I think one of the main directions .TakaM was hoping to go here was to get a nice large set of TILES done first, before working on sprites, let alone sprite animations. I agree, it's a good plan to have a nice selection of tiles before you just jump in and start making random NPCs etc.

I do think the tree could use some changing, maybe a wider trunk/base, as well as some kind of dirt patch or roots or something going out to make it look more like it's in the ground. But the detail on the leaves is really good looking.

It is still rather small compared to the character sprites.

It's HORRID.

Well, maybe not quite that bad, nice choice of colours and not bad shading, but the angle is pretty .. weird... look at the angle of the tree trunk and how much of the top you can see, and the shape of the top.. then look at your pot :)

Linky, it's really bad. Sorry :\

And darklink, go look at a sign in LttP. How big are they compared to the characters? That same ratio should apply here. Your sign and pot are WAAAYYY too small. And they aren't all that good, either.

Thanks for the honesty, but Linky != Limey.

looks pretty good, though a little rough compared to the other sprites, the outline on his hat facing left really bugs me too

pots so far, while they havent been terrible, nothing seems like it fits in.. like it was made specifically for this set
limey, the main problem with yours is its out of perspective

signs so far, too small really.

You knew it was going to happen, it was just a question of when. Sorry that you have to edit everything I contribute, I guess I just take a while to adapt. I tried winging a left-facing Malon sprite, but I just can't get the face and hair right at the moment.

Just curious to know, but how do I take these tiles and use them in GameMaker? Like how would I use each individual tiles? I wanted to see if I could make a quick background using them. (And I don't make games, so I don't know how to use 'em. :P)

Oh and also, I took an attempt at the pot and sign. The pot needs some work (maybe too much colors), but I think the sign came out okay...

Well... I've been really busy these past few days, but I did these in between. Probably not as good as I could have done, and I'm not sure if they really fit the style, but I think they fit the angle a bit better. In any case, the one next to it, with the shadow... the shadow should be semi-transparent, like the trees and whatnot.

Maybe .Takam might want to have a go touching it up, I don't know. As well... I personally prefer the newer, more subdued colours. The current ones are pretty bright.

TanukiMario, you have to import the image as a background (the easiest way is to just paste it in), choose to use it as a tileset, then apply the individual tiles to a room.

I'm havin' a little problem with that. Okay I went to Backgrounds, made a new background, clicked load, and I clicked on the tile sheet (I saved it to my comp obviously). And then what do i do? (Also i'm using GM6) Where would I go to choose to use it as a tileset?

When you have the Background dialog opened, one of the clickable boxes is 'use as tileset'. After that, open the room you want to put them in, go to Tiles, and select the tileset.
