1. Using sales to indicate anything other than sales.

2. Using a Nipponese name when an English one is available. Hell, the name is Fuggin Doragon Kuesuto in Japan. Say that outloud. fffff

3. Calling the opposing party a troll. obv tactic
1. Using sales to indicate that DQ8 did have a lot of hype.

Kondo also had something to say about someone that wasn’t a Wii Music fan…

Kondo: I know someone who saw the commercial and said it didn’t look fun.

Iwata: Who?

Kondo: My son.

Discuss.

dorakue 10 hype? on this forum? one thread with barely any replies and those replies are all trolls. that isnt hype at all

More like dascu crying that people don't like his generic boring jrpg series

The game was slow and the storyline was awful.

Madden sells a lot but I don't hear you running around saying how great it is

and it's not bukakke 10, say the english title like any normal person (american).

What are you even trying to achieve by praising Swifty with your incorrectly-executed forced meme?

Other Discussion / Re: How to use an online test to determine IQ
« on: December 13, 2008, 03:41:10 pm »
Tell someone to look up an online IQ test, and have them take it. They will surely return to you with a huge score. If they are bragging about it, surely their IQ is below average, and if they printed out a sheet saying they are a genius, they are retarded.
Seriously, !@#$% all of these shitty online IQ tests. I'm so sick of stupid people posting their "IQ" on their signatures/myspaces etc, not realizing how stupid they were to believe the !@#$%. I find that the overwhelming majority of those tests are made by novices who just end up telling you what you want to hear anyway. They make poor questions, and give poor results.
Not only are the online brand of IQ tests of extremely low quality, but IQ test in general are tremendously flawed. There are countless aspects of human mental function that you simply can not even begin to identify through test results. The idea of quantifying intelligence has also always escaped me.
I've always been stubbornly against taking IQ tests. The only one I took was at age 8, and whatever it was, it got me into the gifted education program. I did a few pages of an online IQ test, and I quit halfway through after having determined that it was flawed. I just took a few online recently, though, just to give it a shot. The predictable happened, and every result was something outrageously high, like in the 160-190 range.
I declare that we find the creators of such tests and impale them in public.
I know, right? I took one on Myspace years back for shits and giggles, and got a score of 142.

The Tickle test says I'm between 118 and 127 on average. That's the only one I think is moderately reliable, although I don't use it anymore since it's just the same questions constantly.

Remakes aren't a terrible concept—I just think it's a little unecessary to remake games that aren't even old.  I mean, the Wii can play Gamecube discs.  They should remake some '64 games, if anything.  (not virtual console, but full remakes)
A remake of Mario 64 would be terrible. I just can't see an upgraded current-gen Mario 64 retaining all its charm. Perhaps Pokemon Stadium with DS connectivity? Basically, Game Boy Tower connects to the DS (so it's DS Tower now?), you transfer your Diamond/Pearl/Platinum data over, some kind of locking system prevents you playing it on your DS at the same time to prevent complications, and then when you're done you save+transfer it back onto the DS. It sounds pretty lame, but I can't think of any other way of doing it. Unless they release a DS game reader for the Wii Remote. Hell, if they made expansion packs just to use with Pokemon RBYGSC, I see no problem with them doing it again.

The problem there is Nintendo thinks that old games need to stay the way they are, which is why they don't add new features to the VC versions. Why it's okay with GameCube games is beyond me. Probably because they don't need to update the graphics. I'd love a shiny new remake of Ocarina of Time or Super Mario 64 though.

And yeah, Ocarina of Time should stay the way it is. I don't WANT a shiny new OoT- I like the music in MIDI and Hyrule Field polygonal yet charming. Although I wouldn't mind a visual upgrade in OoT, that would probably mean they'd make the music higher quality too, taking away the sounds that made it so great.
Your old copies of the games would still work you know. Nobody would force you to play the remakes.
I'm not an idiot- but a remake becomes the current version of it, and some things are best left unchanged.

Ocarina of Time isn't what I had in mind.  Perhaps less-popular Nintendo games.
GOD YES SMASH BROS REMAKE PLZ

Jungle Beat has redesigned levels, apparently.

And it's so people will actually buy them this time around, considering how terribly the Gamecube did. Because, you know, for Nintendo to make decent games they need to be sure people will buy them. I'll probs buy Jungle Beat and Pikmin- since I missed them last time around.

Then you should be open to correction, since you got it wrong.

Maybe they should work on DQ a bit more before releasing a new one every year.

DQ has been !@#$% ever since 3.
I just realised- DQ is Madden or Fifa for the Japanese.

The only changes they made were making Piccolo green and adding Evolution to the name.

It still looks like !@#$%.
They essentially just made things just as bad as they were whether or not Piccolo was white by the name change. Wow, "evolution" is such a better name than using the name of the series it's a movie of! Cause, you know, it's so HARDCORE and AWESOME. They really didn't think things through with the name. Not only does "Evolution" indicate it's the latest one in the DB chronology when it's based off the start, it's so much easier to choose a better one. Even "Beginnings" would be better, and somewhat less generic. At least choose a name that makes sense if you're going to make it misleading.

Just got back from the ER, apparently it's a kidney stone. Although the doctor couldn't find it on the CT they took. Never had a kidney stone before, boy this isn't going to be a fun time >.<
I feel for you Fish. I'd ask for some Valiums for when the stone finally hits you-know-where.
