Where is it free? There is a resource-limited version but that isn't full Standard. The Android MIPS version is free but offers no Windows exe when you compile.

Ah, good find, man. Currently re-downloading as I have the old GMS and it's just faster to re-download.
:)

Just a notice: If you have NAY version of Game Maker Studio already installed, you have to uninstall them, then delete Windows Registry entries for GM Studio and 5tudio. This completely removes your Free and MIPS licenses from your system.
If you don't, everytime you try to reinstall GMS it will automatically use your old license. There was no guide for this. I had to dig around my registry manually as I suspected that was the issue.
Waiting to see if the author will approve my posts on his comments about this.

I downloaded GameMaker Studio and did the free upgrade to Standard, and just today I received an email saying:
For a limited time we are offering you the unique chance to upgrade your copy of GameMaker: Studio Standard to GameMaker: Studio Professional for $25. That’s 50 percent off!
This limited time offer is available until Friday December 6, 2013 so hurry over to www.yoyogames.com and enter your GameMaker: Studio Standard Licence Key to purchase the world’s best 2D game creation software at a fraction of the cost!
YoYo Games
I do not know if I will do this but it is worth considering; not sure how I would use the added features. Maybe some of you received the same email?

I got the same email as well. It upgrades the platform of GMS so that you can add modules later if you need them.
Team features aren't bad, I guess. It seems more of a teaser for Master than anything else though.
I upgraded. $25 isn't bad at all. I make that in a couple hours now. xD
