First time it happened, my brother called in and the guy just said to unplug everything. We did that and it worked again. Apparently, if you get the red ring with 1 red light, then it's done for. Number of flashes, number of rings, where the rings are, etc are all factors in the error code. Just because you get one doesn't mean your system is done for. Logged

At a guess, I would say it misuse perhaps?
If you were to wrap it in a towel, blocking the air vents which may cause it to overheat and therefore suffer further damage.
