I'd prefer an anime adaption of Devil Survivor 1, because I simply liked its characters better, especially Amane. But it still looks pretty cool. Atlus's choices to let games get animated are kind of weird though. The same happened with P4. They could have let P3 get animated before instead of afterwards, but they didn't and are going to release P3's adaption this year. Maybe the same will happen to DS1 and an anime adaption will follow after DS2's.

This is the stuff that can bring metal lovers and dubstep lovers together:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-csfy8wXu7I" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-csfy8wXu7I</a>
.... maybe.

I usually like Dubstep and the Saw theme, but I don't like this one. Also, this isn't Metal.

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIGOzkqIQok" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aIGOzkqIQok</a>
That's some good Dubstep imo.

...and some Rule ⑨ of Children of Bodom:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RMLpt4eflM" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8RMLpt4eflM</a>
(How could we forget Children of Bodom, while listing Finnish Metal bands?)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeYLbMrR0lY" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HeYLbMrR0lY</a>

The second one is German and my favorite worship song :)

<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5yR7g_uYHg" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b5yR7g_uYHg</a><a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3wk4nNuvTA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A3wk4nNuvTA</a>
Do these count as "worship songs"?

I love Bad Apple. Both the song and the video are legendary...  :)
Alstroemeria Records is one of the better Touhou-Circles and this is one of their best arranges.
But the original Bad Apple!! theme from Touhou 4 is great, too. In fact, it's one of my favorite themes from the PC-98-series.

Alstroemeria's arrange of End of Daylight is great, too:
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdpH4g9TzXo" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gdpH4g9TzXo</a>

This one's original is one of my favorite themes, as well...
<a href="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SUHh_ZzaeA" target="_blank">http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7SUHh_ZzaeA</a>

...and the Midi-version:

Also, Meira was such a troll in TH2 stage 2... :)

Thanks Star! I thought he needed some feet and some 'oomph'. Also here's a new character:

Tucker actually speaks in ancient tongue, and Pea is his translator. I gave her that name because she's very small and green. she'd be about the size of a coke bottle. She's also cute to boot! :)

Reminds me somewhat of Pea from Ni no Kuni. There aren't many green-haired little girls with white clothes named Pea I guess...  XD
In fact, your Pea looks like a mixture of NnK's Pea and TLoZ:SS's Fi. I like the result, though.

In my case, this week is a Doom Metal week. Probably the most emotional music genre in existence...

If you like metal music and aren't afraid to listen to music in foreign language, I think you'll enjoy this one.
Thanks for sharing. Finnish Metal is really incredible. In fact, a lot of my favorite bands are Finnish, e.g. Ensiferum, Eternal Tears of Sorrow, Whispered and Dark the Suns.
One day, I'm going to learn the Finnish language. :)
Ahh, if you haven't already, you should listen to Wintersun's "Time I" album. Really incredible stuff also

+1 on this. I think it's my favorite album of all time. Can't wait until Time II comes out!

Equally, you should check out Tyr. I f'in love Tyr.

Well, of course I like Wintersun and Týr. I just found them too obvious to be mentioned and the latter one isn't even Finnish.
There probably aren't many well-known Scandinavian Metal bands I don't know... XD

I've heard of those rumors, but  I don't think that  BK for the 3DS is very likely -even if there were talks with Rare and Retro.
In the end it is Microsoft's decision. Even if Rare and Retro wanted there to be BK games/ports/remakes for the 3DS: Microsoft must confirm it. Of course, there is a very slight chance that Microsoft would do so, because they don't have a handheld console yet. However, the last two games from Rare to be released on a Nintendo handheld were Diddy Kong Racing in 2007, because Nintendo still owns the part of Rare responsible for Diddy Kong, and Viva Piñata DS in 2008. I don't know how they got latter on the DS, but it probably has something to do with THQ being the publisher. So we haven't seen any Rare game on a Nintendo console in four years. :/

I think a Donkey Kong 64 remake should be possible, though... Nintendo should still have the rights to make a 3DS port/remake.
And if today's Rare has really lost interest in BK, a reclamation of it wouldn't be so unlikely.

1) Banjo-Kazooie: Hands down; one of the most entertaining, addicting, and challenging games of all time in my opinion. Seeing this on the Nintendo 3DS would keep me going for hours on end each day! Such a memorable game :)

And, since I mentioned Banjo Kazooie, I might as well mention the sequel:

