The Legend of ZeldaThe Hylian PhoenixThe Hylian Phoenix centers around the story of Link, a boy who lives in the Celdena Highlands, which is a neighboring land of Hyrule, only divided by a huge forest called "The Great Forest". Here he lives with his uncle, Earl.
One day, Earl asks Link to climb down to the village at the foot of the small mountain they live on, to buy some food.
Link soon discovers that the shop in the village doesen't have any food left, and is forced to go the long way to Hyrule Castle town, since the road to Celdena Castle Town is blocked off at the moment. To go to Hyrule, Link has to find his way through a huge forest.
When Link finally set his foot on Hyrule Field for the first time in his life, a storm is raging Hyrule. Link can see smoke in the distant, and it looks like Hyrule Castle.
Why is Hyrule Castle under attack?
Why, on this very day that Link was going to buy food, does this happen?
And HOW will Link get his food now? xD
Anyways, that's the basic intro of the quest. I did cut out alot of things from it though, like the tons of quests he has to do while he's still in the village and forest.
There's three dungeons in the forest, that Link has to plow through before he even gets a sword. These dungeons include a cave, a temple and an old mansion where Link has to sneak past a group of thieves. So there's one action based dungeon, one puzzle based one and one stealth based one.
But these aren't the "main" dungeons. The real story doesen't start before he sets foot in Hyrule Field.
The game is being built in Zelda Classic. I hear that most of you doesen't like ZC, but hey... I do. And I'm not a skilled programmer... but I'm a skilled map maker.
Now, don't you think that the game will be limited to the usual zelda 1 mechanics.
It will use tons of scripts, made by a very good friend of mine.
The game will be very big and lengthy. I'm aiming at around 60 hours of gameplay, but you know, a skilled player might be able to run through it faster than that.
It will include big areas, like Hyrule Field, which is divided into four main parts.
Hyrule Caslte Town, will be a very big, sprawling city, with tons of houses and shops. It will hold many side-quests, both big and small.
The castle will also be very big. It will also act as the first "Main dungeon", but after that, it will be fully explorable, as long as you have the items to get past the hinders.
It will also have a few rooms, where you can select a few unique weapons. But you can only carry one of them at once, so if you want to have another one, you have to trade in the one you've got on you. Though, this does NOT interfere with your normal items like the sword and shield, bombs and so on.
The game will include many known Zelda places and landmarks, but it will also boast a wide variety of new places, like new villages and so on.
Along with this, the land of Celdena will be accessible to a certain extent.
The story is very important for me, and it will be very deep.
You'll get the most basic story if you just listen to the dialouge and cutscenes, but if you start to explore, read books and so on, you'll get alot more of it.
The game takes place between Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess/Wind Waker. It is built upon the split timeline theory presented by Gametrailers in their last part of the Zelda retrospective.
The graphics is a thing I care alot about, and it includes graphics from A Link To The Past, and Seiken Denestu 3 and other titles.
It also has it's own library of custom graphics, created by me, or other skilled pixel artists.
I'm going for a realistic look, since the story is very dark. Infact, it's the darkest story I've seen in a Zelda game so far.
I'm not scared of killing characters in a brutal manner, so expect some "holy !@#$%, not him! and not like THAT!" moments.
Here's a few screens for ya:
The Great Forest: (UNFINISHED)

http://img360.imageshack.us/img360/1404/migokalleci4.gifI do have a few videos, but they're so slow, cause I recorded them on an older computer. I haven't gotten to record any new ones yet, but I'll post them when I do.
I will have a demo ready pretty soon. I just need to finish up a few things, and get it beta tested for the second time.
I'm hoping to have it ready in the next few weeks, but I can't promise anything, cause I'm pretty busy right now.
Comments? I really enjoy comments.
Now, that's all I want to give out for now. I'd like some comments though, as mentioned earlier.
This is also my first post here....
I'm Robin, from Norway! Hello everyone

DEMO: (Copied form page 4)
http://dl10.zshare.net/download/19f5b8a8bf3d2cd370a62e9c2d58a90b/1223121949/19938077/The_Hylian_Phoenix.qstThat's the demo, folks... but one thing is VERY important:
You HAVE to use Build 864 to play, which can be found here:
http://www.shardstorm.com/zc/alphas/864-windows.zipDO NOT TRY IT ON ANY OTHER VERSION OF ZC!
For those who hasn't used ZC before:
Save all files in the folder you want them in.
Open "zelda-w".
When you get to the file select screen, hit ESC and go to settings.
Form here, go to "Key Buttons" and select the control setup you want to play with.
Now, click ok and hit ESC one more time. At the file selection screen, choose to register a name and enter "THP", or whatever you want to call my game.
Now, DO NOT PRESS ENTER. This will only start Zelda 1.
Hit the button you assigned "A" to. You'll get a screen which should say "A: Load a custom quest". Hit A again, and you'll eventually get to a screen with a browse button.
Locate and select "The_Hylian_Phoenix_.qst" and click ok.
Now you can hit enter and start the quest. Have fun :3
