Entertainment / Golden Sun: Dark Dawn.
« on: December 07, 2010, 11:01:41 pm »
Just recently beat the game, while it was pretty fun, it was definitely way too easy. The puzzles were a joke, and 99% of the boss battles were incredibly easy. I just kind of expected more then i got out of it.

Entertainment / Movies: Monsters and The Next Three Days
« on: December 07, 2010, 05:05:55 am »
I recently saw two movies, one of which i really liked, the other which i didn't like at all.

Monsters: Pretty much a reporter takes an american through ah infected zone full of Aliens, sounds like some form of an action movie right? Well you'd be so wrong. You see the actual monsters around 3 times through out the movie. With maybe 2 action scenes, barely. It is honestly the most boring movie about Aliens that i have ever seen.

The Next Three Days: I enjoyed this movie, a lot. It was full of suspense and the music they put in the scenes really helped make it work. It definitely is a good movie for anyone who wants to see it, you will not be let down.

Entertainment / Just beat Golden Sun 2 (Spoilers)
« on: November 07, 2010, 01:10:23 am »
After many many months of procrastinating  GS 2, i finally beat it, got lucky during the final battle >.>.

Watching the ending, and Alex's possible almost immortality and his almost unlimited power, it seems like they were hinting at a 3rd game possibly coming, i'm assuming having to do with Alex trying to get unlimited power and such. And here we are with dark dawn, like 6 years later lol.

It's pretty much a MMORPG device, i don't think this is gonna end well.

Entertainment / The 3DS has a release date.
« on: September 29, 2010, 08:07:43 am »
http://kotaku.com/5650652/the-nintendo-3ds-has-a-release-date

fter months of speculation, Nintendo has today revealed the launch date for the new 3DS handheld at a press conference in Tokyo.

And that date, at least for the Japanese market, is February 26, 2011. The 3DS will retail there for ¥25,000 (USD$300). Two colours will be available at launch: "Aqua Blue" and "Cosmos Black"

Release dates for the European and North American markets were not quite as specific, Nintendo saying that the handheld would be out in the West in March 2011. No pricing details for these regions were disclosed.

Entertainment / FF:CC, Now Final Fantasy XIII, 2-2 with Stupid A.I. Squeenix
« on: September 29, 2010, 08:04:59 am »
I like playing Final Fantasy XIII, i really do, just that i have some issues on Square's stupidity.

It seems the healing A.I. in this game is just extremely stupid. Every time i see someone complain about the A.I. medic's lack of healing abilities, i see someone else come in and say "well that's why you have to be the healer". I don't think so. I really shouldn't have to be the healer because my party members are too stupid to do it correctly.

There is also the issue with the fact that Square-Enix seemed to have royally screwed up Healing abilities and items. Cure, Weak healing that heals 1 person, Cura seems to heal almost the same as Cure but heals all 3 party members. See up until this game Cura has ALWAYS healed a lot more then Cure. They choose now to compensate for that, while keeping the enemies and bosses at doing damn good damage to me, Come on. A lot of the issues with Healing seem to all stem from the fact that Cure and Cura don't do nearly as much as they should, Especially Cura. You pretty much keep the move the same for like a billion games, and you chose NOW to change it up?

Then we have the Healing items, or should 1 healing item, the Crappy, oh so crappy Potion. The worst item that has always healed the Worst in FF games, is now the only healing item, Yes, i do have the Doc or whatever item that doubles Potions healing, It still doesn't help sometimes. while i still have my crappy Medic's failing at healing, you ain't helping at all Square-Enix.

Then we have the Leader, oh the wonderful Leader. If the leader dies, it's game over. If i hated when that happened in both Persona 3, and 4, Why in the hell would i love it now? Persona 3 also has issues with Stupid healing A.I.'s.

I like this game, i really do, I just have a few issues with what Square-Enix decided to do. I just really need to get this off my chest.

87
Are stupid, i thought the A.I. in RE: Zero and Persona 3 was bad sometimes, this game honestly puts them to shame. I don't know if there is a hidden "make your party less stupid" option that i am missing, but they really seem to be idiots. I was fighting a boss enemy with a partner that throws bombs that can explode, the enemy was hovering off the ground, the A.I. apparently can't use the jump button, because every time he would just run straight into the enemy, not doing a damn thing. I switched to him, used his main attack, surprise surprise it hits the enemy just fine if it's hovering, which the computer couldn't seem to use.

