Spritecraft (Sprites made in perler beads)

(Perler beads are small plastic beads you put on a small pegboard to make a picture, then put a special paper on top, then iron them together)

Anybody else ever made any of these?  Here are the ones I've made so far:

Ness (from Mother 2/Earthbound)



Snake enemy (from Mother 2/Earthbound)



My big project:  Mage guy from the gba fire emblem games.  My board was way too small for this, so parts were done seperately then put together later XD)



I'm still making more and I'll update this topic, but I need to order more beads of certain colors first :)

Also I can try and take requests if you like, but there are often problems with some sprites... for example, there is only one shade of grey with these beads XD  I end up using the transparent color as another shade of grey, which actually looks fine with a white backround.

U Win! I love the Mother Series! I wish I new how to do that/had the material to make those. I would totally make Ness, Paula, Jeff, Poo, Ninten, Lloyd, Paula, and Teddy!

Well I like earthbound a lot, and my best friend is a mother-nut, so I plan on making a lot of mother sprites :)

i have bindeez, they're similar but you can also make 3d objects with them. they're little plastic spheres that you put on a board, spray with water, they go all sticky, then dry stuck together. I think my cousin has some of those things though.

Risk of sounding stupid aside wtf is Mother? anyway cool perler bead art! I used to mess around with those I once made a 4'x4' mat (can't remember what was on it xD I think it was Mario)

Mother is the Earthbound series. Earthbound is actually Mother 2, and Mother/Mother 3 were never released in America (fan translations of Mother are called Earthbound Zero).

The site where I bought them is down, but this site seems to have all the same things.

It's not hard at all, it's just like reproducing a sprite pixel by pixel.  The hard thing is figuring out if you have all the right colors, then the rest is just horribly time consuming XD

Also some sprites end up huge, when you didn't even realise that they were so detailed... Like I didn't know the Fire emblem sprite would end up as big as it was.  It was actually bigger than my 6x6 pegboard, and I had to do several parts seperatly then attatched them carefully.  I'm buying some more pegboards, ones that connect together, and I"m going to buy a bunch of the beads that I need more of, so I'll be able to do big scenes :D

you can get a perler kit from a local art store, you can also buy bigger 'perler boards' I think i still have my old 18" board somewhere.

Actually, the game was fully translated by Nintendo. But it was sadly never released due to the time it happened(http://starmen.net/mother1/).

Anyways, since Earthbound is freakin' PSI Rockin, you are freakin' Rockin too! Great job!
