I assume everyone knows, but I didn't see a topic so:

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw7d34XyG1A" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xw7d34XyG1A</a>

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nGRL-Pa6pw" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nGRL-Pa6pw</a>

What should they add? I was thinking they could have the seasons in Hyrule change depending on the time of year you played it.
(could be determined by your time zone and  calendar perhaps?)

Yeah, anyway for those who haven't heard Notch's user verification server exploded.

So what did he do? Remove the user verification and declared the game free until  he fixes the server. Just hit enter at the login screen once you get the .exe no login necessary.

www.minecraft.net

Make sure you TURN ON THE FRAMELIMITER otherwise your gpu will MELT your computer.
(this is mostly for high end cards with low end coolers like the NVIDIA 8000 series and high end notebook gpus, but turn it on just to be safe.)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQyhI4Vy3EQ" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQyhI4Vy3EQ</a>

Minecraft is now Turing complete make switches, tracks, mechanisms etc.
Singleplayer maps are generated and therefore unique. Maps can be generated to be 8 times the surface area of the planet via settings.

survive the night.

Its dangerous to go alone take this crafting guide:

It will be un-free once he fixes his server.

« on: July 20, 2009, 03:13:25 am »
to start with: I Wanna be the Guy!

if you haven't heard of IWBTG! ( http://kayin.pyoko.org/iwbtg/ ) it's quite possibly the hardest game known to mankind or at least to me (other than the impossible mario heck) and should take you atleast an hour to get past the first few screens. (unless you are totally hardcore or completely radical) One of the reasons I bring it up here is because there is a hilarious Zelda reference after the title screen.

NEXT UP: Syoban Action (Cat Mario)

ruthlessly hard mario clone that is in moonspeak (other than PRESS START) not that you need to read to play mario anyway :P. trust me you will slap yourself till your nose bleeds when you get to the end of the first stage.

have any experience with those or any other impossible games?

Entertainment / Walter Cronkite Dead at 92
« on: July 18, 2009, 10:03:39 pm »
Walter Cronkite was the face of CBS News from 1962 to 1981, when stories ranged from the John F. Kennedy assassination to the Iranian hostage crisis. He was called by many "the most trusted man in America,"

http://www.thespacereview.com/article/570/1
Quote
I remember being awake early enough one morning in November 1967, when space shots were still televised live, to watch him cover the first launch of America’s Saturn 5 Moon rocket. Although it was unmanned, it was critical to fulfilling Kennedy’s pledge of landing astronauts on the Moon before the end of the decade.

With a growing roar and flares of light, the booster ignited. Cronkite was sitting in a recently-built CBS News studio at the press site about three miles from Pad 39 where the launch occurred. Behind him, through a picture window, the searchlight-lit booster gleamed white against the rosy pre-dawn sky. At least, I assumed it was rosy: I only had a black-and-white TV set in my apartment at graduate school where I was an eager NASA trainee on a three-year scholarship from the space agency.

He gave a rapid-fire commentary on the beginning of this important mission, and then turned partially away from the camera. “The roar is shaking the studio”, he exulted, his voice rich with excitement that rapidly shifted to anxiety: “The window is coming loose!” Cronkite reached out his right arm, against the window, and held it in place as the rocket climbed skywards and the rumble faded.

That’s the way it was, the way I remember his space coverage: live, exciting, celebratory, uplifting in every way. If America loved its space program, it was because many of them saw it through Cronkite’s eyes, felt it through his heart, and learned about it from his words, expressions, and gestures.

…Cronkite’s on-target appreciation of the intense drama of space exploration, and his ability to communicate that human interest to the general public at the same time that NASA publicity officials were doing their best to make the program boring, classify him indisputably as one of the “good guys” of the Space Age.

… Cronkite would be the first to agree that no journalistic account (even his) should ever be considered an “original source” for any research. Anyone seeking precise and reliable chronologies should go to the detailed documentation, not the television-style summations.

It is in large part due to Cronkite’s unabashed love of the subject that so many people really still do go to the detailed books. So for his expressing that affection for space exploration, Cronkite will always have a special place in the hearts of space enthusiasts everywhere.

"and that's the way it is."

Entertainment / what's the best free mmo in your opinion?
« on: June 30, 2009, 12:45:43 am »
Personally I have to say Neo Steam. It's developed by Atlas (made famous for the Shin Megami Tensei and Persona series, and more recently Super Robot Taisen OG Saga Endless Frontier)

http://neosteam.atlusonline.com/guide-basic.aspx
The game, as the name implies, is based in a steampunk universe with two factions constantly fighting for dominance. The Kingdom of Elerd a faction which looks to magic for guidance, And the Republic of Rogwel the technological/scientific sort. There's plenty of Quests, Dungeons, PvP, and RvR as well as steampunk machines to build and ride around in.

and I present to you from The Republic of Rogwel

Yumton the Great and his loyal sidekick Blobworth

Entertainment / best DS rpgs?
« on: June 10, 2009, 09:41:01 pm »
alright so I started looking into ds rpgs again and I discovered that there were just as many good overlooked ones as there are good untranslated SNES games. (Front Mission to name one and that has a DS port)

in a few years maybe
Final Fantasy V (not announced)

upcoming:
Black Sigil
Golden Sun DS
Dragon Quest VI
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 days (wtf does that title even mean...)

released:
-Chrono Trigger (sorry Tetiro)
-FF crystal chronicles echoes in time (fantastic battle system you can PICK UP enemies  :o )
-Final fantasy III, IV(my favorite ff game), XII revanan wingoo (just watch the jap ad)
-Rune Factory 1 and 2 (like harvest moon + Zelda... kinda)
-Dragon Quest IV, V, Monsters: Joker (V has hilarious dialog)
-YS 1&2 (sure wish we had the new PC version of these games  :'( )
-Contact
-Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time
-Robot Taisen OG Saga: Endless Frontier (I highly recommend it street fighter like combat)
-Suikoden Tierkreis (makes up for being easy with its graphics and story... but it's really easy)
-The World Ends With You (funky rpg that makes you fight more than one battle at once)
-Zelda Phantom Hourglass (arguably not an rpg but we are on zfgc after all)

(hurm I suppose Time Hollow and the Phoenix Wright series don't count but they deserve mention as very good DS games.)