2) Banjo-Tooie: Even though I, as well as many others, love the first installment the most, this sequel was phenomenal and memorable. With the challenges this game had, this definitely would go interesting to see return......with interesting additional challenges, etc.
This. Unfortunately, it's rather unlikely. Banjo-Kazooie is owned by Microsoft, the whole original team of BK already left Rare after their transfer to Microsoft and the new Rare chose to abandon the Banjo-Kazooie franchise in favor of the "more successful" Kinect franchise. BK is finished. Microsoft already lost interest in it and Nintendo won't be able to reclaim it. That's really sad. Now we get merely mediocre 3D Jump'n'Runs from Nintendo, like Super Mario Galaxy, that are praised as some of the best games of all time, even though they suck compared to BK. I really miss the good old Rareware. If Nintendo hadn't sold it we would still be playing Banjo Threeie(http://www.unseen64.net/2008/04/16/banjo-threeie-gamecube-tech-demo/) and Dinosaur Planet (http://www.unseen64.net/2008/04/04/dinosaur_planet_n64/)...  etc.
Nintendo should try to buy at least the Banjo-Kazooie franchise back. Microsoft doesn't need it anyway and we'd get the Remakes we are yearning for. And who knows, maybe some old Rareware members would even reunite and go back to Nintendo.   XD

Also, there are some 2D RPGs that deserve remakes, e.g. Chrono Trigger.
...and maybe some 2D Zelda games like ALttP. :)

Entertainment / Re: Anime recommendations?
« on: December 10, 2012, 11:47:28 pm »
Exactly.
Naruto, Bleach and the like spoil anime. These shows aren't as bad as some may say. Actually, they are even acceptable -that is as long as you don't watch the English dubbed versions, which are also excessively censored.  It's just that -because of these more popular, rather mediocre shows for the younger audience- people bias anime. There are also many fans of those shows who don't give other, much better animes a chance, which makes them even less liked. So, I wouldn't recommend such animes, especially if you haven't watched much anime yet. There are far superior animes out there. However, if you really like long animes of that type you should check out Fairy Tail. It's similar but done right.

Seconded. I ended up watching this because I tend to like anime that has magic, so the "Magica" part of the name caught my eye.
Puella Magi Madoka Magica is INCREDIBLE. It's dark and very serious, which is not my usual watch, but this is totally an exception. This anime actually surprised me a couple times, which was refreshing.

Madoka was indeed one of the best animes of 2011; however, later that year, Steins;Gate and Fate/Zero surpassed it. Also, to my knowledge Madoka isn't available at Funimation and the like.

-Mirai Nikki

I loved it yet it got way to boring at the second half, it was such a big dissapointment.

Agreed. The anime had a lot of potential, but ended up being only a decent series...
Somehow it lost all its suspense and became indeed boring...
Also, they cut out the end of the Manga, which resulted in an frustrating ending. :/

It's also an anime I would recommend watching dubbed in English. It's one of the best dubs I've heard. Since it takes place in America, it fits well.

Good dubs are rare these days. There used to be good ones like this one, Cowboy Bebop's or Black Lagoon's... Latter is also the only English dub which exceeded the original  Japanese one I guess.
However, Funimation usually sucks at dubbing, especially nowadays. What they did to Steins;Gate is just ... shameful.
I don't get why they can't produce any good dub. Even video games like the Tales series have better ones.

It seems you prefer Mecha series, but there aren't any other good Mecha series available at Funimation except those you've already watched.
I don't know which kinds of Anime you like but here are some good ones available at Funimation:

-Steins;Gate
-Mushishi
-Samurai Champloo
-Basilisk
-Chobits
-Claymore
-Shikabane Hime
-Ergo Proxy
-Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Kai)
-Ga-Rei: Zero
-Guilty Crown
-Jigoku Shoujo
-Kaze no Stigma
-Rainbow
-Serial Experiments Lain
-Soul Eater
-Spice & Wolf
-Texhnolyze
-Mirai Nikki
-C

As for MANGAentertainment:
-Ghost in the Shell: SAC
-Chrono Crusade

Ergo Proxy, Texhnolyze, Jigoku Shoujo (aka. Hell Girl), Claymore and Rainbow are pretty serious.

Sorry, I was busy with school, but here's my try on the Armos:

I used a brighter color for the body in order to add more plasticity and decreased the amount of dithering.

And the big squid looks really great. You just have to add the big tentacles.  ;)

I'm going to pre-order OoT 3D when/if a pre-order bonus gets announced in the US.
I hope there will be a bonus, because there are some pretty awesome bonuses in other countries.  ;)

« on: May 20, 2011, 08:07:11 pm »
The Armos looks really awesome, but I think you used a little bit too much dithering on the top of its head and its body looks kind of plain, because you used only one color. Maybe you could add an even darker color or you could try changing the whole palette in order to get another darker color. But it already looks great.  ;)

In my opinion your original Armos sprites looked even better. I suppose you tried to merge your original sprites with the Armos from MC, right?
The Armos from MC only had the dark color on its sides. So, you could try using a slightly brighter color in the middle of your sprite.

The concept art looks really interesting. I can't wait to see some screenshots, especially because your MC styled sprites are awesome.

By the way, who is that mysterious person between Link and Princess Zelda and why does he look like Ganondorf?
Well, I suppose it's a male Gerudo. That's why he looks like Ganondorf, though it doesn't look like he's a villain.  :)
