My brother's birthday is far more exciting than FFXIV.

ZFGC used that favicon I think before the main site was brought back up and then it wasn't implemented back in until recently. I personally never had a problem with it and I'm glad it's been brought back and nobody had a problem with it when it was first put up.

Yeah, I'd remove Zelda Portal and Zelda Shrine from the affiliates. Zelda Portal is dead now and the owner of Zelda Shrine decided to make that search engine of his because he's really big on coding.

It's looking a lot better, that's for sure. I'm also liking that the themes aren't at a fixed width anymore. Did they used to be like that before the new Kokiri and refreshed Midnight theme?

Conker can go to the bathroom as well, if you play on a certain map in multiplayer.

I might get the game, I'm not sure yet though I want to save my money. I could get it for Christmas instead.

Conkers Bad Fur Day- Rated M on N64.
It was also impressive how they managed voice acting on a N64 cartridge.
That is true thought they did use the expansion pak.

I think it's a good thing that Nintendo is still staying tip-lipped. XD

Zelda doesn't need to break the patterns that make it "zelda". That's like taking exploration out of Metroid, or removing platforming from Mario. It would ruin it.
There's a whole slew of non-platforming Mario games already. XD
Yes, and Nintendo has said that it has been enough. They want to reduce the Mario Franchise back to a couple of core games, with platforming being the most prominent. That is why all the various sports games are bundled into a single game. And has Mario Party dropped the Mario franchise and continues withe Mii's in Wii Party.
I wasn't talking specifically Mario Party. I was also talking about other mutliplayer Mario games like Mario Kart and stuff. I was only joking around as well.

:P and I stand by my statement that it would ruin it XD

I seriously hate the Paper Mario series :x save Super Paper Mario, which was pretty fun (and platformery)
Don't forget about all the multiplayer Mario games too. XD

Apparently the area in the demo isn't going to be in the full game. I had my thoughts about whether it would be in or not. I'm sure there would be a similar-styled area though.

What's wrong with the BK games and PD on XBLA? All of those games in general are good.

It's not that. I love those games. It's just that when B-K and B-T were ported over the cutscenes were not synced up to the music like they should have been and there was a jiggie bug with the first game that made it impossible to beat the game without a patch. I don't mind PD by the way.
It wasn't a jiggy bug, it was a note bug. If you did Bottles' puzzle and Banjo collected a note, it would remove it from the game. I never had this issue and I did the Bottles' puzzles right after I opened the sand castle. Since there is a patch now, it doesn't really matter, especially for people who download the game now since an update in necessary anyway.

The opening cutscene in B-K was fine since the frame-rate for that game was good anyway so there was no issues there. With B-T, it was only the intro when you start a file. The reason it's out of sync is because the of the frame-rate. Now that B-T on XBLA has a good frame-rate, it makes sense it would be out of sync because the music for the intro was made to fit how the game was running on the N64 because of how bad the frame-rate was for the game. Sure it might be bothersome to everyone but it's not that big of a deal. Plus it was confirmed that it wasn't going to be fixed.

As for the music out of sync- I never noticed <_<;;
The only out of sync thing was B-T's intro video when you start a file.

Rare was better on SNES and N64, that's all there is to it. Pretty much their last great efforts last decade were Banjo-Tooie, Perfect Dark, Conker's Bad Fur Day and perhaps Starfox Adventures for people who enjoyed it. Since Microsoft bought Rare, the only games I had a liking for were Conker L&R, Viva Pinata TiP and Banjo-Kazooie N&B. If they actually manage to create a game after a couple Kinect games, then I'll show some respect to them again. For now, I can only show respect to the N64 Rare games I own.

This is what Rare had to say to keep long-time fans happy on their site:

For the long-term fans, rest assured we're not turning our back on the entire glorious sprawl of Rare history - especially with 2010 being the year of our 25th anniversary. For now, though, we're taking the opportunity to capitalise on our work with Avatars and the once-in-a-lifetime opportunities offered by Microsoft's latest system, and we have our hands pretty full with making Kinect Sports as good as we can possibly get it. We'll keep you apprised of its progress in the months ahead.

Sorry, I think you mean Microsoft.

While I agree, it's not just microsoft. It seems that the creative integrity at Rare is increasivly lacking these days. So far, their last few games were just enhanced versions of the originals or butchered ports *cough*banjo-kazooie*cough*. And then they announce a Wii sports clone? It seems that the minds behind Rare might as well not be there as well. :-\

Oh, and by the way, welcome back Mirby :)

Entertainment / Re: Thoughts on the 3DS!
« on: June 18, 2010, 03:25:10 am »
I'm looking forward to the 3DS even though I'm got the DS, DS lite and DSi. The 3DS pretty much supports everything the DSi can do. I'd probably sell my DSi if I can get my DSiWare stuff on the 3DS. I think the analog pad is a great addition. It might look silly but I think it'll work better than the PSP's nub. Apparently it works alright.

