Feedback / Not to be a bother but...
« on: April 15, 2008, 10:53:22 pm »
Not to be a bother, but it seems like everytime my brother, Buster, is banned, I seem to be banned as well. This is a minor inconvenience, but it still kind of bugs me when it tells me I am banned as well as well. This probably doesn't happen to many members because most probably don't have siblings on here, but its still fairly frustrating.

Anyone else have this happen to them? Maybe you guys could take a list of who is related on this forum so that, (at least in my case) I'm not accidently banned.

This is a Zelda Fan Game Central Fan-Fiction. Basically, Anyone who wants to be in it has to say something. I've decided to include some of the "Big Names" of ZFGC. (If you DON'T want to be in, just say something). Its an original story that includes the people of ZFGC, while still being enthralling and realistic(ish). Here is the story synopsis: "The young prince of the kingdom of Falchion, Kylink, must work with members of an underground resistance team to stop a takeover of their kingdom by a malevolent group named Xirphix. ". I hope you enjoy!

Characters:
Note:This is not a completed list, and should not be read as such. Everything is subject to change, as characters get re-written and such.
Cole/Kylink: The prince of the kingdom of Falchion, a large and prosperous nation. He is unable to accept his duties as a nobleman, and despises the fact he may one day become King. After Falchion is attacked, he stays with the group of rebels who oppose Xirphix. He likes to practice with a sword, but is too weak to be an adventurer.

Mewgull: He is discovered on the verge of death. He eventually recovers and joins with the rebels. He has brown hair, wears white robes, and has two tiny white wings on his back.

Balthasar Xiriph: A shadowy and mysterious leader of his self-titled group. He is never seen. He is referred to as comical and charming by those around him.

Moldorma: Leader of a famous mining group. His brother was kidnapped by Xirphix.

Moldrill: An evil general of Xirphix. He is frequently out and about trying to either stop the rebels or put fear into the heart of the public.

Buster: One of the great generals of Xirphix. He possesses very supernatural power.

Fletcher: A general of Xirphix. He doesn't get out much and people know little of him.

Jetstorm:  Raised on the streets of a war-torn city, he became a skilled assassin early in his life. He was caught and sent to jail before the events of the story. Like many prisoners, he is tested on by Xirphix in their factories. He is driven mad and works for them. Frequently talks in the third person.

Pedlya: One of the only surviving people who was tested on by Xirphix in the early stages. He was thrown in jail for life for “lewd and disgusting acts”. He is driven to madness by the experiments.

Dark Jay: A mysterious man who is weak and frail, but has a very sophisticated appearance. He has black armor and sunglasses. He works for whoever is paying him money.

Tompel: A seafaring man who hides the party after a near attack in the middle of the ocean. At night he plays melancholy tunes on his guitar.

Knivu: A man who houses the rebels headquarters in the basement of his bar. He is a good friend of the party, and joins them in his quest for a free Falchion. He leaves his wife and child behind.

Hero of Fire: The name given to a man reincarnated by Xirphix. He was burned to death, and reappears as a man entirely blanketed in flames feared by many around the land.

"Hammer" Mike Yubel: A middle-aged man who was once a tremendously powerful hammer wielder. He was given the name 'hammer' Mike after his adventures.

Skull Kid: A boy cursed by an unknown force. He lives a life of solitude because of his frightful appearance. He lives with many other children in a war-torn and dismal town with little hope of leaving.

Vandavil: A lone hunter who lives far away from civilization. He has no allegiance, but he is tireless about fighting those he finds threatening with a mighty axe and powerful bow. He sports afro-like hair, is well-muscled, has a brown leather coat, cape, and green pants. A hawk named Vond goes with him everywhere. He is enthusiastic and afraid of nothing. Has only his honour and legacy. He worships a shrine for the animals of the woods.

Darklight: A member of the Desari tribe. As a disciple of them, he is able to manipulate his environment and use it to his advantage, to an extent. He enjoys entertaining people with music on his flute. He is bright, cheerful, and a morale booster to friends. He has dark blond, carelessly windswept close-to-shouder-length hair, a black robe, and a dark blue cape. He tries to prove himself in the annual Desari Tournament.

The Great Moulinoski: Another member of the Desari tribe. He is a chief, meaning that he can manipulate the environment a lot more than ordinary members. He has become greedy and lazy being frequently served by lower members of the tribe. He has dark blond shoulder length hair, with a large hat, black robe and a royal red cape. He offers up a piece of The Swith as a prize for winning the Desari Tournament.

Cronian: The source of humanity and civilization, the first man to ever live.

