I haven't played any GH games but GH2. That game was pretty fun, but they don't interest me too much really.

No, album covers are not sufficient. What was so bad about Death Magnetic? Everyone's heard what's wrong with Saint Anger verbatim from their friends, even if the album isn't all that bad.

Death Magnetic was promised to be good compared to their last attempt. But yet it turned out to be just like St. Anger.
They need to find a time machine, go back to when they we're writing Master of Puppets, Enter Sandman and Ride the Lightening. And then somehow steal that mindset. Then they need to forget Death Magnetic ever happened but before doing that handing out a formal apology. Then step into the world of Men In Black steal the mind wipe thingy use it on everyone. Then get to writing an actually good album.

Death Magnetic did have some good songs. The Unforgiven III, nothing compared to their past works, but by itself was a decent song.
They are never going to have another One, The Unforgiven or The Unforgiven II, and are past their prime, but Death Magnetic was still an improvement on St. Anger by a measure of one or two songs. Best thing they can do now is retire gracefully, I'll admit that.
Anyway, I sorta want to get this when it comes out just to play One repeatedly :P

Huge old school Metallica fan here, and I at least like "The Day That Never Comes" which does have an old school Metallica feel to it. Especially the beginning, it reminds me of "Fade To Black". I need to listen to Death Magnetic more before I judge it. I listened to it once through, didn't care for it, but sometimes albums need to be listened to many times before you like it. After hearing "The Day That Never Comes" a couple times over, I like that song alot.
I like that they're bringing this thing out, but I don't really care for Guitar Hero. I wish it would've come out for Rock Band. I just like the feel of Rock Band over Guitar Hero. That being said, I'll probably still buy this thing. Master Of Puppets rocks.....

It's in most cases a challenging yet fun game.

Well, I play rock band, and I'm good, (Ranked like, 6th in the world or some !@#$%, idc.)
And I play it because I play real drums, and this was competition.
So it took the two things I loved most and put them into a game.

They're the same in the fact that they're both !@#$%.
If you play drums in this game you have to over-play for every song, and protest downloading and then deny it a few years later and act like you're pro-downloading.

Wow, didn't realise someone had quoted me. Yeah, Death Magnetica nothing like St. Anger? Just because some of the songs didn't sound like the same droney crap of St.Anger doesn't mean they are good.

They had this game planned before GH: Aerosmith was released which was sometime before Rock Band was released. Anyway, I think this game will be alright but I probably won't get it.

We all know Guitar Hero is a crock of !@#$% these days.
I miss when Guitar Hero was just another game that a few people I knew found fun to play- not this giant waste-of-space fad getting millions of people to buy a new shitty shell of a fake instrument every month. The franchise takes itself too seriously. If I see an advert for Rock Band, which I rarely do, I think, "ok an advert that makes sense, fair enough".
When I see, "EVERYONE. IS. A. GUITAR HERO" I think "wow what a pretentious piece of !@#$%, even the drummer is a guitar hero? how about you stick with your original product and stop forcing your Rock Band gimmicks down our throats? Or just give up and find something better to make?" I'm sick of Guitar Hero now. I wish it would just go away and admit Rock Band beat it at its own game, and never spawn DJ Hero.
