Title: A game you love that no one else loves? A game you hate that no one else hates?

So, what's a game you love (I mean really love) that no one else really loves? And, what's a game you hate (I mean really hate) that no one else hates?

I'd have to say I really love Balloon Fight for NES, because I'm so good at it and I'm obsessed with the concept. It seems to be terribly unpopular with everyone else though. And I love Snowboard Kids and Mario Kart: Double Dash!!

As for hate, I really didn't like Metroid Prime: Hunters on the DS, and I really didn't like Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty. I'd say both had uncomfortable and inconvenient controls, and a lot of the concepts in MGS2 really threw me off.

I don't know about how other people feel about these games, but I like FF Mystic Quest and hate Adventures of Dino Riki.

I love "Aidyn Chronicles: The First Mage" for N64.  There's a few people out there who are passionate about it like me, but most people have either never played it/heard of it, or they think it sucks.

I loved Uniracers for the SNES because it was fun to play and do tricks, I hate Kirby Canvas Curse because to me it felt like it raped the series (I would have said Air Ride, but no one really likes it that much, I might have also said Sonic Adventure even though it had that cool NiGHTS pinball game in it).

I like Air Ride, although I prefer the platformers much more. I exclude Canvas Curse from that because it has more of a puzzle feel to it.

I wouldn't shoot you Mammy for that. I like the classics as well. Heck Dragon Quest still uses the turn-based battle. So does Digimon World: Dawn. Anyways, turn-based is where its at. You don't get raped while choosing a spell or an enemy to attack.

I agree with both of these. Uniracers was an excellent game, and Kirby Canvas Curse was a terrible game.

I also really loved to play "Mashed" on Xbox.

Love GUNDAM Crossfire for PS3.  No one else gave that game any love.
Oh and the long forgotten AD&D and AD&D 3rd games....Baldur's Gate and II, THE UNDERAPPRECIATED ICEWIND DALE II.  THE NEVER TALKED ABOUT BEAUTIFUL GAME CALLED NEVERWINTER NIGHTS II.

Hate?  Any games that have the words: Def, Jam, Halo(besides the first one ^^).

I never thought it was a good follow up to Mario World.  SMW was a game I grew up with, and have played, bought 3 times, and played again over and over.  Yoshi's Island was a severe disappointment.

Actually I really don't like the GTA games either :/.

I was actually sort of hyped for GTA4, and I got my friend to bring it over and I played it all night. By the end I was like, "what am I even doing?" I don't disagree that's a well-made game, I just don't get the thrill of wandering around in a real-world-styled environment and doing real-world things. It doesn't excite my imagination at all, and I just failed to enter into the diegesis, as they say.

Good thing I borrowed the game before I made the mistake of buying it @_@.

And i hate Halo 2&3 (the first one showed so much promise... the 2nd was nearly ok, but the third...)
Also although its not hated, Mario Sunshine is my favourite Mario, which is apparently wierd.

I like Galaxy the most of the 3D ones; shooting Goombas is fun! Sunshine is my second favorite; spraying Piantas is fun!

I just love Isle delfino. Its amazing. And the FLUDD was pretty awesome. The sttory was a bit weak, but the game was amazing. And the water graphics/effects...

There are many games that my friends in real love that I absolutely despise, though I'm guessing many here would agree with my hatred.  Does that count?  If so:

- Sport games, all of them.  If you want to play sports, do it in real life.
- Gran Turismo series.  The same goes for this one, I don't want realism like this.
- WoW, and all other MMORPGs. I prefer a coherent storyline over player interaction.
- Star Fox series.  I was never really able to get into any of games in the main series.
- Halo series.  I don't necessarily hate it, but I think it's highly overrated.
- Animal Crossing.  It bored me.
- Pokemon. I used to like it, but now it just pisses me off.  Every one is the same.
- Harvest Moon.  I used to like it, but, as with Pokemon, 95% of them are the same.
- Fire Emblem and all other SRPGs.  I like strategy games and I like RPGs, but for some reason I hate when they're put together.

