I need a JumpNRun-Engine for GM5, and if possible only for GM5. Thanks.

Fox, Why do you keep using GM5? I hate it. So much... Move up to 6.1 like the cool kids. Any programmer will say 6.1>5.x

So what! I wanna get out! 'Cos there's so much out there! So many different people, living different lives! Incredibly good guys, bad guys... Folks completely different from us! It's one huge melting pot! See, it's not about success, dying in the streets, who's better, who's not! I just want to be a part of it! I realized that even if I've no connections, no talent, even if I'm one big loser, I want to use my hands and feet to think and move, to shape my own life! We can just die here or we can try, see what we've got!

You young people and your new stuff. I'll keep going with my good ol' GM5.3a! *hugs his GameMaker*

... seriously. There's so much stuff in GM6 that I don't like, especially the fact that it apparently eats up more memory and therefore can't be played by people with lower PCs. Nonono, it's alright the way it is right now. I'm too used to GM5, it can't be changed. >_< And I'm glad about it.

At my Dad's place, his computer will only run GM5. That's the only time I ever use it.

The platform tutorial for GM5 is still on the site though. http://www.gamemaker.nl/old/tutorials/platform.zip , found here: http://www.gamemaker.nl/old.html

Amen to that. Now i cant get you an engine, but i might be able to give you the theory to code one. Here is how it works, set a variable:

Create
Global Jumping=0
Global JumpHeight=1
Jumpadder=1

y=JumpHeight-20

if Jumping=1 {
Jumpheight+Jumpadder
if JumpHeight=>10 {
Jumpadder=-1
}

Then set if JumpHeight=0 {
Jumping=0
}
}

You could in theory do it something like that, i hope it at least helps.

Fox, 6.0 has better encryption in the files. It isn't impossible not to heck, but the version you have is totally unsafe. There is no excuse not to use it, except if you don't have a good computer.
