Unless the "very bottom of the map" contains more ocean. Which makes sense, seeing that the beach is really the only thing that exists down there.

I was talking to my friend last night, and he was mentioning about how in 1980, he thought the internet would become this amazing place where people from across the world would share ideas. I was telling him about how this project [KOT] has worked, lurching along for years and drawn by different people from across the globe, and he thought it was beautiful. And he was right, it's awesome. :D

but the point is that you're simply just not supposed to see whats under the hud :p otherwise they wouldn't have made a solid bar for one. It's not intrinsic :P

I agree with Mamoru.  You could either make the background solid or use a constant texture, but the translucency isn't the best idea.  Think about how bad it would look in the dungeons.

lol, never thought so much discussion on my mock up would transpire. It's a mock-up fellas, it looks nice to me and serves no functionality.

Okay, what I said was ONLY A SUGGESTION. There are some people who could actually make such a transparency work...

Well, then in that case, let's mock the mock-up. ...Or even better, muck up the mock-up.

Update to this, I actually did this last week, but I haven't been able to touch it lately in lieu of the current contest we got going on here. It's almost done, I have a list of things I want to change and or fix. I figured I'd update to show this isn't dead. I may also do the dungeons, because I think that would be fun to do.

Not sure this is allowed considering it's necro-posting. However, the graphics rules says nothing about it so......

UPDATE! Yes, I'm not kidding. I was taking a break from GMLib, and I was looking through some of my old crap and realized I never finished this thing. Even though the Overworld was pretty close to being done. I also started a redo of Link himself, but never finished that. Well, they're now finished. Update on the first post. Yea. ::)

Wow! Looks pretty sweet! Especially the Mabe Village/Forest area :o
Though I still think the cliffs stand out somewhat as not fitting the style.  XD

For the occasion I just dug up my own Oracle of Ages/ALTTP conversion. I was far from done though. There are some ugly bits in this as well...

Oh yeah, I forgot about that post. :) I remember trying a bunch of alternatives, I forget why I decided not to bother with it though. I think it had to do with spacing and corners. I remember I wanted it to be a pretty faithful port, as in, it conformed to the exact dimensions of the original, with no extra tiles.
