and this is the first game I played that had the dialog like this and I loved every bit of it.

Hate: Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. I dunno, of all the games, I never bothered to get that far in the game and I hated the time concept.
