Information
Another project of mine: Zelda II: Adventure of Link engine using Game Maker 7. I am going to mainly focus on the side-scrolling aspects and then tackle objectives in this order:
~Side-scrolling Engine
~HUD
~Overworld
~Menu
~Leveling System
~Encounters
~Saving System
If all goes according to plan, everything from Zelda II upto the first palace will eventually be playable.
The purpose of this project is to inspire new and old fan gamers to experience and create their own Zelda II games. I believe that Zelda II is a very over-looked game that deserves more praise than people give it. Hopefully this will provide more ideas to others in their fan game programming.

Controls:
Left/Right~ Move Left/Right respectively
Down ~ Crouch
Z ~ Jump
Zelda II has an interesting movement engine in that Link speeds up and slows down depending on key strokes. Also, tapping down while moving is not a glitch. If you play a rom or the original, you can keep tapping down and moving as you see in my engine.
As of right now, there is no jumping, nor collisions.
