Minish the Mouse vs Lunar
Pre-Round: July 16th

This is Minish the Mouse. He was born in a small house within the lands of a farm and away from the cities. Unlike a normal mouse, Minish the Mouse did not indulge himself with smelly pieces of cheese. He enjoyed eating cookies, cakes, pies and an assortment of many other goodies. When Minish the Mouse was very young, a curse was placed upon him by a crazy evil cat wizard. The curse caused Minish to become a mutated demon rat whenever the full moon came up, and he would stay a demon rat until the sun came up in the horizon. Whenever Minish the Mouse becomes the demon rat, he would cause destruction. Although he may have only been the size of a coffee mug, when he was in this stage, he could cause chaos. Whenever he... Lunar is a character of mine that I've been developing for six or more years. I've grown up with him, almost as if he was an imaginary friend. Lunar is a satirical representation of Adolf Hitler. He is the dictator of a extremely fascist government, corrupt and tyrannical in every way. He represents Hitler at the height of his power, as a charismatic leader of a vicious empire. Lunar is the "High Red Lord" of Cathenol, a multi-planetary civilization evolved from humans but bearing little to no resemblance. At the time the story is set, Lunar is 59 years old, 6'7'', 230 lbs. Lunar's physical shape is kept in near perfection, in order to uphold is public image as a strong dictator, both physically and mentally. Lunar is one of a few central characters in the story. There is no true "main character". Not yet... [Read more...]

Characters / Hane. Character Bio Update.

Hane

Character Biography
Hane is a young orphan child living on the streets of a small village, outside a 1500's London. A quiet boy, the only friend he has is Krylia, a young girl of Hane's age who pities him for his state of living and lack of family and friends. Due to his current state, Hane often finds himself stealing to survive, but his overall intentions towards people remain positive, but most of the people around him are afraid of him, and often refrain from talking to him. He begins to question himself, wondering if there is something that makes him seem intimidating, and turns to the church for assistance. For his own reasons he embarks to discover, upon entering the church, Hane becomes stricken with panic and anger. Hane burns down his village and kills most of the inhabitants, including Krylia's parents. He awakens in an underground dungeon, with Krylia sitting in the corner crying and staring at Hane's scarred body, having no idea what has just happened to him... but that's just the tip of the iceberg.

In my opinion, the story of Hane is fearsome one. It deals with a lot of issues that may seem somewhat twisted, angry and most of all, confusing. The story itself doesn't necessarily answer all of the questions presented to the reader. It leaves the most suitable questions to be pondered by the readers. That said, the story travels into life-threatening, world-impending, and amazingly bizarre territory. It's a tale I've been eager to tell for many years, and I await the pleasure of doing so.

FAQ

The story is too long. Do I have to read it?

Well, no. But I would like you to. If not then just comment on the pretty pictures, or something.

Is this just some Wanderer rip-off?

I don't think so. I've had this character in my mind for a few years. I've written a few documents on his life, but this is the first time I've made him public.

He does look a bit like the Wanderer...

Maybe, but he wasn't inspired by the Wanderer in any way.

EMO LOL

I don't think he's emo. If anything he's a bit gothic, but otherwise it's all in his character design.

EMO LOL

STFU, please.

K

Thankyou.

What's with the scar?

I don't know. It looks cool.

Is one of his eyes blind?

Yes, actually. Good observation.

Why does he use guns?

Because guns make a bang sound and are also very entertaining to use in media.

Ah, I see.

That's not a question, no matter how frequently it is used.