Just got another party member, ran around, found an enemy, they decide that instead of attacking him, they will run around in front of him, only attacking once i pushed them close enough that their bodies touched his. This is shameful on the part of Squeenix, the hell did they do.

Tales of Innocence is a pretty fun tales game for the DS, it just needs a damn dungeon map system.

Ah Bamco, the company i love to hate. Why must you !@#$% up all of the time.

Entertainment / 3D movies just a way to milk more money out of people?
« on: September 08, 2010, 04:44:43 am »
Over time movies have gotten more and more expensive to go and see. Years ago they tried the 3D move trend, eventually stopping them to play normal movies. Now 3D is back with a vengence. Am i the only one who think's 3D movies are pointless? Maybe it's the fact that i haven't actually gone to see a movie in 3D, but i really feel no need to. Seems like a novelty. One that makes movies more expensive to go see.

It used to be that Theaters would make the brunt of their money from the Concesion stands, not anymore, now its both that at Movie Ticket prices that you have to pay extra for just so you can use 3D glasses for an 1 and a half.

Avatar
The Last Airbender
Paranaha's 3D
Resident Evil Afterlife 3D
Saw 3D

Plus i'm sure movies i'm forgetting. It's getting to the point where it seems you will be spending $40 on tickets just to pay for the movie, not counting food and drinks, if you decide to buy them.

Entertainment / Dragon Quest IX

I'm enjoying DQ 9 a lot, it's a pretty fun game. Although so far the story is mode is pretty easy, it does have side dungeons with hard bosses, it also has downloadable quests, while you can download them anytime you unlock the Wifi shop, a lot of them seem to only be completable once you complete the story. A new downloadable quest is added every friday i think. They wifi shop also has special stuff you can buy, some are pretty rare items i think.

Entertainment / So Mafia 2 is coming out, why.
« on: August 23, 2010, 01:22:56 am »
What's the draw of the 2 Mafia games? I'm trying to work my way through the first one. So far it seems like a bad GTA style game where you have to actually follow the speed limit, and the traffic lights. Didn't know i was suppose to mimic real life traffic laws while i'm running around in the mob killing people.

Entertainment / Midway Games:"Lets **** up games that ruled.
« on: August 17, 2010, 08:34:59 am »
I loved Gauntlet Legends and Dark Legacy, they were both great multiplayer games, then Seven Sorrows came out.

I loved Dark Legacy, it was a great multiplayer experience, me and my friends played the !@#$% out of Legends for the N64, then i got Dark Legacy for the Gamecube when it came out, and my brother joined in on the game, it was !@#$% awesome to play. Legacy was like Legends, same basic thing, except more levels, new bosses, the runestones, mirror pieces, The items, Getting to level 99, The changes that happened to your characters every 10 levels. Both versions of Death, Health and level stealing deaths. The big ass Main area where you when to all of the levels, just going around and seeing the types of levels you would eventually be able to go to, God damn so !@#$% amazing, i love Dark Legacy so much.

Then Seven Sorrows came out, took out the Death enemies i think, never noticed them in it. Took out the big main hub area, took out the buying and selling items. Took out runestones, the mirror pieces, summoner, took out any real reason to try and gain levels. Added like a billion attacks to use. In legends and Legacy you really only needed 2-3 attacks, Normal attacks, and the special attacks, you really didn't need anymore.

Seven sorrows was the one game i really bought that i was honestly disappointed in and hated, it just wasn't the same. Why couldn't they just do what they did last time, Take the basic Legacy game, keep some of the bosses, some levels, Add new levels, add new bosses, heck even possibly some new characters, and it could of been fun. If it's not broke, don't fix it midway.

Tales of Graces F

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/07/28/tales-of-graces-f-heading-to-playstation-3/

Jump magazine revealed Namco Bandai’s big Tales announcements. The first is a PlayStation 3 port of Tales of Graces called Tales of Graces F.

Tales of Graces F adds special moves, extra story scenes, and a new costume for Sophie to the 2009 Wii game.

