Kittan in DBZ mode

I've been noticing that Gurren Lagann sometimes takes cues from other animes at different points in the series for brief moments.

Just speculation on my part, but looks like a DBZ inspired moment here:


Tried to find a better DBZ character that was yelling like Goku but couldn't find anything on the net.  I'm probably just tired and bored :/

There are quite a few animes that parody each other (as well as other popular culture), such as Lucky Star and Gintama.

I know for a fact that the designers of Gurren Lagann (the robot) used Zambot 3 as inspiration. And most of the time, creators of certain works were fans of previous and similar works.