A Chapter in the Story of Hane
Everyone has a reason to run away from their problems. For Hane and Krylia, it was no different. They were only teenagers after all, and they had lost their parents, the only people they could truly depend on. Who could blame them for running away from their village? Beginning a new life somewhere else with each other seemed like the only thing they could do.
As Hane walked along the forest path, he couldn’t stop thinking about what he had done, and what possessed him to do it. The thought of not being in control of himself overwhelmed him. What exactly gave Hane a reason to burn down his own village and kill most of the inhabitants? Hane knew it didn’t seem like something he would do, it wasn’t like him. The fire killing Krylia’s parents made him feel worse. Hane didn’t know whether Krylia had already forgiven him, but he didn’t want to talk to her to make sure... keeping her safe would be enough, he thought.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœIt’s not far from here,’ Krylia muttered as she stepped along the silent path, Hane right on her trail. ‘The border is beyond Dhampir’s Castle. We’ll be safe once we pass there.’
As the couple progressed through the misted castle grounds, the night sky slowly advanced from the peach-red twilight, to the fearful dusk. Krylia suddenly stopped. She turned and looked at Hane. Hane knew Krylia’s face well enough to know she was worried. ‘You know... you don’t have to come with me... I can take care of myself’ Krylia said softly.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœI know,’ Hane replied abruptly. ‘But if we’re going to die, we may as well die together.’ Hane knew Krylia didn’t like hearing about death, but he also knew it was as good a time as any to make sure she knew what they were getting themselves into. Krylia then sighed, and continued walking.
Neither of them spoke while moving along the deserted road, they were only capable of valuing the silence, as both knew it wouldn’t last. As Krylia led Hane through the castle grounds, Hane used the time to take a decent view of Dhampir’s Castle. As it stood in the moonlight, Hane noticed clouds looming above the main turret. Many of the trees surrounding it were dead; the only leaves were the black bats perching on the branches. He knew it looked eerie, and he knew it looked creepy; but Hane couldn’t decide if he was afraid or not. As of the present moment, he was focused on protecting Krylia and escaping.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœWe’re coming! We’re coming!’ yelled a distant voice. Hane and Krylia quickly turned to the direction of the voices. They noticed an angry mob of villagers were heading towards them. Some of the villagers had lit torches, others had muskets. In the flickering light he could see that every man, woman and child in the mob had blood dripping from their mouths. It didn’t even take Hane a second to realise that they had all become Vampires. ‘We’re coming to get you!’ the crowd yelled.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœOh, diddums...’ Hane said under his breath.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœIt’s funny how they all became what they couldn’t destroy.’ Krylia muttered.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœWe should probably start moving’. Hane took hold of Krylia’s hand, and the two sprinted into the woods. As Hane entered the woods, he reached into his supplies bag, grabbed a musket and handed it to Krylia. Krylia stared at Hane for a second.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœI don’t want to kill anyone’ Krylia said worried.
   Ã¢â‚¬ËœYou don’t have to’
Ã¢â‚¬ËœSo why are you giving this to me?’ Krylia asked.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœJust... don’t die.’ Krylia sighed and looked at Hane displeasingly. She didn’t believe in violence, she knew there were better ways to solve problems. But at the same time, she knew the demonic forces possessing the villagers wouldn’t struggle to kill her. With hesitation, she followed Hane; hoping she wouldn’t have to use the musket.
Hane and Krylia ran aimlessly through the forest. Hane could only see Dhampir’s Castle faintly through the canopy, but what he could see was enough to guide him there. They could both hear gunshots in the distance, which forced the couple to run faster. Hane knew it would be pointless to turn around and fight the villagers, as he was outnumbered.