Tales of Graces F is scheduled to come out later this year, during winter time.

New Tales Game for the PS3:

http://www.siliconera.com/2010/07/28/your-first-glimpse-at-a-brand-new-ps3-tales-game/

In addition to announcing Tales of Graces F, Shonen Jump also released the first image of a brand new Tales game.

Other than the illustration, Namco Bandai did not release any other details about their upcoming Tales project. The name, release date, and genre (usually Tales games get “something related to the plot” RPG as the genre) are still a secret.

Whenever this Tales title comes out it will be the first Tales game to debut on the PlayStation 3.

Either one of these actually seems to have an equal chance of coming here, Bamco does seem to try and bring at least 1 tales game on a console outside of japan, except the ds, !@#$% bamco.

Entertainment / That's it, I'm !@#$% done with Sony.
« on: July 17, 2010, 09:33:08 am »
Well Sony's finally done it. There were few things that I was relying on to keep me happy. Their classic logo, their clean website, and hope for the TRUE Killzone-Threeie. But recently, Sony changed their classic logo into something I could have made in Illustrator in under 60 seconds and changed their site into some cookie-cutter microsoft !@#$%. You may think I'm overreacting, but there's !@#$% 360 avatars EVERYWHERE. And to make matters worse, their "revolutionary new Playstation Move" is a blatant rip-off of the Wii using the ball on top of a stick.

It goes to show that there are some game companies that almost try to further isolate themselves from their fans. Sony was important to me because the first 3D game my virgin, 8-Bit eyes ever saw was Super 3D Frisbee . From then I was hooked. Staying over at my friends houses to play Super 3D Frisbee and Digimon World, oh, it was like a dream.

You see, we had just moved in to a new house and I didn't have many friends, so I played my friend's DVD's. I made friends with the likes of Guy down the Street, Homeless Jacob, Sandwhich Frita, Pip the angry poodle, and Moon Man, an aged man who thought he lived on the moon. Those crazies filled me with happiness, they gave me something to look forward to when I got home. We were pretty poor at the time, too, so new games were a bust. Things were even worse when my friend left his job at ACME. Imagine Fish sandwiches every day. Blech!

But then on Christmas of 2000, I received my first 3D console, the playstation 1 along with Digimon World. My friend was employed at Xerox and made pretty steady pay, and we were happy. I have such fond memories of sitting at night in the glow of the TV, the sound of crickets from outside. There was nothing like it. Agumon and Myotismon became permanently embedded in my mind.

But alas, all good things must come to an end, ya? Sony had announced production for Digimon World 5 for ps2 and me and my friends were so excited. But then, news of a buy-out by Adult Toys flooded the internet, and made me pretty upset at the time.

So, yeah. I'm !@#$% done.
I'm sorry I wrote so much, I just hope you understand my feelings on the situation. Feel free to share your thoughts below.

Doing what Bamco decided not to, Absolute Zero stepped up and decided to translate Tales of Innocence for the DS.

The translation is very good, so far i'm liking the game, although the dungeons are annoying crappy.

It apparently continues the story from Part 2, with Multiplayer.

Hopefully it's not $60, but it most likely will be.

Entertainment / Well Resident Evil 0 is pretty annoying.
« on: April 20, 2010, 12:44:34 am »
I hate the fact that there are no item box's, so i have to drop and go back to repick up items, key items included, Seriously Crapcom? SERIOUSLY.

Strike 1

If i leave a room too fast the game sets my partner to Solo instead of team and keeps them in that room, Yeah, really fun.

Strike 2

The Partner A.I. is stupid, Rebecca and Billy are standing in a hall, both are facing one way, the zombie slowly made it's way towards billy from his side, and bites the heck out of him, while doesn't even try to stop it, all while being set on attack

Strike 3 Crapcom

again the biggest complaint, having to drop, and go back to the rooms i drop my items in just so i can carry a new item, or a new key item, because all the items are set on the same inventory screen. Plus the fact big items like Shotgun's and Grenade Launchers take up two spaces.

Crapcom, not one of your better choices.

Woo, new pokemon games, we're back to colors.

I'm sure someone will find a way to try and use the new games to start a race war.
