Feedback / Re: Suggestion to Mods about SPAM
« on: June 22, 2006, 04:09:02 am »
I am not suggesting putting the spam section into #zfgc, but I am suggesting spam being its own IRC channel.  On an IRC channel, there can also be a flood control system to stop the extreme cases.  The problem of too many people posting at once in the chat would become not really be an issue, and a chat op of the spam channel could change the topic more frequently as need be.

Then it wouldn't be spam, it would be a second #zfgc

So FISSURE, with a chat based spam all you have to do is open it once and it updates for you.  You do not even have to hit the refresh key, the chat program does it for you.  It is not like IRC is limited to only mIRC.  There is a program called Trillian which can connect to IRC, and it also allows you to have your MSN, AIM, ICQ, and Yahoo Messenger programs all in one program.  So, in reality, the chat idea simplifies everything.

Not really since that would increase people going into the chatroom just to say "lol buttseckz", if everyone does it then it's hard to talk there with all that happening. Atleast having a seperate spam board would put all the nonsense talk into one place. Allowing that much spam in #zfgc would be like making all the boards into one.

Since the server goes down regularly, I do not think that the admins should put a Spam Central on the server.  IRC is the way to go.

Not really, some people, like me hardly even use irc anymore

lol, unlocked it again. for other people to discuss, and try and help to get rid of spam...
if I was a mod, I would be running things... but not everything that I want
First, the admins run the show and the mods do the clean up.

Second:
Too bad we cannot just have an IRC channel devoted to spam.  That way we could get rid of the spam section and give the spammers something in return: a constantly updating system that works with multiple users.  Plus, because it would update so much, it would be like one big topic, and people would not spam as much because it would get boring overtime.  Then when they get bored, they could come to ZFGC to work on fangames.  If they spammed ZFGC, then they would be banned.  The problem would be away from ZFGC, yet close, and would not be in a permanent form.  Thus, funny or good topics could be saved as a chat log.  Problem solved.

You need an education on spam.

Its much more fun on a forum.
Really, even though IRC is much more dynamic and can change to fit better.  The only problem is images, but if you click a link to an image, it can be a suprise.  Plus, the rules of chat spam could be looser for your enjoyment.

With the spam forum we don't have to open another program or window just to post in spam.

AUSTIN, Texas, June 20 (UPI) -- A 14-year-old Texas girl has filed a $30 million law suit against MySpace.com, claiming she was sexually assaulted by a man she met on the Internet site.

The petition filed by the girl and her mother in Austin, Texas, alleges MySpace.com fails to protect minors from adult sexual predators, reports the Austin American-Statesman. It alleged the site does not require users to verify their age and that its security measures to prevent strangers from contacting users younger than 16 are "utterly ineffective." The suit also names the 19-year-old man accused of sexually assaulting the girl.

Hemanshu Nigam, chief security officer for MySpace.com, said in a written statement: "We take aggressive measures to protect our members. We encourage everyone on the Internet to engage in smart Web practices and have open family dialogue about how to apply offline lessons in the online world."

2D to 3D. I had actually thought of that at one time, but for a very different reason. I really don't understand why you don't like 2D graphics, but who am I to say. I enjoy my atari 2600, and back then you normally played as a square, you were lucky if the sprites had more than one color! So I guess what I'm trying to say is to me the graphics in LttP look amazing, but I guess if your first video game was super Mario 64 or something like that then I can see why you hate 2D.

Actually my first video game was duck hunt/Mario.

You have to have RPGMAKER2003. Dont blame me. Blame the company that made the rpgmaker. The midi version will be much smaller. Its coming really soon. Oh and please no one tell me to switch to a new game maker cuz thats the best i can do.

Many Apologies,
 Lex

Actually if you zip the project folder the game is in, like whatever you named the game, then people won't need rpg maker 2003, so i'm not blaming the company :P

At 41 MB's, this demo better be damn worth it.

I don't have RPG Maker 2003, zip the folder or something so we don't need rpg maker.

Ahh awesome. Do you have any screens of the PC version? I may look into it someday

I want normal dpad control Nintendo. Nothing wrong with making an alternate control scheme to games Nintendo.  Hell, even the suckage of MPH had dpad and touch screen control.

If alot of the games in the future of the DS will be like this, i wish a new normal gameboy will come out.
What's MPH?

Metroid Prime Hunters

Entertainment / Major shipment of black DS Lites missing.
« on: June 14, 2006, 08:51:30 pm »

According to PlayGadgets.com, a large shipment of black DS Lites bound for Europe, along with a stockpile of DS games, has gone missing in Hong Kong. The estimated value of the merchandise, which was sealed in a cargo container, is 18,000,000 Hong Kong dollars (roughly $2.3 million).

Some reports suggest that black DS Lites have recently entered Hong Kong's 'black' market, prompting police to suspect that the missing cargo container has indeed been stolen. Police are offering a 1,000,000 HKD (almost $129,000) reward for information about the lost goods.

Ouch that sucks. Guess alot of people will have to wait for their DS Lite's.

You should seriously beat alttp all the way through. I think you would love it. I think if it was 3d it would kind of suck. But I still love zelda games in 3d. Lots of the old 2d they did wasn't very good 2d.

Can I just ask you one thing though. You claim to be 100% serious, that this is no joke right? Why did you join zfgc? I am guessing you heard about oot being redone in crappy 2d graphics and fell off your chair then raced here as fast as you could to become a member for a long time to come. Because you cant stand 2d graphics right? It makes perfect sense! The game was already 3d which is what you love. Why would you have even come here if that was the case?

because a few years ago i wanted to see how well trm would make the transition from 3D into 2D.
