seriously, the N64 was the best thing to ever happen.
I just hooked mine up and went to play half an hour of OoT, spent nearly 4 hours on it. And this thread isnt saying that OoT is great (although it is) but that there is no console i have fonder memories of then the N64. I Love the 360 and Wii, but i just dont feel the magic anymore.

Too bad the SNES is superior in every way (well except technical specifications).

Yeah, I know what you mean. There's just something about all goos N64 games that just makes them so much better than games that have been out for this generation. I think the Gamecube was awesome, too. From launch it was nothing but fun for me every time I played it. Don't get me wrong, SSX Blur and Mario Galaxy are great games, but they just don't have the magic of SSX Tricky and Mario Sunshine. You feel more connected, in a way, to what's going on. Every time I used to play a new game I had a blast, but I just don't get that same feeling anymore. I think Red Steel did it for me, but that's about it. I could sit around playing my N64 and Gamecube at night, not caring that I wasn't with my friends- I never got bored. But now I'm never as sucked in, and if I am, I don't feel anything. It's not just Wii either- it's the same for my 360. I suppose you could say I just can't connect anymore, but every time I boot up SA2 Battle, I can play that thing forever and never get bored. The poor camera doesn't bother me, I don't even think it's bad. Sure, it looks kinda crap compared to say GTA IV, but when I play Metal Harbor I still get a rush. You just don't get games like that these days, that you can just pick up, play, and and be not only entertained but filled with content that it's all worth doing, and that you know you'll come back for more.

Dreamcast > N64.

It really just depends what you grew up with.  I went from NES -> Dreamcast, so the Dreamcast is my baby :D

Gameboy > everything, but like Limey said, it's just what you grew up with.

I was angry when I found out the DS wouldn't let you play GB/C games. >:(

No. I hate Paper Mario. (Even though it's on the list. Look harder.)

SNES and Genesis are my babies.

And the DS (with an R4 so I can play NES and stuff on it) is my total baby.

Also, PERFECT DARK IS FREAKING AMAZING. I used to play that for hours with my friends. Sadly that's the only N64 game I could ever love, save Majora's Mask. (OoT is good, but I don't like it near as much as everyone else)

Yeah, the N64 was amazing. So many good games for it (and, as was said, a lot of memories). I just liked everything about it, right down to the controller and huge cartridges.

Also, Chippermonkey: Finally someone who agrees with me that Majora's Mask was better than OoT!

I love OoT and MM almost equally. It's too hard to decide which is my favourite.

I don't really have a favorite console.  I see past that and just enjoy the games.  I mean OOT is my favorite game, but MGS is a close second.

Im not sure wether i prefere OoT or MM, i love them for different things. OoT had an epic quest that in my opinion had never been paralleled, but MM had so much depth.
I grew up playing Mastersystem, Megadrive(genesis), N64, dreamcast and a bit of playstation, but N64 had the most magic. I would write a list of games, but Shefali already did...