Games that I love:

- Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. It's not that people don't like these games, just most people haven't played them.
- Shenmue series.  The same situation applies to these two.
- The Power Glove. I love it, it's so bad.
- Star Fox Adventures.  Most didn't like this because it didn't fit the series. I did.
- Zombie Nation.  Have you heard of it? No you haven't, but it's awesome.

...and, uh, that's all I can think of right now.

I love all those except the power glove (never tried it) and if you mean the NES Zombie Nation, I love that.

There are probably a lot of examples of games that I love and everybody hates, but the first one that comes to mind is Turok Evolution. It's just a generic looking FPS on the surface, but it is deeply flawed with glitches and laziness around every corner. I believe that Turok Evolution is the only bad video game that creates the same kind of enjoyment that you get out a good bad movie.

The funniest thing? Tobias Bruckner, the final boss. I have never laughed so hard. A redneck with a robotoic arm riding atop a tusked T-rex armed with flamethrowers. He chases you around like a lost puppy while yelling offensive remarks. "Get on your feet savage, it's time to dance!" ..."Hahaha, where's your warrior spirit now?"...and the best one..."This isn't the end you know, there's always going to be somebody like me to HUNT YOU DOWN!"

There aren't any super popular games that I don't like, at least a little bit, but I am in the camp that believes Resident Evil 4 is way overrated.

Love: Star Wars Episode I on the PSX. From my understanding, everyone trashed the game for one reason or the next. I personally liked the movie, and this is the first game I played that had the dialog like this and I loved every bit of it.

Hate: Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask. I dunno, of all the games, I never bothered to get that far in the game and I hated the time concept.

I have a question for you, do you like FF8? My friends and I sort of agree that depending one which of the two one person plays first usually results in them disliking/hating the other.

I.E.
 I played FF8 first, loved it. I played FF7, I like it, but it took awhile to grow on me.

My fiancee played FF7 first, loathes FF8.

My friend played FF8 first, hates FF8.

Other friend played FF7 first, semi-acknowledges FF8's existence.


Is that your case, or anyone else notice that pattern?

First off, I agree with Domo on the hated games except for Pokemon (I like RPGs) and SRPGS (I like Fire Emblem/FFT(A[2])). And Star Fox (I like Star Fox Command). And Moldrill, I love Mother 1 (It should've been released; it was already fully translated!). I like both FF7 and FF8. Each has its merits and flaws.
FF7:
Merits - Limit Breaks, Materia
Flaws - Chocobo Breeding System (cool, but I don't like it.)
FF8:
Merits - GF Ability system, Return of Blitz (Duel, and its a Limit Break)
Flaws - Too realistic in the beginning and Chocobo system (really, what?)
See? These are all my opinion of course.

Love: Contact. It's a very unique and stylish DS game that most gamers never heard of. It was created by the God king Suda 51 himself. I played through it twice, and unlocked everything on Wifisland.

Hate: GTA. GTA IV doesn't look bad, but all the rest are horrible, shoddy, pieces of !@#$% that get boring after about five minutes.

Really love: Prince of Persia - Warrior Within. Not the best example because a lot of people like it, and not many truly hate it, but almost everyone says it's the worst of the trilogy. I find it to be the best of the trilogy for so many reasons.

Really love: Anything and everything for Virtual Boy.

Really hate: Zork series. Can't think of much that most other gamers don't hate as well. Some series like GTA, Final Fantasy, and similar stuff never attracted me. Nor did any Metroid for that matter. But I still recognise the qualities in them.

Love: Chrono Cross

Yes, I love Chrono Cross, possibly my favorite PS game, why people don't like it confuses me. My favorite part is the battle system for some reason, it's more complex, but requires much more strategy than other RPG turnbased battles.

Hate: Halo (Series)

I just don't get it... what's so fun about it?

Never played FF8. Looked just as bad as 7 really. 9 is the way to go.

Really, if you ask me, the one thing that ruined Red Steel was the unbelievable amount of hype behind it. It was O.K., but Ubisoft made us think it would be revolutionary.

