Zelda 1 is a sandbox game. You had no help in it at all and you could go practically anywhere. I doubt TP will be the same since Midna is around to help. Although the overworld is supposed to be gigantic.

Oracle games are a little later after LTTP. That point in the timeline Hylians are almost rare. Now just humans. Except for Link and Zelda.
