It didn't really feel like a metroid game, Sure it had Samus, it had her weapons, but it doesn't feel like i was playing a metroid game a lot of the time.

I didn't have to get abilities, they had to be "authorized"

The whole concentration crap, feels like they put in Concentration to give the game a false sense of being hard, instead of picking up missiles and health by destroying things like certain enemy attacks and enemies you had to apparently use samus power of imagination to get her health and missiles back.

All the Matrix dodging of attacks and the One Hit Kill attacks, seems like it would fit more into Ninja Gaiden then Metroid.

Not sure if one of the earlier cutscenes was supposed to be funny but i found it hilarious. The one near the start where Samus remembers her and all the marines on the battlefield, everyone has the same black suits on, and here comes Samus in her bright multicolored power suit, it was just so out of place.

Maybe the scenes near the end would of been more emotional and moving if i didn't already hate Adam for the whole "authorization" crap. I hated the authorize crap, it made me hate adam, so his little scene had no emotion at all to me, it was more so a "whatever get on with the story' scene.

Maybe it would of been fine as a nameless Action game, but it didn't really feel like a metroid game a lot of the time.

So by now if you're a Dragon Quest fan, you know that Squeenix has decided to make Dragon Quest 10 for the Wii and Wii U(Still a stupid name) an MMO. This, is a stupid decision.

I played the hell out of Dragon Quest 9, clocking in around 180 Hours, i love the game. It's simple and it's fun. Best yet, i am able to control my whole party and control all of their actions.  Squeenix has stated that the first few hours of Dragon Quest 10 will be able to be played offline, but then after that you have to play online. That's not good enough Squeenix, i don't want to play online at all.

Squeenix has said that you can still hire A.I. party members and play the whole game yourself online, without other people, though you can only control your Main Character. The party members you hire are A.I. controlled. That is horrible. I'm not sure if any of you have played a Squeenix game where the A.I. controls your party members, but they are always on the brink of stupidity.  There has not been one good Squeenix game where the A.I. controlled anyone good.

Case in Point:

4 Heroes of Light DS: you get to let the A.I. pretty much decide who uses the items and attacks you choose on what. What made me hate this, is when i fought the final boss. I had a party, 2 Warriors, 1 White Mage, 1 Black Mage. So i am fighting the final boss right, and of course my 2 mages die. So i decide i can revive the white mage and let him start healing, then revive the black mage.

So i pick the Phoenix Down, but it doesn't let me choose who to bring back, who do you think gets brought back first? That's right, The Black Mage, so the black mage gets revived, and the boss automatically attacks and kills him. So i use a Phoenix Down again hoping the White Mage will be revived first, nope. The black Mage gets revived yet again. This happened around 3 more times, each time it revived the black mage. Somehow eventually i managed to beat the boss.

Final Fantasy The Crystal Chronicles: Rings of Fate: In this Crystal Chronicles game, you eventually get a party.  Long story short, the party literally never did anything against bosses, they would literally just stand there while i was attacking the boss.

So yes Squeenix, thank you for turning what good of been a good game, into some crappy MMO.

Entertainment / So i beat Last Story for the Wii. (SPOILERS)
« on: March 24, 2012, 08:54:04 am »
So i finally beat Last Story for the Wii.

It wasn't a bad game, it was pretty much a basic action RPG with a few different elements thrown in. The game is split up into different chapters. There is one main town in the game, the whole game takes place in the town and the surrounding area's. Well i mean there are different places, like dungeon type places, but there is one actual town. There are a few side chapters here and there. You'll realize that you missed a side chapter since the side quests have their own little chapters, so say the story goes Story Chapter 5, Story chapter 6, Story chapter 7, Side Chapter 8, Side Chapter 9, Story Chapter 10, 11, etc Then you will finish Chapter 7, if you continue with the story it will go to Chapter 10, Basically If it skips a chapter or a few chapters during the story, the skipped Chapters are Side Quest type chapters. I don't think any of them are really missable, so you could probably complete them at your leisure.

There doesn't seem to be many different types of Armor in the game, not from what i could see, the only armor i really noticed was the starting type Armor. There may been more so don't quote me on that since i can't remember which armor we started with lol. There are a good amount of different weapons though that you will pick up.