His heart was beating rapidly as he dragged Krylia out of the villagers’ sight. As he dashed through the ghostly tree trunks, he realised a young boy had already seen them.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœThere! Over there!’ the boy bellowed as he pointed at Hane and Krylia. The young boy then hurried over to the couple and took hold of Krylia... it almost seemed like he was trying to chew through her neck. As Krylia tried to fight him off, Hane took Krylia’s musket and shot his head. The boy dropped to the ground with half a face. It was a horrible sight, but Hane knew he had to do it to protect Krylia. He hoped she knew that too.
Not saying anything, Krylia continued to run for her life as Hane reloaded the musket. He knew he didn’t have enough bullets to wipe out all of the villagers, so escaping was obviously a higher priority than molesting clueless townspeople. As Hane looked ahead, he was relieved to realise that Dhampir’s Castle was close, and he would only need to run for a little longer. Maybe they’ll escape after all, he thought.
To their dismay, Krylia tripped on a tree’s root, causing them both to fall to the ground. Krylia, as she screamed, struggled to remove her leg from the tree’s grip. Hane assisted her, but by the time they were both standing up, the horde of deranged villages were only several metres away. They were too tired to run, not that it would be any help anyway. Hane shot a few villagers, but there were far too many to pull off a decent attack.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœHane... what are we going to do?’ Krylia screamed.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœThere’s nothing we can do’ Hane replied. Hane felt Krylia grasp his hand, she was breathing heavily. Hane’s thoughts were everywhere. Hane was afraid; at the minute of his death, fear consumed him. Maybe he deserved to end his life at this point... maybe Hane deserved to go to Hell. But as he felt all of his thoughts sweeping through his mind, he decided to ignore everything.
Hane realised something vital on that split second before his death. He realised that he loved Krylia, and he was sure that she loved him. Hane wanted to spend eternity with her, but he knew that such a destiny would never take a place in his life. He knew there was still time to tell her before bullets, scythes and sickles were driven into his body, but his own cowardice pulled him back.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœWill I see you in heaven?’ Krylia asked.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœHeaven is only for angels’ Hane replied. Hane closed his eyes, hoping that death wouldn’t hurt. At that time, he felt strange. He had the feeling he had had before he burnt his village to ashes. Why was he feeling this way...? Hane heard gunshots, and Krylia’s final scream... at that, he knew she had died. Hane wasn’t depressed at this, as he knew his own death would come in short time.
As each devastating second passed, Hane asked himself ‘Am I dead yet?’... He then realised that he wasn’t dead. He opened his eyes. The first thing he noticed was that he wasn’t standing where he was when he had closed them. He could see the villagers in the distance... what had happened? Did the demons inside of Hane rescue him?
When the villagers had left the area, Hane sprinted back to where he should have been, and where he should have died. He wondered if Krylia had teleported too.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœKrylia! Krylia!’ he called. He then looked down. He wished he hadn’t. There, lying helplessly, was Krylia... covered in wounds and blood. Hane didn’t know how to feel. Should he be depressed? Should he feel suicidal? Should he feel vengeful? Hane didn’t feel anything. There was simply no emotion within his mind.
Hane was shaking; he was hoping that everything that had just happened wasn’t real. He was hoping that he wasn’t real. Hane sat by a nearby tree, still staring at Krylia’s bleeding, motionless body. As he looked beyond the selfless canopy, he saw the illuminating moon sweep through the night sky.
What was he to do now? During that night, Hane realised that his mission in life was to protect his best friend. Now that he had already failed, there were no goals... there was nothing left for Hane.
Ã¢â‚¬ËœKrylia...’ Hane whispered as he lay in the cold soil, amongst the befallen leaves, holding the cold, dead hand of his only love. As tears of despair ran over his shadowy face, he knew that the soul of Krylia had reached Heaven. But Hane was left in sorrow to believe that the demons inside of him would take him to the fiery depths of Hell. Knowing that he would never spend another second with Krylia, he whispered ‘Rest in peace’.

