I've written a simple village theme for ZoraFan's game. There's a few things I'm going to change, I might add a new section to it, so it's not as repetitive, as well as playing with the dynamics a bit.

C+C Please;

Note: This music is for use with ZoraFan's game The Phoenix Blade only.

Very well done. The instrument combination is pretty good, and the melody is reminiscint of itself but not repetive, except for the background that goes very well with all of it.

It's pretty good. I don't love the chord progression too much though - I, ii, iii, IV. It is also a bit too repetitive for me. I'd like this if it were more fast paced and had a bit more drumming - like hi-hats or something. The scales also seemed a bit "corny". But overall, it was really good, and probably fitting for whatever village it was designed for.

Really nice music man, it's a treat to listen to and has the right feel to it for a village BGM.

It's perfect. I love it.
I can really imagine a village with that music... kind of reminds me of Golden Sun, but higher quality...

I actually chose the chord progression quite carefully, I original had it as 1, 2, 3, 4 | 1, 2, 3, 2 - But it just sounded quite "cliched" and didnt seem to be nearly melodic enough, but going 1, 2, 3, 6 | 1, 2, 3, 4 - Seems to have given it a semi-eerie and 'brighter' feel, so I'm fairly happy with it.
Like I said, it is quite repetitive, and i'm probably going to write another section to it. The reason it is slow, and lacks percussion is mainly just to fit the kind of laid back, homely style of a village.

Thanks for your comments and crits, i'll take them all into consideration :)

No problem, I definitely don't dislike your music. I guess I'd have to see the village and the context to really see how the music works.

Yeah I know what you mean, I'm still very much a beginner in the technical side of things, I'm learning as I go though, what works what doesnt work etc. I'm also currently doing a Music Technology course in college, although it's very basic in the scheme of musicianship, we do have to know a certain amount to be able to do the coursework.
I appreciate your comments and crits as always :)

Thanks everyone ^.^

That's my main problem too. I've been a pianist for 11 years now and taken theory classes, done tests and programs, learned classical and jazz piano, the works. But I'm not great on the technical side.

I wish I'd been a pianist for 11 years! I started taking lessons probably about 11 years ago, but packed it in a year or so after, and only got to grade 3 (didnt take any exams or anything), so coming back to it all pretty much suddenly 11 years later is quite a shock to the system. :)

Very awesome song.  I can easily see it being used in a village or just any other peaceful area.

Heh, what better place for the credits than the file name itself?   :)

That was just amazing, I really enjoyed listening to it. Though I did have one problem with it, it seemed too peaceful for an in-game Zelda village. I can easily imagine it as a fairy garden or something along the lines of that, but I just don't see it in a village that has tons of things going on. Though, depending on what kind of village zero plans to make from the song, I might choke on my words. Don't get me wrong, you did an amazing job with it, I am also impressed by the talent you possess in musicianship, just I can't see this put into a Zelda village.

Dayjo, overall this piece is amazing, I will give it an A+, I just don't see it being a village theme, that's all.