Both the Armor and Weapons are upgradable.A lot of the weapons at first only cost money to upgrade, but after a certain amount of upgrades then some Weapons will require certain items to get stronger. Armor on the other hand always require different items to upgrade. From what i've seen all the armor seem to require Gnome Items to upgrade, Gnome Copper, Gnome Silver, and Gnome Gold. Gnome Copper you can seem to get pretty easily, especially from the Summon circles.

As you go through dungeons and such you will see red summon circles on the ground, if you use Zael's Gathering power it will activate the Summon Circle, which will summon enemies for you to fight. You will get experience, gold, and sometimes items from these battles. i'm pretty sure you can do these battles as many times as you want. Sometimes a harder enemy will appear when you activate the Summon Circles.

While it is a basic RPG, Last Story does difference itself from other Action RPG's, specifcally Zael's Gathering ability, and the fact that you can hide behind stuff, and pop out to slash the enemy doing more damage then you would normally do. It also implements some stealth elements into the story and gameplay, but they kind of annoyed me sometimes.

Overall it's not a bad game, it's a hell of a lot better then Final Fantasy: The Crystal Bearers. The Voice acting is pretty good, i don't mind it. I love a lot of the music in the game, the music is pretty good and seems to fit whats going on at the time it's playing, The story is decent.

NOTE I DID NOT USE A SPOILER TAG, SO SKYWARD SWORD SPOILERS ARE IN THE BELOW TEXT

I'm a huge Zelda fan, i like Zelda games. Would i replay this game? No. It took me around 45-50 hours to beat, not doing many quests and not doing boss rush. Some things during the game didn't make much sense.

I liked the music, the music was nice pretty much through out the game. Is the Wii a graphical powerhouse? No, but i liked the graphics, the graphics were pretty nice. I didn't mind the gameplay, but some of it was annoying.

My thoughts.

The final boss fight was pretty cool, i liked it, though not really sure why Demise looked like Akuma or Blanka from Street Fighter. I actually laughed when he appeared since he reminded me of them so much. I liked the way Demise and Link had a stairdown, and how only a few people Link, and Groose stood up to Demise, it was but i liked it. The music fit it.

The Controls - Now this is a downer. The controls weren't that bad sometimes, but others they were extremely annoying. A few times during boss battles like with Demise or Girihim the Wii Motion Plus would screw it, it wasn't because i was rushing or anything. It's just a fault with the Wii Motion Plus. Another thing was the camera, the camera was pretty wonky, especially with the lock on, during the Horde battle, i ran down to the archers and hit lock on and it locks on to the enemies behind link that i'm not even facing.

The Flight Controls with the bird weren't bad, they were pretty easy to get used to and use, though having to flap my hand for the bird to flap his wings was annoying. My hand was getting pretty tired through the Horde battle, though i did like the battle. I hated the swimming, swimming with the Wiimote was Irritating to say the least, especially when using the control stick would have been so much easier and more intuitive.

For the most part the game was enjoyable, i say for the most part because there were some parts i hated.

Silent Realms - Yes, i hated the Silent realms, they weren't that hard, but they were annoying and i didn't like them at all, it reminded of the collect 15 tears crap that i hated in Twilight Princess because of crappy Wolf Link, who i also hated. There was literally no reason for me to have to do a 4th Silent Realm on Skyloft, I don't see how collecting 15 little water droplets should allow my to gain the Ultimate power of the triforce. They could of easily replaced the the Stupid Silent Realms with actual smallish dungeons if they actually used the rest of the dang map or made it bigger.

I had to revisit the same places during the story, 5+ years working on this game, they could of easily added more Dungeons and more area's instead of using the same places over and over again.

Though i did like that pretty much all the dungeons were worked into the story, and link went into them pretty much when he got to place, seemed more Story Centric since link had to pass through continue on. Seemed kind of like they milked the omg 100 hours thing for all its worth. You can Dual Layer Wii discs, there should of been no reason they couldn't have added more content to the game.

It's nice to see Nintendo putting in a NG+ type mode, but they still managed to screw it up. For one you have to pick right at the end, right there if you want to delete everything you just did to start in Hero Mode, and you can't actually save on a different save slot so you can go back and complete quests, look for the cubes, etc. Seems like a very basic thing for Nintendo to screw up.

Like i said, while i liked the game, a lot of it was enjoyable, i would of given it probably a 10 if it didn't have so much Fluff and if the controls didn't screw up, I don't want to say give it a 6, but 7.5 seems about right. It just seems like they could of, and should have done more with the game after all the time it spent in development.

