I think it was up to par with the first one... I still think VM 2 was the best out of 'em.

The best sonic is sonic 2. That or sonic 3 and knuckles...hard to say. One of those though. By far.

Zelda series : LTTP(First Zelda Game)
Golden Sun series : You can't separate the 1st game from the 2nd!
Final Fantasy series : FFX, followed by FFVII
Metroid series : Metroid Prime 1 & 2,
MegamanX series: Like literaly first snes game i ever played, 1 was the best of all them.

Link to the Past wasn't the first Zelda game! It was Hyrule Fantasy for the NES! :P

Anyhow, good choice, ALTTP is one of the best in the whole series.

My Favorite Game Series:

The Legend of Zelda Series
Mega Man Series (Not X, I don't like X as much)
The Tomb Raider Series
Suikoden Series
Resident Evil Series (Without the Remakes xD)

The favorite ones of each series are:

Wait, I forgot Sonic!
Best Sonic game IMO is Sonic 3 for Genesis.  The first game in a series you play... there's just something about it that stays with you.

Chrono Trigger is the best from square in My opinion, but it doesn't have any re-makes or sequels (please don't say Chrono Cross is a sequel to Trigger, PLEASE!.  Chrono Cross for me is entirely different, except for the appearance of Lavos and stuff :P.)

The only REAL thing made was Resurrection, and wasn't even from Squaresoft, and the guys got a cease and desist order for doing so without express permisson from them, while Zelda remakes keep being made with no sues from Nintendo whatsoever :P (w00t for that!.)
