Surprised no ones posted a topic about this yet...though it seems to be getting a lot of stick for being "mainstream" and "popular". Also a lot of people don't want to play the game because its "unrealistic" or "because theres a space mission, clearly unrealistic". (I have yet to play this space mission though...even tho I've completed it?"

Anyway here is my stance on the game, the game is fun, fun as !@#$%. Epic as well. So what if its unrealistic the gameplay is fun and quick and the story is just amazing. Also

I think the game (series too) is now a fad.

I honestly see nothing "ZOMGOZMGOZMGOZGM" in it. It's just another War shooter, woohoo.

See this was what I was expecting. You say that like you was expecting some revolutionary new gameplay...

With the amount of popularity and "ZOGMZOGMZOGM" hype factor, yes.

Well why not instead of just blowing it off based on hype, look up the story for it? the stories pretty damn epic and entertaining in its self, the game play makes it way more entertaining. Its a damn fine game.

I'm pretty sure the story is less than 10% of the hype. The multiplayer is what everyone crazes about.

I don't own it but a close friend does so I've played it a fair bit. I enjoyed it, and thought it was a very good game, but I found it hard to remember I was on MW2, not ol' COD4. It wasn't revolutionary, but regardless was a very good game and lots of fun.

That wasn't my point.

Yeah I know, I just don't see why you've made an opinion based around people hyping the game for all the wrong reasons.

I'm not a fan of the CoD series, but my friend Nate (whose taste in games I really trust and respect) says it's an absolute blast.

Not worth a purchase though by any means.

Yeah at the very least if your skeptical I'd advise a rental.

I was forced to play it on xbox with a controller by some friends, and honestly it feels no different to COD4 to me.
Also, no dedicated PC servers, and I'm in Australia. You get the point.
Not worth the purchase for me.

Never been a fan of the CoD series either, but, the multiplayer is actually the only thing I like.

My decision stands at "Rental" then actually buying the game.
Or if you have a friend that has it, go over there and play it. (Like me. xD)

Gah... I'm playing it on the PC so I have to say the multiplayer sucks max is like 18 people on a map in a "ground war" whatever that's supposed to mean unless you use one of your perk slots you run slow, the graphics are getting more cartoony (don't misunderstand me I like cartoons but I'm supposed to be playing MW2 not Team Fortress 2) Aside from the tiny games as a result of the lack of dedicated servers, there alternative takes to long to find a host and then when it does half the time the lobby just closes. Seriously when any kind of online multiplayer match making ever been a good thing? I liked the single player mission, though I beat it really quickly the story had some interesting plot twists, I died a lot :P

I enjoyed it. There was nothing overwhelmingly amazing about it, but it was a fun experience. It's definitely better than its predecessor and a worthy sequel by every measure.

Just finished the campaign.

Outstanding as it was, I would have preferred if they hadn't killed off every single new character they added with the exception of Ramirez, and you never find out what exactly happened to him anyways.

Multiplayer is more challenging, which is a good thing. And for shotgun whores like myself, the Model 1887 Akimbo (< dual-wielding) is purely orgasmic to use.

I'm a fan of the riot shield myself. You're like a tank when using it.

I don't like the riot shield. I've never used it online and I never plan to.
I just find that it's cheap and there is no skill shown while using it.

It has its uses. Say you're playing online with three other people. If two of them use riot shields and stand side by side, it's effectively moving cover for the other two. Everyone is protected, giving that team a nice advantage over the other team.

Then again, this kind of teamwork over Live is rare.
