There's not a whole lot else to say about it right now, but so far this is the best title announced at E3 from Nintendo thus far, (IMO).  Golden Sun is....well, golden.  I'm awaiting further info on this, hopefully it's not a hoax or something.

Feedback / A useful function for the Graphical Arts forum...
« on: May 28, 2007, 02:16:30 am »
When trying to critique pixelart and sprites, it helps to see them up close.  As of now, the only way to do this here is by saving the image to your computer and magnifying them in another program.  It's safe to say that this is a pain in the arse.

At many pixel-art related forums there is a function that allows you to double click on images and they are automatically enlarged for easier viewing.  To see what I mean, here is an old thread I made on gmpixel:

http://www.gmpixel.com/viewtopic.php?p=8795&highlight=#8795

Notice that when you click on the pixel-art, it enlarges.  Also, each time you click it and the size increases, there is no loss of quality or JPEGy-ness.

I'm not a coder or programmer, so I have no idea how hard it would be to create and implement something like this, but I think it would be VERY handy to have here.

Wow, that gameplay footage is looking pretty smexy.  It's nice to see some developers out there who actually TRY to get the most out of the Wii...It's twice as powerful as a GameCube, but most of the stuff that's been coming out looks worse than a good looking GC game.  Thank you Square-Enix.

I can't wait for this one.  Now discuss.

Entertainment / Heroes Season Finale Discussion
« on: May 21, 2007, 11:48:01 pm »
I know I'm not the only fan of the show here.  I want to hear your theories on what you think will happen on tonight's episode, and then in an hour and a half discussion/reviews/etc.

This is what I think will happen:

The bomb WILL go off, but not in the city.  It will happen in the air to prevent major destruction.  Maybe Nathan grabs them before the explosion and sacrifices himself at the last possible moment.

Parkman dies, Candice dies, Nathan dies, and one other probably.  Maybe DL.

I think that there's a chance that DL absorbed Linderman's power in the last episode if he ends up living through the episode, but maybe not.

Sylar lives somehow and will be in season two.

Also, I have a hunch that Hiro goes back in time to feudal Japan by accident or something towards the end of the episode.  Maybe not, but I have a hunch.

I think we'll find out more about Hiro's dad, and also the Petrelli's mom and dad.  Hopefully we'll learn about their powers.

Okay, those are my theories.  Now I want to hear yours!

(NOTE: Once the episode actually starts, make sure to put spoiler warnings.)

Other Discussion / Anybody good with Networking? I NEED HELP!
« on: May 09, 2007, 06:50:05 pm »
I just bought a new router so I can have wireless internet on my laptop, but I'm having some problems. My laptop picked up the signal and connected, no problem, and says that the signal strength is excellent.  It sends stuff out, but it's not recieving anything. Look:

I haven't been able to access the internet or anything else obviously, and I'm starting to get really frustrated.  I think it's a problem with the default gateway or DNS server because when I tried to ping them it timed out everytime.

I'm a novice when it comes to networking and I could really use some help.  I don't know what other info I should put up to help you help me, so you'll have to tell me.  HELP!

Feedback / Any progress with the site?

I'm just curious as to how far along everything is and when we can expect to be able to access it. Also, what type of content is there going to be?  That is all.

EDIT:  Also, can I buy some hearts with my rupees?

Entertainment / Resident Evil tech demo's for GBC and GBA
« on: May 02, 2007, 09:19:45 pm »
Do any of you remember when they were making a port of Resident Evil for the GBC or later on when they were working on a port of Resident Evil 2 for the GBA?  Both projects were scrapped early on in development due to the technical limitations of the handhelds, but what they were able to accomplish is damn impressive.

GoNintendo posted videos of both games here: http://gonintendo.com/?p=17185

It's really cool to see what could have been.  The GBC version looks pretty bad, but at the same time it's amazing that they were able to do it at all...Really impressive stuff.

The GBA one looks amazing, almost as good as the original version. Notice that there are no enemies or anything in the video.  I'm guessing it would be damned near impossible to get multiple characters, much less any of the bosses, on screen without the game slowing down to a crawl...That's probably one of the bigger reasons this one got scrapped.

Entertainment / What is this passage for??
« on: April 11, 2007, 06:40:57 pm »
Towards the very beginning of the game there is a small passage to get to the Ordon spring.  It's only open at the beginning, and is closed off for the rest of the game after you go through it.

Why is it there?  It seems sort of out of place having it blocked off for basically the entire game.  I figured that once I was wolf Link I would be able to dig up something cool inside of it, but no such luck...There's no way to break open the little door on it.

Maybe I'm just nitpicking, but it really bothered me that it was there but I couldn't do anything with it...

Entertainment / Xbox 360 keyboard attachment
« on: April 10, 2007, 06:05:35 pm »
Apparently there is a keyboard attachment currently in the works for the 360.

I think instant messaging between PC's and other 360's is already confirmed, but this makes me wonder how long until we get some MMORPG's for the console.  I'd think that'd be possible anyway...I mean, the frickin' Dreamcast pulled off Phantasy Star Online.

Also, this makes me wonder whether this be exclusive to the new "Elite" 360, or all 360s.

What do you guys think?

Graphics / Official Art Gallery Thread
« on: April 09, 2007, 01:00:34 am »
Post a link to your art gallery for all to see.  I've seen a couple of yours already, and I'm guessing that some of you have already seen mine.  Either way, post a link to your page so we can all look...and stuff.

This thread is not just limited to deviantART galleries.  If you have a gallery elsewhere, (Flickr, FurAffinity, SheezyArt, a personal site, etc.), I encourage you to post it here for all of us to see.

Also, in the event that you have any artistic nudity or anything else that might be considered offensive in your gallery, please put some sort of warning in your post.  Thank you.

Entertainment / Portal
« on: March 21, 2007, 11:11:03 pm »
Portal is a FP action puzzler being made by Valve.  I believe it takes place in the Half-Life universe, though its not really a shooter.  It looks like a blast to play - very original and almost surreal.

I'm guessing by now most of you have already viewed the trailer for this, but if not you can watch it here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oeUjVkJ7seY

Also, here's a preview from GDC that IGN did recently on the game: http://pc.ign.com/articles/770/770988p1.html

Personally, I'm really looking forward to playing this game.  Hopefully I will be able to run in on my computer...I can play Half-Life 2 with all the effects maxed out, no problem, but that did come out a few years ago.  What are your thoughts on this game?

Graphics / Some of my newer drawings...
« on: March 08, 2007, 10:21:14 pm »
I haven't really done a whole lot of drawing lately.  I really should, but I just haven't felt the motivation to do anything for awhile.  Anyway, here's a few of my newer drawings:

Enjoy.

Graphics / Domo's misc. zelda art and sprites
« on: March 04, 2007, 08:47:09 pm »
Here's some various sprites and art I did in the past.  If anyone wants to use any of them, feel free, just let me know.

A vector I did by eye using pre-existing art, for practice:

A vector I did for Dayjo.  InvaderLupus colored it, so you'll have to ask him for that version.  Also, please ask Dayjo for permission before using this one:

An incomplete spritesheet I made for a fangame I was making at one point:

Doodle:

ZFGC signature I made:

Misc. Link sprites I guess:
