Title: Wiki projects!
Post by: MG-Zero on May 05, 2013, 05:45:25 pm
Hey guys,

I'm sure you've aaaalll noticed the Wiki by now (I hope, haha!)
We're looking to fill this baby up with our projects and resources.  It isn't as streamlined right now as our current CMS is, but I'd like to ask for all of your help in getting some of our projects on there.  Basically all you have to do is take some information about your project, along with some screenshots and such and create a wiki page for it!

As an example, take a look here:
http://wiki.zfgc.com/Horn_of_Balance

Obviously you don't include Staff Commentary on your page because that is a Featured Project thing.  However, your page is yours to control as long as you follow to some standards:

1. You must provide screenshots
2. You must provide an overview of your project
3. Keep it clean! Any rules that apply to the forum also apply to the wiki!

Other than that, we really aren't too picky about this.  I'll be trying to move some projects over myself, but your page may or may not come out how you want it to.  So please, consider moving your project over to the wiki!  Do it for the children :)

I always thought you have to ask for permission to have your game added, well now I know XD.

Also is it only for Zelda Projects or can non-Zelda related projects be added as well?

And do they have to be game projects, or can, say, sprite projects also be on the Wiki?

I don't know about the other administrators but I don't see why not. It's a ZFGC Wiki, so why limit the content being allowed on there? I say go for it.

Or you can make your own page about your resources and then share them through the wiki.

There's no limit on the content, Zelda, Mario, Metroid, original content, whatever!  Post any project you'd like!

As for non-game projects, they're more than welcome.  However, sprites are considered a resource and we haven't quite figured out how to do those yet.  If it's just a sprite, then don't post it yet but if it's an entire project like Majora's OoT LttP project, then go for it!

Sweet!  XD

Edit:
So I've added both my WIP games, the other one needs a bit of work though going to make time to edit it.

Hey guys !

So far so good. We've been working to migrate some more *active* projects over to the wiki. Afterwards we are deleting them from the CMS as we go. If you are the owner of a project, please check the wiki version of your project to make sure it looks good to you -- as we are doing this sort of speedily through our own generic template.
Also make sure not to add any more projects to the CMS! If we notice that happening, it's likely it may get deleted without getting ported. Just instead create your project in the wiki! The CMS will be replaced so we want to downsize it as much as possible to make migration to a new CMS less painful.

Thanks :D
