Er, which version are you using...? It looks like , but you're both lacking options on your Background window, and you're missing a number of icons up top.

Well, you should be able to use a background as a tile in whatever version that is. Just go to the room and try to lay down the tiles.

edit: Ohhh, I didn't even think of that. I forgot all about it. Just go to File, then click on Advanced Mode.

hes probally using ver.5 or ver.6 with advanced mode off

Go to the "file" in the main menu at the top of the screen.. look down the menu and you should see an option that says "Advanced Mode" and click it, and that should allow it to work

Top idea.

I'm not too happy with that water though, seems a bit bare. Perhaps someone could add some retarded ALTTP-style waves... or, you could try making it transparent so you can see the rocks and weeds in the river. How about it?

Anyway, I'll try spriting something but I haven't really sprited in a while...

Of course it's not. It matches the fence, too.
I mean, I know this a 'Zelda'-type thing, but regardless of what ALttP would have you believe, not all signs are as wide as people.

Aww...
Couldn't you make the post smaller so it looks larger by proportion?

EDIT: I also spent hours of using professional editing techniques to make the following:

The second one could benefit from some dithering and maybe someone could draw a light effect on the grass, which would be good for a night theme.

I really dislike the eyes. They look like single pixellated dots, like the eyes are glued shut and are tiny. Look at MC eyes, you can see the color, the white, everything - this is just weird.

Great job so far.The graphics remind me of a traditional rpg, instead of a zelda game. That's good in my opinion.
It could be made for an action rpg, depending on/if animations are made for the sprites.

Does any of this honestly have any importance to the topic at hand? The ZFGC style? I'm sure this could be cleaned up by a mod and carried out through PMs. I really don't want to be a rent-a-mod here, but honestly people. A page and a half for this?

EDIT: Thanks for cleaning this up.

I've created a road, so Link isn't just walking on dirt all the time.

There's two sets there, so you can mix 'em up to make the road less boring.

Mmm... feels those stones under your feet. Comments? Criticism? I'll take anything! Oh, and I'd also like to see these in a mock-up if anyone would make one.

its a bit messy compared to the rest of the tiles, should be pretty much as detailed as the shingles on the roofs
something more like the ones in lttp

Are you unable to edit the Tingle sprite into a form you approve of?  ???

Ive been trying to keep it similar to your start, but I think it would be best to scrap it and start again.
I did a new sign, and opened the doors:

Yeah, I can't really think of anything that I could do differently... All that I see as making a real difference is making him thinner.