I don't know what to think of it. Kid Icarus Uprising looks really sweet. I'm not so thrilled about OOT3D and SF64 3D, mostly because I still have the originals on the N64. They really have to come with new content to be worthy of the remake.
I'm sure they would. Otherwise, what would be the point of remaking them. If they added stuff to Super Mario 64 DS, I'm sure they'll add stuff to these titles.

Quote
The graphics I think are a bit below the Wii, probably of the level of the Gamecube.
They look better than Gamecube's graphics screenshot wise. If you look at the Kid Icarus screens, you'd notice.

I think the 3D effect will the drain the battery some fierce and that is why Nintendo put the 3D depth slider on it. I would not know of any other purpose for it. The motion and gyro sensors are a nice addition. The 2nd camera on the outside I think is rather pointless. The backwards compatibility is nice and unless the 3DS uses the same type of carts, it is going to disappear after a while. Just like the DSi had no GBA backwards compatibility.
I think Nintendo said they are trying to get the battery power on par with the DSi battery power. I'm sure they'll make the battery a bit better anyway. The 3D depth slider is put there mainly so people can set the 3D to their liking. The second camera on the outside is there to take 3D pictures or something. It's going to be backwards compatible with DS and DSi so there are no worries. The game carts for the 3DS are most likely going to be the same so the DS carts can still fit.

Quote
Yes they added motion controls. If you say that Nintendo is going completely the wrong way with this. Then I would say: Don't like it, don't buy it.
The motion controls will most likely be used for tilt features and such. I'm not sure what else they could do with it yet.

Quote
o.o I only heard of touch controls. Where you getting motion controls?
It was said during the press conference and it was revealed between now and March.

Quote
My only problem with it is the money, as I'll have trouble buying all the games that look awesome.
I'm sure they would budget it properly. Right now the DSi XL is around $189.99 or $199.99. I'm sure they'd drop the prices for the DS lite, DSi and the XL. I could see it being a little over $200 but I guess we'll have to wait.

Apparently the game won't be a spacious as Twilight Princess so it shouldn't be as empty and the controls should be a lot more fun than the TP Wii's tacked on controls because it's a Gamecube game. The girl in the art is the Skyward Sword. Apparently the sword in the new art, screens, trailers and demos is the Skyward Sword and it turns into the Master Sword. Link lives on the clouds as well.

The screenshots for OoT3D (never thought I'd abbreviate that) are on Nintendo's E3 site now and I think IGN's got some bigger version of those screenshots now as well. Apparently one of the reasons of the 3DS's creation was that Miyamoto wanted to see what OoT's Hyrule Field would look like in 3D or something.

I heard Sony's conference was better than Microsoft's but not as good as Nintendo's. I bet nobody thought Nintendo would win it this year. I agree about Ubisoft's with the Rayman trailer. I loved the second game on N64. I heard EA's was better than Microsoft's as well.

Whatever. Zelda rules!

Those screens for OoT 3D look sweet and it'd be nice to play the game on the go. Majora's Mask definitely deserves a second chance on the 3DS. Imagine how the game would look in 3D. :)

Zelda looked pretty awesome. I guess the rumor about it being cel-shaded was right. I always wondered if they'd make a game that style. Nintendo did good this year.

As for those Zelda rumors: http://www.zeldainformer.com/2010/06/breaking-news-latest-zelda-wii-rumors-confirmed.php

There were also rumors from yesterday that said Zelda Wii is going to be cel-shaded. I saw it on Hyrule.net. Apparently, Nintendo showed a small trailer or something in a private thing but then again, it's just a rumor.

The only thing that interested me about Microsoft's conference was Black Ops and the new Xbox 360. I love how it's only called Xbox 360, not Arcade, Elite or Pro, just Xbox 360. Kinect looks okay but I'll have better thoughts about it after I see Sony's Playstation Move later today. Chad Warden should be calling that controller a dildo.

I'm still surprised they didn't reveal this back in the day. Ahh well, it's nice to see some classic art again, something we don't see often these days.

I guess nobody here pays attention to what goes down in the Zelda community.

http://www.zeldadungeon.net/2010/04/100-pages-of-zelda-artwork/

If by "Zelda community" you mean "zeldadungeon.net", then yeah, you're probably right.

That page has the exact same scan that Master Yoshi's pic was cropped from, anyway, no higher-res images, unfortunately.
By Zelda Community, I mean all Zelda fan sites including mine and others. I don't know if ZFGC would be classified under that anymore.

ZFGC is a Zelda Fan Game site, not a Zelda Fan site. It's never been about bringing in information regarding the Zelda universe. You're confusing journalistic sites with development sites.
It's a Zelda Fan site that focuses on Zelda Fan games. Like how ZREO is a Zelda Fan Site that focuses on Zelda Fan music.
