Title: Quick question about the 1st LoZ game on the NES
Post by: Trask on April 08, 2008, 06:43:19 pm
Ok, I'm at the lower far right shop and they have a shield for $130 ruppees, does it take more damage than your default shield or block more things? I can't remember and I don't want to buy it if I don't have to.

It's probably bigger, so it blocks more projectiles.

Correct.

The new shield blocks more kinds of projectiles. It not only blocks Octorok projectile like the old one, but also magic such as the kind Wizzrobes, Zora, and Ganon shoot at you. It's really helpful in later dungeons. Wizzrobes = Satan's minions in LoZ.

Get the 90 rupee shield, mang! Don't waste ya rup's! And buy the Blue Ring before you go to the first dungeon! You can also collect three extra heart containers and get the White Sword before any dungeons.
/me has played LoZ too many times.

Yes, the Blue Ring is absolutely vital, as is the blue water of life (might be red, I kinda forgot, the one that costs more works two times instead of just once).

The Red is the better Water o' Life.
