It's the first Zelda game I played, back then I didn't even know there was a whole series of it  XD

But then I didn't become a huge Zelda fan until like, Wind Waker and that bonus disc with Majora's Mask and the others.

Hah. Everyone knows OoA is the best.

Kind of strange that this topic pops up a day after I start replaying LA. I haven't touched it for a long time.

I loved LA.

I've beaten it at least 6 times.

I've always found it's ending to be far more touching than every other zelda game.

It's the only one with a really effective bitter-sweet emotional ending. Every other ending is happy.


Also to anyone who has beaten both LA and PH, do you think that there is a connection? Both endings had certain concrete similarities that made me jump up and down like a school girl who just found out she isn't pregnant.

Also I will admit that I've cried a couple of times during the ending of LA (I've never cried from an emotional involvement to any other game).

LA and PH connection... I noticed it too. But I think it's just going to be a recurring theme. :/

Might be. It was so similar, I almost expected the ocean king to be flying through the air at the end when Link sees Linebeck's ship.

Probably just to make us go "Ooh LA" and have nostalgic moments.

Yes, Links Awakening is the greatest game ever. PH is a close CLOSE second, but not long enough.

I hate having to choose between Zelda games. Ocarina of Time coupled with Majora's Mask is an unstoppable duo, and I have to say that the two Oracles are just as good as Link's Awakening. I never really liked ALTTP.

I'm not sure if I would place PH in second. It was a great game with LOTS of great stuff but it lacked volume and was too easy most of the time. I wish they had added more to every dungeon (I shouldn't be able to beat a dungeon in 10 minutes).

I wish they had made the temple of the ocean king bigger or made more cursed temples.

OMG. I know what would make the best zelda game ever for me. Imagine if they remade for the DS with new items different dungeons and Cursed dungeons (I think the dungeons that would make really cool cursed dungeons are: windfish egg (it would have to be much bigger though), The castle with the golden leaves, and the dream house (this would have to be turned into a dungeon). That game would probably make my year.

oh and all the parallels I can think of between LA and PH
There is an accident at sea, link washes up on the shore, The windfish and ocean king are whales, at the end of the game something wakes up from a dream and the area disappears, the windfish/ocean king has a nightmarish creature in his temple/egg. There is probably more. Post anything else you can think of

my order would be:

1. LA - Best story ever, ending was so perfectly filled with mixed emotions.
2. TP/PH
3. OOT/MC/FS
4. WW
5. MM
6+ everything else (I really didn't enjoy ALTTP very much)
