The program to make GBA games was made with Game Maker... it's not making a game for game boy With Game Maker. Cool still though, probably uses like a million dlls ^_^.
-
u cant make anything with it...
-
You can!
-
er...as Dayjo said, its DevKitAdv thats doing the actually compiling of the GBA game, its just the program thats been written in GM.
-
GameMaker was used to create the IDE/GUI, the actually compiling is done via devKit. Double check next time, HB.
-
You can!
tehres only 1 function -_-. and tat is to add an object.
-
I said it is still in beta stages.

I said it is still in beta stages.
It's not though... it's in Alpha stages.
Whatever its a great start.

I said it is still in beta stages.
and I said it cant make gba games.
-
No. You said "u cant make anything with it..." to be exact >_>

actually you can make "nothing". XD...

Jesus loves paradoxes.
But while we're on the subject of dairy products; Got Milk?
And for a final statement on the incrusted juices of abraham, I'd like to say that this project does look quite promising, to say it was made in Game Maker. I'll definatly check it out when it's made some progress.
-
It made already progress :P "Abraham said"
-
I'd like to say this project look's quite the opposite to promising.
1. If you're smart enough to program for the gba, then you're smart enough to know gm wasn't designed to make applications
2. gm hides most of its complexities by allowing people to operate on a much higher level without having to worry about the smaller, lower-level things, it can do this because computers are powerful enough to deal with these, the gba is not
3. he practically released a demo for a product that does "nothing"
4. ^^ if he had knowledge of any of the above he wouldn't be attempting this in the first place
-
lol true, or he'd make the program in a more suitable language such as C or Visual Basic.
-
Heh I did something like this a while ago, I wrote a simple programming language that got compiled to a gba rom, needless to say I got tired of it quickly. Because of that I have respect for anyone who attempts high-level software to make gba games, as its pretty dam hard. But as WWFan said, a GM style app really is not suited for it as there are far to many restrictions on the gba.
-
That is a really, really, crap program. They'd have such a better chance in BlitzMAX accompanied by MAXGui
-
Even if they finish this, I would not shame myself by making a gba rom, I'd prefer my own code compiled into an easy EXE.

well to that i would say:
1. most projects ( as you know ) never finish....
2. when its finishs then there will be more people who cant do their own code and want to make a game on gba using this
@"it cant do nothing": actually, it can make a stupid point in different colors... that is not nothing... that is "almost nothing" still i wouldnt call it "gamemaker" at this stage

If you read some of the post on the topic in the link, he said it was meant to see if the .gba files would run on other computers. Its obviously meant to do nothing but test out .gba files.