Uhh, okay, we've got 13 characters and we're going to need a certain number of characters so the brackets won't look retarded. If we have 16 characters, the brackets will look fine, and if we have 32, then it'll look fine too. I don't want any retarded numbers like 23. So we're going to need to aim for an even number. This way, there won't be any characters left out. So an even number, please.

So, the maximum number of characters for this competition is 32. Which means only 19 more (only). I'm going to leave the applications open until Thursday the 12th of July. The competition would likely begin the next day, or two days after that.

Bottom line: If you haven't submitted a character already, and you want to, do it now! And even if you don't want to, do it now! The end.

EDIT: Also, if we get an even number more than 16 (or even more than 32) then we'll be initiating a "Pre-Round" to determine which of the extra characters will make it into Round One. The characters participating in the Pre-Round will be determined randomly. It's all very exciting, no?

The Story of Gruffy and Chuffy

This is Gruffy:

This is Chuffy:

One day, Gruffy the Demon was enjoying his life in Hell. When suddenly, the Devil appeared and made an abnormal request.

Gruffy, in sadness, left Hell and went to Earth so he could torment souls.

Gruffy would possess people and make them look particularly terrifying.

One day, Chuffy was riding through town in his train.

Gruffy saw Chuffy, and decided to possess his train so he could run it off the rails.

But there was a problem -- Chuffy's train was inanimate! Gruffy could not escape.

Gruffy didn't learn to live with his new form, in fact he hated it. But he was a train, and there was nothing he could do about it.

Gruffy and Chuffy went on to have many adventures afterwards. But Gruffy still needs your help. You can help by voting for him in the Character Competition. Maybe if he gets enough votes and he wins, he'll be able to escape Chuffy's Train and accept the prize. Remember, it's up to you!

ZFGC Character Competition 2007 / An apology and a new rule.
« on: July 02, 2007, 07:24:56 am »
It seems a few of you have told me that I haven't been responding to your emails regarding posting your character. It seems my email account had been failing at some point, but it seems to be working now. If this is you, please email me again (unless I already told you you could post your character).

On another note, I came up with a way to make this competition more interesting. If the background of your character requires it, you can come up with more than one character for the competition. There has to be a main character though, and the other characters have to be minor and only there to assist in the storytelling. This makes it more of a "group" or a "pair", rather than a character. Kind of like the Ice Climbers from SSBM :). If any of the applicants would like to take advantage of this new rule, you may.

Thanks.

Entertainment / Why do you play games?
« on: July 02, 2007, 04:17:11 am »
Why do I play games? The same reason I got into games... I love leaving this world for a brief period of time so I can explore other worlds on my own. It's almost like a chance to get away for a while. When I was younger, the games I loved to death were Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Ocarina of Time. All of those three games are adventure games, and that's what I loved about them... Just being able to explore. Racing and fighting games are fun to, but the real reason I play games is just to go on an adventure. Graphics, blood and online fights don't matter so much -- just being able to see a world with a story that will keep me going until the end.

What about you?

UPDATE: Things have changed. The divisions, namely...
  • Snowstorm Division
  • Flood Division
  • Inferno Division
  • Thunder Division
Why have the divisions changed? That's because we have a certain someone helping us out for this competition! Let's just call him NeoG. ... No, that's too obvious let's go with N.Geo-x.

Btw, can you guys post here O__o?

Hello everyone. If you've been apart of ZFGC for some time, you should know we are unique in the sense that we hold a character competition every so often. 05's Character Comp saw InvaderLupus' The Wanderer take the gold. 06's comp had Limey's and Halu's Discuss win it's way to character victory. Now, in 2007, there will be another character competition. That's right, another one. This means all you characterizers out there will need to start firing up your imaginative... ness.

What is a Character Comp?

It's a comp for characters characterized by members. The characters compete against each other and the best one will win.

Will my character win?
It's possible. I can definitely tell you you won't win if you just submit a piece of cheese or a roasted chicken with eyes. It's best to submit something like a green dinosaur with interesting viewpoints or a happy potato that can also fly. There are a lot of ways to win the Character Comp, but you can't just "rock" your way through it. You have to have a rockin' character, too.

How do I come up with a character?
Just don't have a sucky imagination. Oh, and know how the internetz works too. Being cool on the internet is different to being cool in real life. Drugs won't help you here!

How will my character compete?
It's pretty simple... your character goes head-to-head with another character. The one with the most votes wins. There will be four divisions your character will be sorted into... you can't choose you division, so don't try that. Here are the divisions:
  • Kitchen Division
  • Darkness Division
  • Clones Division
  • We Don't Need No Education Division

How many applicants may enter?
I wanna get about 32-ish. If we get less, then there won't be a comp. loljk. Just make sure it's an even number!

