For all interested in the project, or for those who need a reference to the game's elements. If you have any questions regarding this doc, post them here please.
6/4/12: Added "Denizens of Hyrule" section.
5/29/12: An update to the tutorial section has been made to the doc. Please download the newest version from below.

I downloaded the Doc, and I saw that it just had one boss: Ganondorf, and his characteristics aren't very detailed. Do you mind if I add some submission on the Bosses? Or is that it will just have one only boss. If it's that, sorry for the post.
-
No bosses have been planned except Gannondorf, and none have been developed yet.
-
So, can I make a submission for a boss, or not?
-
You can, if it's detailed enough, fits the theme, and uppermanagement likes it, it might be accepted.
-
Submit whatever boss designs you like, just keep them in line with what's posted in the boss needs thread.
-
Everything sounds good so far, I assume this is a 2D game? Will it use AlttP or FSA graphics? Sorry if this is the wrong place to ask, I just joined an hour ago.
-
2D, yes. Art style I believe is Minish Cap, you can check the graphics area to see some concept animations. Welcome to the forums, by the way!
-
^^ What GM said, and welcome to ZFGC! Typically introductions are done on the Community Speak board, but no harm no foul. I like your poem by the way. Did you write it yourself? You should also check out the Character Competition we have going on.

Thanks, and yes I did write it myself. Its actually a song. Read it while listening to Deku Palace. And what is the competition about?

That is pretty rad dude! In order to try to keep our Design Document Topic... On topic, I will just give you a link to the Contest Page. You can also ask questions about the contest there if you want to.

As you will read, the rules are quite simple. You can also look at other entries to get an idea of what to do.
-
Cool, well of you guys need help with perhaps... dungeon bosses or item locations Ill help with the ideas if I can.
-
Post whatever you like, there's no application process! Just follow what everyone else is doing, if something is wrong, we'll tell you :)
-
MG, You forgot to add the Overgrown Keese into the Design Doc.
-
Have you guys considered putting the design document onto Google Docs? I use it all the time, your whole team can edit the document at the same time, and you can make it so visitors can post comments. It's easier than downloading files over and over.
Good luck on this project, I've been looking at it for a while, it's about time I show some support!
-
Well.. we kinda do use Google Docs, but internally. The "updated" document is submitted via the forums. I honestly forget why we've decided to do this. It's a possibility we can open up the design document for the public to view. As for editing, that role would of course remain restricted for obvious reasons. Thoughts on this Steve?
-
The reason I did this is because then I have to keep adding people to the share list whenever someone wants it. This seemed easier because everyone with an account can access this.

Well all I'm asking is if it's possible to make it publicly viewable, not to do a full blown manually controlled list! Haha. You can have it restricted to be edited only by certain people and have it fully open to the public, ya know. ;p
-
Didn't know I could do that :) Done!
-
Seems we have solved yet another problem. XD
-
I support you all the way, I know I'll need help with my game as well since i have no programming ability... What all are you missing? I can do...
Boss ideas and battle strategy, Item acquisition quests, side quest rewards, sub character names, enemy strategies, item uses. Need any help with ideas and ill gladly help.
-
Check out the boards above. Each one has a "Needs list" thread. We need those things worked on :)
-
The link is not working.
-
Anyone else having a problem?
-
Works just fine here.
-
works fine on my end.
Also MG, the document is missing all of the enemies except, the bokoblin(You most likely didn't update it.)
-
Aware, I haven't updated it yet. Gonna start on that now.
-
Here in work is opening normal.
It's weird not open in my house.
-
Is this document incomplete? It seems like it's cut off after 5.2.
I really wanted to try and do an area such as Lake Hylia and/or a dungeon, but sadly I cannot see any of the information regarding it!
-
The info for the dungeons is made with their respected submission.
Also, Its good to look at the other submissions, and the acepted submissions before you make a submissin yourself, so you understand the overall format for something like that.
-
Sorry, but I'm not entirely sure what you mean when you say that the info for the dungeons is made with their respected submission. From what I've gathered, you mean that you're pretty much free to do as you please, as long as you keep the items that the player has/should have at the certain point in mind - i.e. I can design a place without having to look up any specifics other than what I just said, meaning that as long as I keep the storyline, acquired items and overworld design in mind I'm free to do as I please for the area I wish to try? Forgive me if I'm confusing, I'm not a native speaker.
-
He means that the dungeon info isnt in the document, its on the posts where dungeons are being requested. So look there before wasting time and requesting a dungeon, you could see one that you actually like, which could give you ideas or even be better than what you thought of. If neither of those thoughts occur, then you may decide to request a dungeon for an area that has few or no dungeons.
-
The document as you've stated is incomplete. The current phase of the project is to complete the document. Submissions that are accepted go towards the doc.
-
MG, Are you going to update soon the doc?
-
He just made an update on it yesterday. :P
-
But the last update says it ways the 4th of this month.
-
He updated the document yesterday.
-
So I just went through the doc. and I'm still wondering are the cogs like legit gear sort cogs? of are the looking like something else? Like do they look like the one I've inserted below. If so I may try a concept art for one.

-
Yes, they're gear cogs. But they should each be designed with the particular race that it belongs to in mind!
EDIT: Doc has been updated.

Oh I definitely was. And thank you for clearing that up
-
Just an fyi, I updated this today
-
Ninja'd me. I was going to do it but that's ok. :D Great job!
-
Locking this board because the Google Docs version of the document has now been deprecated in favor of the new one.