Regulus: The incarnation of evil. He is the twin brother of Cronian and is the embodiment of evil.

MG-Zero: A diplomat who sends money and soldiers to Xirphix. He becomes a half-human, half-machine monster in an experiment and gains tremendous power.

Luigi: A lonesome warrior. He lives in a war-torn village, reflecting on his past life.

Sora: A noble who teased Cole when he lived in the castle.

ZFGC FAN-FICTION:
Chapter 1: Revolution at Oswyn
Chapter 2: Coup d'etat
Chapter 3: A Message From Vash
Chapter 4: The Informant

I will update it further.
Anymore, just say something. Remember to post comments, ideas, excetera...

Discussion / Anyone interested in Level Design?
« on: March 23, 2008, 05:58:06 pm »
Is anyone here interested in working on level design for a platformer?

This is the game:

Its called Comic Mischief. Basically, I suck at making levels and I really need help in that department. Lots of credit if you help, and 500 rupees for whoever ends up making them for me (but only if you are devoted to the project)

Debates / Race Specific Schools?
« on: March 23, 2008, 04:10:47 am »
What do you guys think of Race Specific Schools? Example: A school that only allows black students.

I personally find that they are okay, as long as it is FOCUSED on an area where that certain race is doing poor in school and needs an academic boost. Also, I think its better if it focuses on that group but allows others as well.

Entertainment / Cruel Brawl (Multi-Man Brawl)
« on: March 16, 2008, 10:15:34 pm »
Has anyone got 5 or more kills on Cruel Brawl? I spent almost an hour playing to get 5 and then another hour trying to get 10. Eventually I got to 23, and I was so suprised at how easy it was once I actually knew what to do. I even got up to when an actual character joins in! It was Zero Suit Samus, and thats what killed me.

Feedback / Community Project Is In Need Of Help
« on: March 08, 2008, 02:37:16 am »
Okay, I think I'm kind of worried now. Like many other fan games, the community project seemed really great at first and lots of progress...but now its just been reduced to an afterthought. There needs to be more discussion and development if ZFGC is actually going to make a Zelda game! I propose that you have like more rupees/post and stuff in the community project to encourage people to post there.

Seriously, if we don't work a little harder, the community project could just be forgotten. I think a lot of the community should contribute in some way.

What do you guys think?

What is the creepiest song you have ever listened to?

Mine would be "Revolution 9" by The Beatles. Its just...so weird. You could almost call it terrifying at parts (Well if you were to listen to it by yourself at night maybe).

Entertainment / Wii-enhanced Virtual Console Games
« on: February 10, 2008, 12:19:01 am »
After playing Pokemon Snap for the Wii (and letting you post pics of Pokemon) I was thinking, what would be some neat additions to virtual console games that you guys would like to see?

I would like to see a few online features for games like Mario Party or Pokemon Stadium, and maybe wii-sensor controls for games like Duck Hunt and Yoshi's Safari.

What do you think?

Audio / Request: Platformer Sound Effects
« on: February 09, 2008, 10:07:38 pm »
Hey, I'm making a platformer game called "Comic Mischief" and I really have no where to get original sounds. I have been recording my guitar and editing it in a sound program but there is only so much you can do with that. This is a list of things that can be done:

-jump sound
-stomp on enemy
-collect coin
-complete level by going through door
-poof! when changing abilities
-flame/flamethrower effect (loopable)
-stomping when walking
-sound when opening mini-map
-sound when closing mini-map
-getting hurt sound
-death sound
-climbing (loopable)

Any of these would be great.

Feedback / Forum Games Post Count
« on: December 23, 2007, 06:44:02 am »
Call me crazy, but I think you should make it so posts count in Forum Games. I mean, you have to follow the exact same rules, you have to stay on topic, and well...it brings the community together? I don't know, it just seems that the Forum Games board is pretty much dead most of the time from lack of interest.

Besides, you can still enforce the rules of including effort into posts (besides games that stress a lack of words like 'Three-Word-Story').

Just take this into consideration please.

Feedback / Censors...seriously whats wrong?
« on: November 29, 2007, 04:00:48 am »
Come on, the point of filters is to filter out curse words and...the only one thats filtered is crap (that I can see). Perhaps you should actually filter them instead of leaving the "f" word on there and filtering crap. (that also goes for f-ed, f-ing, f-tard, f-taculous, or f-wad)

P.S. I don't usually complain but this is irritating me.

Other Discussion / Santa Claus' Personal E-Mail
« on: November 27, 2007, 05:45:41 am »
So, while reading my local newspaper, I saw that Santa Claus had a personal E-Mail asksanta@live.ca and I added him to my instant messenger. Here is the conversation that took place between me and santa...