Entertainment / Demons Souls + Royal Class = Win
« on: August 14, 2011, 02:09:56 am »
I bought Demons Souls awhile ago and found it to be really hard, eventually i stopped playing it. Picked it back up again about 2 weeks ago and started playing as a Royal Class, it really is easy mode for Demons Souls, It gives you a lot more leeway on enemies and such then you would usually get with other classes. So far i've cleared almost all the levels and bosses. I'm loving it.

Chrono Trigger is coming to the PSN, like it wasn't on pretty much everything else already.

Great one of the most overrated ***** games gets released again, CT and we can't get legend of **** dragoon on the PSN.

Also i'm glad i can say this here, where everyone won't throw a !@#$% fit and mod me like on gamefaqs.

http://ca.kotaku.com/5797890/nintendos-next-console-will-enter-the-hd-era-but-not-the-hard+drive-era

The console, codenamed Project Café, will include 8 gigabytes of on-bard flash-based memory, presumably for game storage. That quantity, while nearly 16 times the storage capacity of the Wii, is smaller than the 20GB of room available in the original, optional harddrives offered in 2005 for the Xbox 360. The amount of memory in the new Nintendo console would also be dwarfed by the 250 GB drives offered in current, high-end versions of the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.

XFD Nintendo, i know how fast my 20 GB goes down on the 360 with our 20 GB HDD with just downloading demo's. Oh Nintendo, Why yall Dumb.

Trying to force myself to play through Shitom Hourglass. I;m already sick of going through the same damn Temple, getting the same keys every time. It's not as fun as Nintendo assumed it would be. Hopefully the new game will have real Analog controls, to make use of the Analog stick they put on the 3DS.

I swear, if Shiggy decides the next Zelda game needs you to revisit the same place, going up the same floors, getting the same keys, while dodging enemies you can't kill, then they need to put him in a home because he;s getting senile.

- Have Battle Points

-Lose Battle Points after each battle

- Lose Battle Points by running from battle

- Base attacks on a grid system, where the weakest characters are usually the ones that can attack the enemies

- If a person dies and you don't revive them in 3 turns, they can never be revived during that battle

- For those 3 turns leave their ******* body in the space so i can't actually move other characters into that space to get an easier shot at attacking the enemies.

It's really a good thing i only payed 7 bucks for this game at gamestop, i would be so pissed if i payed $60 for this crap game.

Of a gimmick honestly.

Pretty much one of my eyes isn't fully functioning, had surgeries and such, but still is pretty much useless when i;m not wearing my glasses. I don't bring my glasses out when i go out. So i tried 2 different 3DS demo units with Pilot Wings. No dice, tried moving around, moving the 3DS, changing the slider, nothing changed for me.

Though to be fair when i do eventually get one i planned on pretty much keeping the slider all the way down anyway. While my glasses do make my messed up eye usable, no clue if it will change the fact that i can't see the 3D effects.

Honestly i'm actually starting to get annoyed with the whole "gimmicks" nintendo seems to do with new things. The Motion controls were never really that fun on the Wii, only games i really enjoyed with Motion Controls was Wii Sports, and probably Skyward Sword, if it plays good.

For the DS a lot of the time i found myself trying not to use the touch screen unless the games specifically called for it. I don't mind a lot of the touch screen games i've played, though the only thing new the 3DS adds is better stuff on the inside, an analog stick, which felt very nice when i tried Pilot Wings, and the 3D effects.

Honestly do the 3D effects really add anything new besides pop-out or the box view i assume Pilot Wings has based on the picture at Gamestop. I'm not saying it's a bad thing, but whatever happened to just regular gaming, now even the NGP wants to add Touch Screen and act like it's something new.

I;m actually pretty worried about the Wii 2 at this rate. I guess this is more of a why do companies insist on adding "gimmicks" to things that really don't need it.

I'm not against the 3D effects, just that not being able to see the 3D effects kind of made me see the 3D as more of a gimmick then something that would improve general gameplay or the experience of the Handheld. I will still be getting one, because of Persona 3DS, Resident Evil, the good one with a story, not the Mercenaries crap., and other games i want

Entertainment / 3DS apparently plagued with Black Screens of Death
« on: April 01, 2011, 08:38:59 am »
http://www.vg247.com/2011/03/28/3ds-black-screen-of-death-error-reports-creep-in/

3DS “black screen of death” error reports creep in

Reports from multiple users suggest the 3DS is suffering from a recurring crash issue, across multiple titles.