Moldrill, I just have a few things to say about FF8. FF7 had a few realistic CG sequences. 8 uses them whenver a new party member is introduced and also uses them flawlessly with the normal models for some scenes (such as the parade at the end of Disc 1 from the rooftop). It also brings back limit breaks, but they are randomly available when HP is critical, and even then are optional. The GF system is quite similiar to the Esper sytem from 6, except that GF's level up with you. Lastly, you get paid in FF8 depending on SEED rank, as opposed to getting gil from battles. And each character only has one weapon that is remodeled at junk shops. But 9 is the way to go. Who would've thought a game that originally was going to be a sidestory would have this much success?

Hes so right, dude.  It gets boring way to quickly..  I don't know why, but it just does.  I could play San Andreas for a while without getting bored but this game?  No.  It fails.

I love Omikron: The Nomad Soul. The only other person I've ever met who likes it is a troll of the highest calibur, under the alias of Hitomi Kagewaki, who is my frequent nemesis.

Fun fact: that game has a total of 101 levels in it; that's more than Super Mario World has. It actually featured wall-jumping and more of Mario's cent new moves. Mario vs. Donkey Kong is like a sequel to Donkey Kong 94. I like that game, and MvDK as well.

TheForeshadow: Neverwinter Nights II was never talked about because it sucked and didn't at all live up to the first Neverwinter Nights game. NW2 was a buggy, boring mess.

Anyway, well...I liked Shadow the Hedgehog for the PS2 *ducks and covers*

I'm gonna assume you meant Donkey Kong 64.  :­P  I like that game, but at the same time I don't.  It has a lot of nostalgic value for me, but it's really not all that great.

I agree. Donkey Kong 64 was a really well-made game, just not that enjoyable. Like Twilight Princess (for some people).

Also, I hate FF7, I think Melee is better than Brawl, and that Pokemon Gold/Silver/Crystal were the best Pokemon games by a mile.

I agree in that FF7 is not my favorite FF, but I don't hate it. I just dislike it compared to 8 and 9. The battle bar and stuff; give me transparent hideable menus or give me death! Or just put them on the bottom screen as in FF4 DS!

I hate* Mother, Team Fortress 2, RPGs with a few exceptions, most sport games.

I love Starfox Adventures, Killzone (well, like atleast), TWW, TP, MM, etc.

* Hate is a strong word.  I would like to replace hate with "would prefer something else over"!

I love the entire game, except maybe the Water Temple which is more of a love/hate thing

No one seems to like Majora's Mask :/. Which is sad, because it's one of the very best Zelda games. It's also sad because the extreme disliking means Nintendo will be less likely to take the series to new places like they did with Majora's Mask. And I want another Bomber's Notebook-type thing >_<.

I liked MM, it was a fresh take on the gameplay. Also, it was weird to see some "evil" characters from OoT be benign in Termina. Such as Koume and Kotake.

I love Majora's Mask (N64), Banjo-Kazooie (N64), and Dark Cloud 2 (PS2). Both were great games and very addicting. MM will always be my favorite. Banjo-Kazooie was and is the greatest game ever. The game-play was great and there were a lot of cool worlds like Freezeezy Peak and Click Clock Wood. Dark Cloud 2 was a really good game and a major improvement over the first game. The Georama system was ten times better and you had more control over it and the fact that your weapons don't go away after the wHp goes to zero is good. I liked the graphic style as well. Some other games I love are the Paper Mario games, Dark Cloud, Banjo-Tooie, and Conker's Bad Fur Day.

Games I hate? Hmm... Well, there's one game I don't hate but I don't really like and that would be Ocarina of Time. I know, out of all games, I say OoT. It was a good game but it just got boring after a while. I just don't get anything out of it. I prefer Majora's Mask over this game anyday. I guess I hate Forza Motorsport (Xbox), Evolution Skateboarding (GCN), and a few others. Can't really remember which other games at the moment.

The game-play is exactly like Ocarina of Time though just with some new aspects that makes it even more awesome.

I've never played FF4, but I've seen tile rips and I love the graphics.  I have a soft spot for those old-timey SNES graphics that look like enhanced NES graphics.
