Wooopeti, another art thread here at ZFGC. Star and Kami are the responsible ones for motivating me to do this, but it's a motivation that I need to get things done when it comes to drawing XD
Anyways, first piece of art is for a upcoming indie game I'm developing. This is the main character of the game, I'm quite satisfied on how it turned out, buuuut this might not be the final design of the little guy :)

I like it, but he definitely needs a bit more detail below the head to give him more personality, imo. Maybe gloves and/or a circuit board style pattern on his chest (he's a robot, right?).
Anyway, I always thought of you as a good pixel artist, and it's good to see more stuff from you than just the few sprites I've seen in the past. As for me, I'm really getting into character design and 3D modeling (all my efforts were put on hold for a couple months though, due to a work-related accident), so I'll probably have my own art/model thread going in a bit.
I look forward to seeing more art from you, Sinkin. :)

Yeah, he's a robot! And the circuit pattern was not a bad idea, I'll play around with the design a bit more c:

Thanks for the kind words, Malon! This thread is keeping my motivation at top, so I began on a new piece today, testing a new style and different techniques. It's a very early wip, but I guess you guys can see what it's heading :)

Sinkin, how do you paint digitally? I know that's extremely vague but I only really know how to cell shade. Any tips?

Usually when I draw characters, tools, weapons and etc. I start with doing silhouettes, just doodling with a thick brush to get a shape to work with. When I find a shape I like, I start to "block" out highlights and such so I can tell what is what. Then I just start to play around with the design, looking at references and such.
If you wanna paint environments, it's basically the same method though I make a really quick sketch on how it should look, then I take the lasso tool and draw some shapes, filling those with different color values depending on how far away and how close the objects are (darker colors for those which are closer and lighter for those further away), It all depends on perspective.
Using different brushes is one way to make the things you draw look better, but brushes doesn't make an individual better at drawing in general :)

Another wip, it's based of Bungie's new game "Destiny". It's a Guardian who is desperately fighting for his life against a Fallen, it's a very rough piece, but I'm starting to get everything at place!

Long time since I posted in here, so here is a little 3D model that I started to work on today. It's the rifle Jack have in the movie "Oblivion". Really cool design!

Sadly, i don't have a PS3 but i think i'm gonna get one just for this game. It just looks way too awesome to not play :')

It is. I've never played a game so well designed and polished with such great performances from their voice actors. I'd recommend a PS3 just for that game.

I'm probably gonna buy a PS3 tomorrow, can't keep myself away from it. :P
SO! Since i think i'm not gonna spend some more time on this piece, i consider it done. It took a little more than 2 hours to draw, where half of the time was spent to study tree fungus and what not to really get a grasp on how this fungus can turn a human into something this creepy.

Time to bring this thread back to life! This is a quick one, which is showing off a Pilot Hunters core armor, the cloak and belt that will have unique abilities. A Pilot Hunter is a class in my top secret indie game that I've been tinkering with for some time, expect to see more "sneak peaks" of concept art for this game :P

Hi Star! And thanks for the kind words :D Cloth is a real b*@!h, I have spent a lot of time studying it but I still can't get it to look the way I want. But I guess it kinda have to do with me not drawing as much as I did before, which is a shame really. Buuuuut now I got six weeks off from work so I'm gonna try and draw as much as possible :)

Soooooooooo, me and my friends is in some weird period in our lives. We think that the monkfish is just hilarious, the name and just it's appearance in general, so I decided to paint one wearing a suit, which makes it the ultimate boss to fear and worship :P

I definitely like the painterly effect here~ It really makes me want to see a game done with your painting skill as the sprites. I'm not much of a critique-er for more realistic art, but the only suggestion I could think of would be to use more hue-shifting to make the colors pop more, like the red-meets-violet of the previous picture.

Time to bring some life back to this topic with some pixel art.
I found this old gem from 2010 in a super old folder on my computer, it's a early wip on Deadpool from Marvel Comics. So I thought it could be cool to see how much better I've got at pixel art. I guess it's safe to say that I'm way better than 5 years ago haha
