Discussion / Re: Which Language; C++ and C#?
« on: October 29, 2007, 02:19:20 am »
score for cpp!

C# is a fantastic language. the great thing about Microsoft is they provide a lot of developer tools this just work. I have the privilege of owning a copy of Visual Studio 2005 and it makes working with C# a breeze.

C# works wonderfully because Microsoft has gone the "don't reinvent the wheel" route. this allows us to develop powerful applications quicker, with no fussing with complex GUI code.

this said, I think you should learn C++ before C#. the wheel may have been invented already, but it is important to know how and why it works. Knowing where you came from is just as important as knowing where you are going.

Lastly, in forgetting in a language you should never aim to master it. Start off with the basics, see what you can do with those, and then dig a little further. if you think you understand how programming works, move on to C#.

Discussion / Netbeans IDE
« on: December 24, 2006, 07:41:52 pm »
Although, I have not used Netbeans in over a year it is a decent compiler. I had a few issues with version 5, but now the latest version is 5.5. I haven't seen a link to any other compilers except dev C++ so I thought it might be usual for some people to know about this one. It is a Java compiler, but there is an add-on pack for C/C++ and what I found to be even more interesting, there is one for mobile phones.

I hope it helps:

Discussion / Re: i wanna learn C!
« on: December 08, 2006, 12:41:11 pm »
Although C is a very powerful and portable language it is very difficult. Object oriented languages really started coming into light with C++ so you will be forced to stick with structs instead of classes and dealing with memory with extreme pointers. If you don't really have any programming experience besides gamemaker and you want to quickly learn how to do all of those things you should obt for programming on your home computer with C#.

Well I cannot take credit for those colors, I actually got them from moffermn. I just think the layout of invision was better organized than that of smf. Things just kinda seem messy here.

Zelda Projects / Re: "Ocarina of Time: Gb" Demo 3.1 Released!
« on: December 01, 2006, 04:11:29 pm »
I was very impressed by your demo, I did notice a bug though. If you exit a house and don't press the down arrow key, you will continue to move down. A few things bothered me mainly just the edge thing...It would be a lot better if it wasn't as sensitive, and maybe implement and hanging on feature? I hope to see music and sound for the next release, and navi have more implementation instead of always saying "SEE THE GREAT DEKU TREE!" Overall, I liked it alot and played with it for over an hour without even noticing the time had gone by. Keep up the great work.

I thought National Treasure was a great fun movie. I am a history buff so I can't wait to see what the sequel is like ( maybe an actually good movie rendition of the DaVinci Code? lol )!

I don't see why you would include a .cpp file either...
but...
Code: [Select]
#include "funcCubeVolume.cpp" ?