Did I miss anything?

« on: February 25, 2009, 11:49:30 pm »
That's right it's called Quake Live ( www.quakelive.com ) and it's a fully functional online version of quake 3 to run in your browser. Improved hud, textures, and aditional avatars. Also introduced is a clan system as well as a clan war game mode. The game even has trophies and achievements. Sadly its only beta right now and they are letting in 500 people at a time. (fileplanet flash back)

P.S I'm back (for now)

~Introduction~

This is meant to be a SMALL, SHORT, and QUICK guide to playing EuphRO2.
There may be better guides, but I'm just trying to breeze through. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy.gif)

~.Net Framework~

You're going to need .Net Framework later, let's get it out of the way now.
Download and Install it.
~Download~

~EuphRO2 Client~

Of course, you'll need this to play, this will be the only big file you need.
Download it, and install it wherever you want.
MAKE SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOU INSTALL IT!

http://www.euphro2.com/forum/index.php?showforum=40

~Mini-Launcher~

You will be using the Mini-Launcher to receive updates for EuphRO2.
Whenever you are told to update, this is what you use to do it.
There are 3 Mirrors to this file, YOU ONLY NEED TO DOWNLOAD ONE.
If one doesn't work, try another.
INSTALL IT TO THE SAME FOLDER YOU INSTALLED THE EUPHRO2 CLIENT!!!

http://www.savefile.com/files/1220145%5b/url

~Quick-Check~

Now check your folder that you installed the Client and Launcher in.
Make sure these files are in the folder:
EuphRo2 Launcher.exe
Ragnarok2.exe

If they are in the SAME FOLDER, you're doing everything correct so far.

~Register~

Now you need to make an account for the Server.
This is what you will Log In with.

http://www.euphro2.com/other/Register.html

~Patch and Log In~

Now then, you're almost done!

Run the EuphRo2 Launcher [Might want to make a shortcut for it on you're Desktop].
Let the Launcher patch your Client.
When it's done, click Start.

You'll come to the login screen.
Enter your account name and password, log in, create your character, and play!

~~~Use the EuphRo2 Launcher file to play, it will make sure you're always updated before you play~~~
~FAQ~
Q: When I select my character, I get "Connecting to World Server" and nothing happens, what do I do?
A: The server may be having problems, try connecting later, check the forum to see if anyone else is complaining, too.
Q: In-game, a lot of the Text Sizes are VERY small, can I make it...readable?!
A: Yes! You can!
Find your Regional Language Options in your Control Panel.
Click the Languages tab.
Check "Install Files for East Asian languages".
Click Apply, you may be asked to reboot.
[Note: Some people will require their Windows disc to install these, I think you may be able to find the files on the internet though.]
Q: How do I talk in Purple? What are the different colors?
A: The "Purple" Chat is "Channel Chat", you can switch to it by selecting "Chan" in your chat box.
The "Red" Chat, is "Yell Chat", I think it reaches everyone on the map you are on, switch to "Yell" in your chat box to use it.
So, yeah everything works great besides the fact that the NPC script is in korean. however the console,UI,quest menu, and most items are translated. So if you can't figure out what an npc just said about a quest look at your quest menu.
Entertainment / What happened to all the PC games?
« on: November 17, 2007, 12:38:40 am »
Hello, it's time another random appearance of LHoT!
Seriously what's going on here? I mean the last good PC game I can think of was Oblivion which had crazy system requirements, And if you upgraded your pc for that game and any other one that may come out in the future.... you found yourself waiting for quite a while. So now it's 2007 and lets look at the worth playing games so far released between 2005 (oblivion release) and today:
Bioshock
HL2 ep2 (Half-Life 2 Episode 2)  <zomg surprise :P
Portal (ty Swiftu)
Team Fortress 2 (ty Swiftu)
Crysis
S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Halo 2 < vista only... 0.o *heh I could probably fix that*
NFS ProStreet (what is this NFS 14?) <XP 2.8 ghz cpu Vista 3.0 ghz cpu *I can fix that too ctrl+alt+del>processes>end explorer>run firefox.exe>C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\ZOMGProStreet*
Call of Duty 4 *erm what happened to 3 for PC oh well*
Quake Wars: Enemy Territory
NWN2 Expansion Pack (ty Limey)
gee wow really pumping them out there
lets look at LucasArts and see what they are working on since they have had poo loads of PC games
Indiana Jones NOT only for xbox 360
Force Unleashed NOT xbox 360,DS,Wii
Lego Star Wars: Complete Saga NOT Xbox 360,DS,Wii,ps3,blah blah blah (not that I care.... ok so I have both games but it's not like I love them)
or Bioware:
Mass Effect NOT Xbox 360
Knights of the Old Republic 3 NOT or according to some sources December 2008 and it might be an MMORPG or was it 2009...
so, uh yeah What happened to all the PC games?
ages ago I made this