When do applications close?
I don't know... A week or two? When we get enough characters I guess.

How do I enterz?
That's easy! You know how to email people right? Well, email your characters to hero.of.fire@gmail.com. From there, you'll need to include the following:
  • Your Forum Name
  • Your Character's Name
  • An image of your character (any format)
  • A description/story of your character

Things not to include:
  • Asking or bribing me to win.
  • The division you want to be in.

Do you think I should vote for Sol's character?
Right on!

Did you put that in your sig?
No, actually O___o.

Can Hoffy enter?
Yes, actually. Suck it.

Remember that Xbox 360 I bought that didn't work? Yeah, well, good news is, I got a new one. But, oh! As soon as I set it up and turn it on, I get the SAME FLOPPING SYSTEM ERROR. OH JUST FOMPING SWELL. Talk about bad luck, right?

So after hitting random walls and insulting my Xbox 360's mother, I decided to take out all the cords and plug everything back in. It worked. Diddly-dee. So I went along, not caring, playing the console for a couple hours. I come back a few hours later and discover that I get a system error again. And then it just starts acting really weird and it doesn't even turn on when I push the button. But, I kept trying and eventually I got it to work.

So you see my problem. Sometimes my 360 works, and sometimes it doesn't. Just like those old N64 cartridges except I've got nothing to blow.

I went and looked up a few things, and discovered that I could possibly counter this problem with an update. But the only way to get an update would be to connect to Xbox Live and pay for the sign-up. Which I don't want to do right now, because I don't even know if I'll be keeping this console.

I guess I may as well take it back to the store again and this time get my money back. It's a great console, but I don't want it if it's just going to go brain-dead randomly. The Wii would never do that to me >_>...

Entertainment / So my Xbox 360 is a fatty.
« on: June 18, 2007, 09:32:21 am »
Okay, it's my birthday, and I ended up getting an Xbox 360, as well as two games (DOA4 and Kameo... they were cheap). It's a great console, I love it.

But there's a problem! As soon as a booted up my console I got a System Error :(. After screaming and hitting a few things and investigating a bit, I discovered that my Hard Drive is causing me problems. The console works without it, and doesn't work with it. I looked on the site and it said to go on Xbox Live and download an update to fix it. But I can't download the update because I don't have a hard drive :(, so how the hell am I supposed to download an update?

So, I may have to replace the hard drive. Should I replace the hard drive, or should I replace the entire console? I'm not sure.

Oh, and one of the controllers doesn't work either. The four lights just keep flashing. Anyone know anything about that?

Thanks anyway.

EDIT: On a completely lighter note, I'm a proud owner of a Wii60 :).

Entertainment / What I think Wii developers should do.
« on: June 16, 2007, 11:26:50 pm »
The Problem
I'm noticing a trend. A pretty bad one, too. The Wii is getting non-mainstream games, unsuccessful games, and games that are likely to be unsuccessful. This came to mind as soon as I heard that Soul Calibur 4 wouldn't be appearing on Wii, and would only show up on Xbox360 and PS3. But because Namco can't manage to have such a pretty game on a console that can't handle it, and because they need to have some Soul Calibur name on the Wii, they pull out a spin-off known as Soul Calibur Legends... which sounds alright, but can never be quite as good as the mainstream Soul Calibur games. The same seems to apply with Resident Evil 5 and Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles.

RE5 could have been on Wii. Soul Calibur 4 could have been on Wii. It's not the Wiimote that's stopping those games from showing up, it's simply the power of the console... it has nothing to boast over. "A little better than Xbox" won't get that console anywhere. In the end, if Soul Calibur 4 were to appear on all 3 consoles, it would be very much different on Wii, graphics-wise.

I could spend this post talking about how Nintendo could have added the extra horsepower to the Wii and still included the motion control (which they could have done), but I'm not entirely bothered about that. Because, even without the 1080p visuals, HD DVD playback, 120gb hard drive, 27000 USB ports, 3.2GHz processor, $1000 price tag and a decent online system, the Wii still has a lot to showcase for. But I'm sure you've already read about that stuff a billion times so I'll spare you the trouble of reading it again.

