Not finished, and the cape and shading still needs tweaking.

He looks great, but its hard to believe he has any kinda of upper limbs, he needs some arms or something. Besides which, i love it, youve captured the style perfectly, the shading is great, i love the choice of colour and the sprite itself just rocks :P

Looks good OSM! Although some parts look a little pillowy, and he needs some visible arms :P. Good job though.

The face is excellent. The shading on his cape/torso needs some work though. Still, pretty neat.

I seriously don't get what's so bad on pillow-shading... if someting is supposed to be round (like most parts of his torso) it's logical to use it.

Yes, but pillow shading ignores lighting, which even round objects have. Take this example:

Even sphere and such have a lighting source. The only way you can have pure pillow-shading, is when the lighting is directly in front of the object. In this case, the lighting is more top-down, thus, the pillow-shading would contradict the lighting. Here's a more clear view plus a quick edit with better shading:

Ah, I get it... if it's that way, then I've always missunderstood pillow-shading. O_o

Thanks for clearing that up. :)
