Entertainment / Re: Ura Zelda Project (Have you seen it?)
« on: February 07, 2013, 11:36:55 pm »
Not that I'm aware of... but man it hypes me up so much! I never thought of doing things like that before. Imagine what I'd be able to do once I've mastered coding and have a team dedicated to a more personal game! If the devs won't make a remake of OoT and MM with TP graphics, what's to stop me when I get that good? Sure I can't release it but it would be considered a fan game.

Honestly, I think that's a fantastic idea.

Wow! I think it looks fantastic. Are there any other patches from other developers that have been released for OOT that extend the game or change temples? I would love to play one right now.

Technically not an anime, but a couple of weeks ago I was introduced to Avatar: The Last Airbender and watched the entire thing in a week. It blew my mind how amazing it was. To me, there are only two things at the ultimate level of fantasy story and that's Zelda and Lord of the Rings. Avatar is now the third. Completely amazing if you haven't seen it. I was depressed for about a week after I finished it because it was so great.

Entertainment / Re: Just not interested in new Zelda games anymore

It's so interesting. I thought I felt the same away about Zelda as you foreshadower. I didn't even play Twilight Princess because I couldn't get into it. But I bought a Wii just for Skyward Sword. At first I didn't think I could get into it. It was really difficult to play and the music didn't seem as good as the other games. But I kept at it. It was like learning how to play video games again. I remember when I first played Sonic the Hedgehog 2, I sucked so badly at it. It was the same with Skyward Sword. As I played, I absolutely fell in love with it. I think it is the 2nd best Zelda game of all time following Ocarina of Time. It completely blew my mind. After playing it, I feel like I can never play a regular controller based Zelda game again. Actually shooting with the bow and really fighting with the sword. It was incredible. I also really grew to love the story. This Zelda game made me feel for the other characters like no other game had done since Ocarina. I didn't give a !@#$% about Link's sister in Wind Waker or any any of the characters in Majora's Mask. In this game, I actually cared about Groose and his development throughout the game. What separated this game from the rest was the development of the characters. It was like a movie. I absolutely hated this guys guts but grew to love him as a character. Right when I finished the game, I was super bummed because I knew that the experience was over. I wanted to play it over again immediately. It was definitely a lot different than past Zelda games, but I felt it evolved the series in the drastic way that Ocarina evolved it from A Link to the Past.

Zelda Projects / Re: [DEMO] The legend of Zelda 3D Flying Rooster
« on: December 02, 2010, 11:07:04 am »
This looks like an extremely original concept for a Zelda fan game. I am super impressed and cannot wait to play the demo. I've been replaying Ocarina of Time over the past two weeks and one of the things that I realized that makes it such an incredible game is that every weapon that you get really matters. And each time I get a new weapon, I feel excitement that I get to use this new thing that is necessary to the rest of the game. I hope that you can somehow implement that into the game. I feel like this is what the newer Zelda games have missed out on. Not only traditional Zelda weapons, but some new ones that haven't been in any Zelda games before. It looks visually stunning and the engine that you've created in Game Maker seems very nice. Your work is very beautiful.

Awesome guys! Any language that you guys want to use would be fine. Do either of you guys have aim or go on the chat? I don't go on aim anymore, but maybe we could figure out a time that would be good for all of us to meet up at either there or in the chat. And sorry it took me two days to respond. The last two days were extremely busy.

Hey, I'm looking for somebody to help build me a web page. It doesn't have to be a fancy php page or anything, just an html page that looks nice and gets the job done. This is for my band. If you're interested, let me know here and we can talk about it in the chat.

Oh?! That's great to know. That was keeping me from playing it. Maybe I'll pick it up sooner then. Thanks dude.

I tried playing it on the Wii. I couldn't stand collecting those little !@#$% scarab things. And whenever I had to fight an enemy, I was too lazy to flick my wrist. So I said !@#$% it. Maybe I'll try it on the Game Cube one day. Plus, the wolf thing sort of freaked me out.

Thank you. I appreciate the advice. Do you know if there is a way to actually map out the composition in fruity loops? I feel like if I don't plan out the exact length of a piece, then, whatever I initially recorded is the length it HAS to be.

Sweet, that would be awesome. Just to clarify, I know it may not sound like it each note is on rhythm, but that's sort of what I was going for. Any advice on where I should go with it, or how the structure of the piece should go would be great.

Very fugazi influenced.

That's awesome.

Last night, I started to mess around with soundfonts. I had only edited it using the piano in the program, but I actually created a basic background thing using the computer keyboard. I learned a lot last night from going around and reading all of your topics and the other ones in this section. Reminded me of years ago when I would look at all of the GM topics and try and learn all of the tutorials. I'll show you what I came up with if you're interested.

I like the first one, because the intro sounds really beautiful with the harp and the flute. But I LOVE the second part where everybody says it starts to sound dissonant. I don't think it's that dissonant at all, but I do love dissonance.

Also, I wanted to ask. The Wind Waker songs are in 9/8? That's pretty cool. I would never have realized it.

I just heard the updated one. That's an awesome change. What program are you using to make these?

I need sprites. If there are any bugs, then please let me know. If you get stuck somewhere, just ask. It might be too hard. It goes to rivendell. Tons of zelda sounds and sprites used. I need sounds. Ignore the first error, it's because I'm missing an mp3 from my old demo which I haven't gotten back yet. I have no clue who's engines/resources are used. Half of this is from four years ago. Thanks to Cfisco, Mim, Joefess, DM, DJ, etc... Thanks guys. This isn't finished but I've got to quit until I get some help.

Holy !@#$%!!! FW!

First of all, hey! Man, you should go in the chat sometime.

Secondly, if you have any files that I made or we created together, if you could get any of them to me, that would be greatly appreciated. I basically lost every file that I ever had and I'm trying to get them all back. :( Remember Zelda Tactics Advance? FSGB, WWGB, OOTGB, etc...

Wow man, it's awesome to hear from you. We need to chat.