Posts on NeoGaf, AVForums, and DigitalSpy are reporting instances of the freshly-christened “black screen of death” error requiring a hard reset of the system.

Super Monkey Ball, Street Fighter IV 3D, Pilotwings, Ghost Recon, Lego Star Wars, and Mii applications have all been mentioned in connection to the error.

Some users have found the issue is resolved by the reset suggested on-screen, while others have reformatted their SD cards to FAT-32 format and eliminated the problem.

Others have had less luck resolving ongoing crashes, and have resorted to returning the console to the retailer for replacement.

We’ve reached out to Nintendo for official comment and more information.

A new console/handheld with problems, oh what fun.

Though it does look a little like the screen that happened with flashcart users and the DSi.

Good to know Nintendo is on the ball with errors..

Australian Customs and Border Protection Service adds refused classification fighter to blacklist; copies detected to be confiscated, fines up to A$110,000 issued.

What a ****** joke Australia is with games. Ban a game, ban importing it, fine people for importing it. Funny what Australia bans their legal adults from playing.

When i heard it was like a Zelda game, i was intrigued, so i decided to "get" the game. Ran into a battle, and watched as a cloud of smoke and tingle fought without me doing anything, Yeah bye bye game. How the heck do people find a battle system where you literally don't do anything fun? I'm not watching a movie.

Entertainment / Fable is slowly becoming not Fable.
« on: December 28, 2010, 10:06:49 am »
I'm a fan of the Fable series, one of the games we got for Christmas was Fable 3. I haven't played a lot of it but so far it's somewhat annoying.

- Fable 2 had a nice expression wheel which made selecting different expressions easy. In Fable 3 you have to click Interact with the person, then click the expression that comes up until you get the one you want, either that or continually press B to go back and hit interact again and hope that the expression you want comes up.

- You no longer use EXP to level up spells, melee, and such. In Fable 3 you use the Main Road of whatever to spend Guild Seals on chests containing "Melee 2", "Magic 2", etc.

- Remember how Fable 2 had a nice list of Spells to choose from, where you switched back and fourth between them on the fly, oh not in Fable 3, In Fable 3 you have to switch "Gauntlets" to use different spells, which means every time you want to use a different spell, you go into the Sanctuary (more on that soon), go to the door you want, weapons, armor, etc, then run up to the Weapon and hit equip, yeah......

- Remember Health Bars? Oh none of that in Fable 3, Fable 3 has taken the route of EVERY !@#$% NEW FPS and made it so when you are near dead the screen boarders turn Red..... Yeahhhhhhhh.

- The Sanctuary, Remember how Fable 1 and 2 had Item menu? And menu's in general, oh not in Fable 3, In Fable 3 we have "The Sanctuary" a giant room filled with other rooms where you walk around in, There is a room for Armor,  etc. You either run up to that specific room that you want, or use the Dpad to switch rooms fast, but it stops becoming fast once you realize that you have to run up to the Clothes/Weapons and click on them to equip them.

Peter how the hell are you allowed to do this to your own damn Game series.

Also his main thing he was showing off about the game in previews was the ability to "Hold Hands", How in the hell is that a High Point in a damn RPG?

So far i am enjoying Fable 3, but honestly i am worried to see what Fable 4 will look like if this continues.

79
Wii disc and plastering a $30 price tag on it. !@#$% yeah Nintendo. That's how we celebrate a game Anniversary, overcharge for a Super Nintendo game, not oh say create a compilation full of some of the different Mario Games like Donkey Kong, Mario Tennis, Mario Golf, Super Mario Kart, Mario Kart 64, hell no, putting an 18 MB game on a 2 GB Wii Disc, great way to save space and money1

Entertainment / The Giant battles in Bowsers Inside Story are stupid.
« on: December 09, 2010, 08:45:35 am »
- Force me to blow into the mic every time to do bowsers stupid flame attack

- Send 50000 lightning clouds at me that destroy bowsers HP while making his little fireballs run out

- Make the clouds go Right to Left, i am Right handed so i can't hold my hand comfortably during that part at all and not have my stylus hand pretty much blocking the screen showing where the clouds are coming

- Make the !@#$% battle timed.

FU Nintendo
