 If you intend on trying this at least tell me you are capable of programming something please? not another person who so far has managed to make a walking engine using ALttP sprites in GM6 and already thinks they are capable of converting 3D to 2D? You wouldn't waste your time on that would you? WOULD YOU? *dies alittle inside*

Whats wrong with custom, conversions is just a way of avoiding that problem called "Being original"? the idea of playing TP in two dimensions kills kittens...it MURDERS kittens! Do you want that on your conscience??

This will never happen because TP's game mechanics (the physics, the puzzels, the levels themselves) are based in 3D. It just can't wor in 2D. but like Dayjo said, a guy can dream.

you guys always say that some games cant be done in 2D, for many people it really cant be done, but after the skill to make a game you need the right ideas, with the right ideas, even 3D puzzles can be done in 2D, no matter what you guys say

Ooh! I want to see how you've done the double clawshot? What about diving to the bottom of the lake? Can I see how you will do the upside down iron-boots things...
I'm not trying to be negative, I tried to redo oot when i first started zelda game making. But please be reasonible. You will never complete this. I will never complete this. It took nintendo 3-4 years with like a whole team of people to make this game (and millions of dollars too) and Im sorry but one person can't. Sorry buddy.
On the topic, make it in minish cap style. lol.

Well for the double clawshot one can just use an aiming device... like a red dot... and when you hit a target it will lock on... and as far as the bottom of the lake... 2d layering would solve this problem... so the surface would be 1 layer, the lake would be another and the bottom would be another... sort of like Alttp had multiple layers to its dungeons... and as far as the upside down iron boots... just flip the screen angle so that the floor is the cieling and reverse the controls.. easy solutions really

however it would be a very hard feat to accomplish... especially for an amateur game designer.  Id say that about the only person that would have some success with this project would be TRM, and hes busy with OoT2D

But we're not talking about someone with skill we're talking about an overambitious newbie who thinks these things happen by magic. He seriously thinks he can finish this by the end of the year, does that sound like someone who has any idea about programming videogames?

If anybody and I mean anybody manages to make TP2D before the end of this year or the end of any year prior to the new millennium I will personally post a public apology on every Zelda forum I can find. It wont happen.

delete this topic.Start your game.Make a demo till like dungeon 1 or something.Remake this topic and post the demo.Then MAYBE we may have a little faith in you.I meen thats what im doin with mine,but it seems that ill give in soon.A 2d-3d trans is hard work.Maybe trm was succesful because oot didnt take advantage of as much 3d crap as TP.If you dont know what i meen,play both simontaniously.Youll know what i meen.