Taking that in, I do believe that the mind of the casual gamer will have Nintendo's Wii console place highly at the end of this generation. They could place first, or even second, or maybe even third. But in my belief, they won't be very far behind if they do place third. All casual gamers need is Wii Sports and eventually a Wii Sports 2, and the Wii is a definite winner. That said, the hardcore games have... nothing. Well, little to nothing. All we have is Nintendo's games. Smash. Mario. Metroid. Zelda. And then all of the other additions like Pikmin and Battalion Wars and Pilot Wings and F-Zero and !@#$%. And while that provides us with a library of about 20 decent games, there's no variety. It's just Nintendo, Nintendo, Nintendo.

Now, third-party developers have been supporting the Wii pretty well. There hasn't been any ground-breaking games, as such, but they're have been mildly okay games. The Godfather, Scarface, Sonic, SSX Blur, Banana Blitz. These games are alright, but they're not super-friggin-duper. More to the point, they're not games that are going to be viewed as highly as third-party games on the Xbox360 and PS3. Why? Because there's no real effort going into them, because the very same developers are in the process of designing triple A games on the other consoles. That's the problem. There's just no love.

Does this mean we're going to see third-party games as good as Resident Evil 4, or Baten Kaitos, Beyond Good & Evil, Eternal Darkness, Killer 7, Prince of Persia, Rogue Leader and Viewtiful Joe? Well, yeah. We could definitely see a game that is as good as or even better than any of those games. Games that are as good as last-generation games. Games that are being compared to last generation games. They are last-generation games. But therein lies the major problem. Developers are going to develop on Wii with the idea that they're developing on this familiar, dated hardware, with the added addition of motion-sensing controller. Why would there ever be a third-party, exclusive, AAA game on Wii, when the same third-party could possibly design that phenomenal game on a better console? With a game on a better console, with graphics that surpass any other, the game will likely stand out. If the same game were designed for Wii, the only aspect that would allow the game to stand out is the motion-sensing controls... Do you honestly believe that will make the game more attractive? I can't say I do.

The Solution
So what can be done? Casual gamers have already got their console. They'll be able to have the games that allow them to dress up their Miis, play sports, play with dogs and exercise their brain. For the hardcore games? I think third-party developers, and Nintendo, need to think about graphics. I know there's some part of them that says it's not about that, but hardcore gamers do care. Games like Brawl and Super Mario Galaxy are looking fantastic, but that's expected of Nintendo.

As for the other developers, I think they need to take a look at games like (you guessed it) Resident Evil 4. If the GameCube was capable of running a game with that much atmosphere, detail, texture and whatnot, then I'm sure with the "double power" or "one-and-a-half times power" of the Wii, we can have something a little prettier than RE4. Or even Shadow of the Colossus! God knows how much more powerful the Wii is over the PS2, I'm sure we can see a game that looks as good as SotC. I know it can be done, I just wait to see it. So really, developers don't have a lot of excuse when it comes to ugly games (except that they're lazy).

If not the pretty graphics, then why not focus on art style? In my eyes, Wind Waker is the most gorgeous game to ever land on a console, 'nuff said. That game was freaking beautiful, and the art style was very much appreciated amongst many of us. Or even games like Okami, we all know how much a gorgeous game that was. And that was on the PS2 as well. My point is, art style sometimes speaks so much louder than realistic graphics, and I'm sure that if developers decided to use a unique art style, games would go a lot easier on the hardcore gamers whom are also art buffs.

