Title: TLoZ: Curse of Archaia [DEC 4: New Info]
Post by: NickAVV on November 04, 2006, 12:31:59 am
The Legend
Long ago there was a land of peace and prosperity, with rolling green fields and high mountainous peaks. The land was known as Archaia, and it seemed that it would prosper for all of time. But it didn't. One day a cold wind was said to have passed over the land it everything vanished completely. Eons later a new nation called Hyrule began to grow on the same land that was once home to Archaia. The legacy of Archaia was long forgotten, but as of late strange occurrences have been stirring in Hyrule. A dark cloud swirls outward from the tallest tower of Hyrule Castle, covering the land with driving rain and lightning that threatens to destroy all life, and the King has become unreasonable, ordering the soldiers to take people from different villages and have them slaughtered in public for "disloyalty to the crown". One night a young man named Link who lives in the forest of Lon is awakened, so he ventures out into the pouring rain following a glimmer of light which leads him to the gates of Hyrule Castle...

I'll probably just stick with what I know (Flash, and I know it very well). Or I could try and muddle through the pain and tear-stricken lands on TNT-Basic. >_< Nah.

Have you tried Bochs (http://bochs.sourceforge.net/)? May as well.

Sounds interesting, anyway. And you really need to get a PC. I love Macs, but they just aren't any good for game development.

Kame: I have indeed tried Bochs, but years and years ago. I'm sure it's better now. And also, I am getting an Intel iMac for christmas, so that solves that problem (go bootcamp!)

Well, sweetness! I have to say, with all the new stuff Apple's been adding to their products, plus the features in Leopard, I'm seriously considering buying an iMac when I get a new computer.

Like I said, Big ol update. Screenshot, new story, some setting info, and more. I also have a little of the plot plotted out (no pun intended!) but only I and Moldrill know that stuff (he's my bro after all)

Pretty good so far. Are you going to change the screen resolution smaller or are you going to let it stay the same.

Is there something wrong with the res I chose? I thought it was a good size. Not huge like the 640 by 480 it starts with, but not as small as, say, a gameboy game.

Real zelda games use smaller resolutions, so some people like to use 'em on PC, too.I like to use 320 x 240 or 240 x 180 for my games.

Link is not a blond no matter how many times you repeat it. And I never said anything about people with blond hair. Just Link.

Link is blonde. Almost everyone has come to relate him to blonde. And besides, when Link had brown hair his sideburns were gay, not blonde hair.
Title: Re: TLoZ: Curse of Archaia [NOV 17: New Screen]
Post by: NickAVV on November 22, 2006, 11:56:27 am
Look Jack. You and Bboy seem to be the only ones with any problem with this. No matter how many times you say the word "blond" Link will still have brown hair. Even if I wanted to change it, it'd take me at least an hour just to go to every frame of Link animations and make his hair blonde.

Alright, just 'cause I want people to shut up since I like the look of this game:
And I don't here anyone bashing these games for their hair color. Besides, Moldy's using unadulterated (thank god) LTTP sprites, so Link has pink hair.

Wait... I didn't really catch that. Here's how I understand it: You think that hair is very important. You want me to keep it Pink. The you want me to make it whatever I want...? Then you have to have hair, so you're leaving...? >.> Sorry, could you rephrase that? ;D

Cool new screen, yet again I think it needs more filling, and way I also looked and the other ones, and in one of the screenshots it looks like link is throwing his sword? is he?
any way:)
cool luck

(o and a suggestion I would double post if I was you people dont normaly like it:S)

You're allowed to double post if you have new content. Anyways, again I forgot to fill up the new room with tiles. But I assure you, all the other rooms are less bare. And the sword thing is not him throwing it, but just a glitch that I'll fix when I get  chance, since it isn't too important.
