Maybe what Kren means is the weird 'if your great grandfather was born in USA (but fathered by Swedish parents) and lived there for 30 years, before moving to Zimbabwe and having kids there...' etc rule, which allows you to play for a country if you're not reealy that nationality.

The French team, for example - a lot of them should be playing for African teams, but they have the chance of playing for France, and so of course they take it!

Hmmmm. What do we all think of England then? I've never liked Crouch, he's pretty useless. Half the time he doesn't even jump to head the ball - and when he does there's no-one to run onto it. Although maybe that's because Sven made some weird substitutions.

He's just being interviewed now, saying that taking Owen off was his attempt to link up play to the attack more - what the hell?! There was no attack with him taken off.

Beckham played well though, as did Gerrard and Lamps.

What was up with that Mexican ref though?!! He was so..so 'trigger-happy', must have been that time of month for him again hahaha.

hmm... I have to cheer for england in this... the US wont go anywhere and i dont think Holland will either (my grandpa id from Holland so he's been watching all the games like religiously and i never stop hearing about it)

besides....David Beckham is hot, sucks that he's married tho *tear*

O_O Holland has a great team... I expect it to pass to the Round of 16, and then meet Mexico or Portugal (the ones who eliminated Holland in Euro 2004  :))

Well, I vastly underestimated the Czechs... If the US can get their game together for their next game against Italy they will still have a good chance of advancing... I don't know though, the way they played today was quite uncharacteristic.

The Czechs were very good against the USA, especially Rosicky and Nedved.

Amazing result for Australia, and vital for them too if they want to get to the next round, considering they're up against Brazil and Croatia.


In this world cup, I'll probably support England as my main team, but also all the teams with Arsenal players in, so I can't lose, really. I don't have much hope of England doing well though, if they play like they did agaisnt Paraguay. It'll also be interesting to see how the youngsters do under pressure (Theo Walcott, Arron Lennon)

It was a result I already predicted, since I ackowledge very well the Czech's game. I predict the semi-finals for them...
Now, Italy's starting their game, I hope they, as the great name they have, don't commit the errors they did in the past (WC 2002 and Euro 2004)
