I actually like the left one better, his pallet fits the game pallet better.

I started a new kind of tree... but i hadn't enough inspiration to finish it, so finish it if you like :P

the land octorocks have four legs :P
and I'd assume the water bound ones have eight tentacles

But the Zelda 1 octorocs had 8 legs. See? Are we doing the ones from the new games?

Both Gorons of course... even if it's just a simple palette swap it still adds some variety.
I've been working on some things over the past week, and hopefully they'll all be ready for posting this coming weekend.

Yeah but the ones in Zelda 1 ARE land based. ;>.>

At Taka: Do we want the kind of Zora from the GB Games and Z1 or the kind from the newer games. I say both. It would be more...nostalgic.

They would be perfect if there were Roswell aliens in Zelda.  :P

Just kidding. It's nicely done, well proportioned, shaded etc. but unfortunately it doesn't look like a Zora. Most custom Zoras don't, to be fair. The shape of the head is a difficult thing to convey face-on at this angle of elevation.
With this style I think Bboy might be on the right track trying to put the tail to one side like they do with the GB sprites. Sometimes a bit of artistic license is needed when you're trying to squeeze something fairly complex into a tiny bunch of pixels. Plus they're taller than humans, so you could always use that to your advantage, give yourself more space to work in. I've just done a 2 minute edit, adding assorted fishy bits, and even though it may not be accurate design-wise, I think it's a bit more successful in capturing the likeness. But it's really just a rough idea to show you what I mean, darklink45:

Great Zora Mob, but I think if pulled off right, the head-tail thing would look better coming from the side at an angle.

after a bit of a tile loss crisis, i've gotten the stone walls done, as much as they suck.



i suck at breaking up tiles, so if someone else wants to do it, go for it.

edit: i've also added a few colors to the pallette.

not bad, but I think we'll ditch the bizarre perspective lttp, mc etc used, we'll keep the same perspective as outside
