Zelda series is actually an inverted communist allegory. The first clue is that green is the opposite of red on the color spectrum.

It's intended to be ironic from Miyamoto's point of view, since actually instead of an equal society there is plenty of despotism. They show this example to you early on in OOT where fairies are indentured servants, enslaved by the green folk for their lifetime. You go to the Deku Tree under the guise that you are saving the rainforest, when in fact your actions kill your mother country's eldest tree. You decide to run away from home in an attempt to discover freedom, but ironically taking your enslaved fairy with you. An owl (another symbol of communism) stops you and bores you to tears with the same story again and again, representing the lack of importance of education in western societies.

When you finally escape the clutches of the communist owl, you are presented with an overwhelming feeling of freedom in a large field, only to stumble upon a family owned farm. The farm feels like a form of freedom as you gallivant about, trading chickens for milk, but a darker force is at play here. It may not be clear to you because you are a child, but there is a tyrant living in the farm ready to perform a bloody coup d'etat on the lazy farm owner in years to come. This is symbolic to the downfall of agriculture in the society especially following the wars in Eastern Europe involving "prodrazvyorstka", where the Bolsheviks confiscated grain and other agricultural produce leading to the socialist locked prices in attempt to equalize the playing field of those potentially growing more wealthy while having to do more work (laziness being a product of extreme wealth).

This is only the beginning. There are so many more references to communism in this terrible video game series that will blow your mind. You will not believe what the temple of time represents.