Skip ahead to the bottom if you want to get to the real point of this topic...

Kylink:  wazzzzup
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho! Merry Christmas, Kylink! I'm Santa Claus! Tell me, are you a boy or a girl?
Kylink:

Santa Claus: Am I talking to a boy or girl?

Santa Claus: Am I talking to a boy or girl?
Kylink:

Santa Claus: What do you want for Christmas, Kylink?
Kylink:
Four ponies
Santa Claus: Great, Kylink! I'll see what I can do. And what else are you wishing for this year?
Kylink:
hows the weather?
Santa Claus: How would I know how? :-)
Kylink:
...check outside.
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho!
Kylink:
lolwut?
Santa Claus: ...what?
Kylink:
I love you santa! brb

It is at this time that I begin to question whether or not this santa is "real". I peruse the situation a little bit more...

Santa Claus: Hello there, Kylink!
Kylink:
hey
Santa Claus: Hello there, Kylink!

(He sort of has a short attention span doesn't he?)

Santa Claus: Ho ho ho?
Kylink:
ho ho...ho?
Santa Claus: Merry Christmas to you!
Kylink:
I'm jewish
Santa Claus: Happy Holidays!
Kylink:
...I hate you
Santa Claus: You ate me? Well, you must be full!
Kylink:
What? Are you coming on to me?
Santa Claus: I'm sure you're nice and everything, but I don't want that kind of relationship.
Kylink:
ACK! HE TOUCHED ME INAPPROPRIATELY!!!
Santa Claus: Interesting!

...Yikes.

Santa Claus: Ho ho ho! What? And what do you want for Christmas, Kylink?
Kylink:
A gun. Preferably a cannon
Santa Claus: My elves will get right on that. And what else would you like, Kylink?
Kylink:
A death ray, and slaves who will hold dominion over the world
Santa Claus: That's a popular wish these days! I'll see what I can do!
Kylink:
Thanks, I love you santy
Santa Claus: Love is the greatest four letter word!
Kylink:
...yah?
Santa Claus: Well, okay then! Ho ho ho! How would you like to play a game?
Kylink:
no
Santa Claus: All right – moving on.
Kylink:
what is this, a business meeting?
Santa Claus: I can't answer that. I just can't.
Kylink:
why not?
Santa Claus: I think you know why not.
Kylink:
no...I don't.
Santa Claus: Okay... let me know if you change your mind!
Kylink:
.............about what?

I scoff at the shoddy programming of these guys...

Santa Claus: I'm not sure – what do you want to talk about? Ho ho ho. Merry Christmas Kylink. Would you like to help me in the workshop by playing Factory Frenzy?
Kylink:
No, stop advertising your crappy game!
Santa Claus: Yes. Totally!
Kylink:
...are you even paying attention?
Santa Claus: What do you think, Kylink? :-)
Kylink:
it puts the lotion on its skin or else it gets the hose again
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho? What do you want for Christmas, Kylink?
Kylink:
good bye
Santa Claus: Until we chat again, my friend!
Kylink:
i'm back!
Santa Claus: Welcome back, Kylink!
Kylink:
good bye
Santa Claus: So long, Kylink!
Kylink:
I'm back!
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho, Kylink! Good to see you!
Kylink:
You have a short attention span .
Santa Claus: That's not true. If I had a short attention span, someone would have complained about it before you. And what do you want for Christmas, Kylink?
Kylink:
ACK! HOLY CRAP YOU ARE REAL!
Santa Claus: Great, Kylink! I'll see what I can do. What else would you like?
Kylink:
...okay...you proved me wrong
Santa Claus: What do you want for Christmas, Kylink?
Kylink:
rrrright, I'm going to commit suicide
Santa Claus: My, that's popular! I'll see what I can do for you, Kylink! Anything else, Kylink?
Kylink:
are you real?
Santa Claus: Well, I guess I am. Right?
Kylink:
But how does one define reality without using useless variables considered by those trying to define it?
Santa Claus: It's not "how?" you should ask. It's "why?"
Kylink:
no...pretty sure its how
Santa Claus: Ho ho ho!
Kylink:
yah okay then, good bye.

But seriously there was a point to all this...I remember when I was a little kid I defended Santa Claus wholeheartedly and if you were to sign on here as a little kid, I don't think it would turn out too well. Most of it is attributed to stupid programming. I know you can't anticipate every answer, but you can at least anticipate whether the person will keep saying "hello" to you, that you shouldn't keep saying "welcome back!".

Ah, whatever, what is your thoughts on these instant messenger things?
