So yeah, am I banned from the chat? I can't get back in, and it says something like [+b] which I assume means I'm banned. Is this permanent or temporary?

Permanent until the mode is set to -b, meaning the ban on your hostmask or whatever is removed.

A permananent ban for saying "faaaaaaaaaaaaaa-fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii-fuuuuuuuuuuuuuu-feeeeeeeeee-foooooooooo"? Can't say I agree with that. Sure, I said "paaaaaaaaa-piiiiiiiii" or something as well, but once I finished that I was gonna stop.

I got banned once because I was saying a game looked shitty and others were in bad moods.
Anyways, it'll blow over eventually.

Yeah chat's a little bit of a different animal than the forums :P
It's not all so bureaucratic, and it's more based on the mood of the chat at the time. Since chat is active conversation, and not like *post* *read* *post*; sometimes the rules are enforced to fit the situation. Although I'll review logs (or get logs from Vash or someone) :p

Unfortunately that doesn't work. Someone could post 10 links to porn sites and then say "After the 10th I was gonna stop, so don't ban me." As mammy said, the chat is very dynamic in rule-enforcement as certain ops enforce certain rules more then others. I personally would not have banned for that, but for personal reference as well as chatroom operator's reference, if you feel you've been unlawfully banned, or kicked, I would copy the logs, or if you can't copy them, take a screenshot. I removed the most current ban, which may have been yours... Please make sure and double-check the chatroom rules, and always consider that there are other users in the chat with conversations of their own.

if you have mirc it has a log folder, if you enabled logging the logs will be in there

You can't just join the chat like that and blurt out random crap, if you did sometime after you joined you probably would have only gotten off with a warning, but because it's the first thing you did it showed that you only had intentions of breaking the rules to irritate everyone else instead of chatting.

I thought it was an unwritten rule to ignore HB (no offense)... Anyways, now that I see the log, the ban was justified, imo, and hopefully you've learned from your mistake there.

I could understand why this was a ban. First thing you did after you joined was blurt that stuff out... No constructive chatting whatsoever beforehand, so yeah... Just watch it in the future. The chatroom is there for members to interact in real time, and more dynamically, NOT for people to vent spam.

Not gonna lie, I lolled.
But back on topic: don't just go into chat and start spamming. It's not funny, it's not entertaining, it doesn't add to the current situation, and it's not going to end up well for you in the end. That's the kind of thing you do to !@#$% off a sibling when you're a little kid, not the kind of thing you do with peers when you're older.

Yeah this ban was very justified, after reviewing logs :\...
Although Bans in chat don't usually last too terribly long, please refrain from joining and spamming... At least spend some time in the room to see how it's going first before you do stuff like that. There are times when things get a tad crazy (PENCIL IN VAGOO), but there's no possible way you could have made that assessment from the whole 2 seconds you were in there before you started doing that.
Also, I feel it's important to mention; status or reputation on the forum is irrelevant in chat, considering it's pretty much occupied and operated by people who don't browse the forums much. So joining in and expecting them to be relatively lenient because you're a long time ZFGC member just doesn't happen :P... I know you didn't assume that, but I feel it's an important point to make.
