Well, with png files, you have to be careful with IE. IE will make a png's colour become darker than it originally was. You should be fine if you're viewing the image online with Firefox, or any other browser.

The problem is, .PSP isn't perfect. The filesize is larger than it needs to be because it saves Undo, layer, and other information that isn't needed for games

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

Yeah, teh only possible way to save a completely "perfect" file is to save it as an uncompressed format. However, due to the loss of color problems in png, it works for almost everything and makes most other formats unnecessary.

A palette is used for taking colours off and using them in your sprites. So, you can use them in mspaint, use the tool thing to draw colors from it, then use them on your sprite.

Um, every. What you're meant to do is open the pallete up in MSPaint, or Photoshop, or Paint Shop Pro, whatever !@#$% you use :P, as if it were a regular image. Use the "colour dropper" tool to select the colour so you can draw with it. And then use that colour in your sprite.

Or, in MSPaint, use the colour dropper on one colour and check the RGB data. Use that RGB data as the replacement for the first colour in your pallete. Continue like that. When you've done that for every colour in your pallete, replace any remaining spaces in MSPaint's pallete with white. Ta-da!

And now just use those colours from then on.

PNG does change colour, you can't expect for a file format to be perfect.
.tiff, .eps, and .DIP

DO NOT change any colour. Thanks for the palettes, they will come in handy ^_-'