And my final solution, and the most intriguing (and risky) is to simply use 2D graphics. Nintendo have made it clear that they're not really competing with Sony or Microsoft, so why not go back to the most lovable console of all time, the Super Nintendo, and just develop a few games in 2D? I'm not talking about Wario Ware-2D, I'm talking about FFVI 2D. If you had amazingly detailed and gorgeous sprites, you'd have retro gamers in spasms. Why not develop a 2D RPG, Nintendo? That'll surely bring back some memories for those who cherished the SNES. And just think about how much content you could add into the game with so little focus on graphics? A lot. The game could go on forever if you wanted it to. There's nothing wrong with a 2D game on a 7th Generation console. In fact, I'd cherish such a game if it were well done. Or why not fuse 2D Sprites with amazing art style? And then when you bring the Wiimote into the equation... There's just so many possibilities to make the Wii a unique, or even "indie" console. Maybe this is what the Virtual Console is for, so who knows. I hope you see my point, though.

That's about all I have to say. If you read this entire post, you're pretty cool. Now if you'd excuse me, it's my birthday, and I'm going to pick up a 360. Cheers.

The Opera of the Fairy and the Menacing Pig.

Great Fairy Theme + Ganondorf Theme = The Opera of the Fairy and the Menacing Pig.

It was pure chance that I decided to combine these MIDIs. I was just testing with Noteworthy Composer and BAM. A theme that actually works.

Adventure of Link reference:

The Legend of Zelda reference:

Considering that other topic was old I figured I'd make this new one. I need some help, though... I'm missing an item for the background! Can somebody possibly find me a Trident, or a Bow & Arrow (or anything else you think would be suitable) with reasonable detail and resolution. Sorry to be pushy, I just kind of want to finish this, because I think I've done really well so far :P.

Entertainment / Staying for the credits.

Personally, I often stay after the credits in both games and movies... Just to listen to the music and see how much work was put into it. I don't usually watch television credits, though.

Entertainment / AoDC is awesome.
« on: April 16, 2007, 04:46:12 am »
All I had to do was ask once, and AoDC generously and surprisingly said yes. I was all like "... How much do I owe you?" and he's all like "None" and I'm all like, "Whoa, thanks O_o." And then I kept nagging him and nagging him to send it in the mail, and it's finally here!

Twilight Princess for GameCube!

Yes, I know I already own the Wii version, but well... I'm a Zelda fanboy and it's my duty to own all of the games. Plus, I got it for free, which rocks.

THANKYOU SO MUCH AODC YOU ROX.

Graphics / A mysterious villian I drew.
« on: April 11, 2007, 05:45:17 am »
I drew this during the last hour of the school term. It was Science, and my teacher was showing us a video of Doors playing Break on Through (to the other side). I was very confused by this, as one everyone else (I admit I sung along a little bit) but due to lack of doing something constructive, I drew this:

I know it's inspired by something I saw once, but I can't really point out what it is I was looking at. So I have no idea what it is inspired from, maybe you can figure that out. Oh, and I realize his right leg is a little funky.

C+C plx.

Entertainment / Pokemon D/P Wi-Fi Functions.
« on: April 10, 2007, 09:59:17 pm »
Quote from: Nintendo Press Release
With Friend Codes: If players are connected through Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection, they can trade or battle as they talk to their friends. They have to exchange their "Friend Code" with their friends first.

Without Friend Codes:
Global Trade Station (trading without Friend Codes): The Global Trade Station uses Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and allows players to trade Pokémon with others who have Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl anywhere in the world. They post Pokémon they want to trade on a board, and they can browse through Pokémon other players have posted without directly interacting with other players.

Battle Tower (battling without Friend Codes): The Battle Tower allows players to battle with seven Trainers who have registered their player data in the Wi-Fi Battle Dome. After players battle, they can then upload their data so that other Trainers can battle "them." The more players win, the higher their rank rises. Players can register where they live on a terrestrial globe called Geonet in the Global Trade Station. If players exchange data with players from other areas, their location will be registered on the Geonet as well.
So there you have it. If you have other people's friend codes, you can trade or battle with them in real-time. If you don't have their friend codes, you can still trade and battle with other player's parties, but you're not actually fighting with the other player, you're just battling a computer controlling their party... at least, I think that's what it means.

Well, Nintendo could have made it worse and made the game strictly friend codes.
