[WIP] Tamarin Tag

Basically, Drills gave me a month off from Puppet Flight. Then Bluemonkey went complaining that Unity sucked and that I was afraid of online because I never made Zo3. If I don't finish it this month, I'm scheduled to complete it as soon as I finish Puppet Flight. SO HERE WE GO!

Single Player
You're a Tamarin. Explore a neat li'l forest with lots of cool graphics, sound effects, and the like.

Multiplayer
Get online. You and a friend are both Tamarins in the same forest area. One of you has a banana, and you play tag over it until you've each had x turns with the banana (where x can be set by the game creator). When it gets taken from you, you get stunned for a second so that the new player can get away. There's an in-game chat as well. When you finish, you see what the longest time you managed to hold onto the banana was, and you can submit it to a high-score table.

Haven't modeled the Tamarins yet, but I did finish the whole forest. Here's some shots. Note that the water in shot three has changed from the ugly colors in shot two.

hmm well IMO the graphics are amazing and everything but they seem way to realistic, but when I hear tamarin I see a chibi looking animal, and imagine a chibi cell shaded graphics.. dunno thats just me, I need to see a tamarin to give a good c+c

Ali, no, the tree is part of the Unitree user-created package on the Unity Wiki. The textures are ones that come built into Unity or that I got from Connor.

Kren, its strange that you think of Chibi Cel-shaded graphics when Tamarins are a real animal. o_O I was thinking sorta like this guy here:

Looks neat though I have to be a bit of a graphical nitpicker-

The water in shot 3 (I know you said it's improved since shot 2, so I'm not talking about that one) is too "blue" for a rainy, grey atmosphere- it stands out a little too much from the rest of the shot, and almost draws attention far too away from the forest itself

also, the textures need a tad bit of work; and it's not that they're not pretty and all, but they match a bit odd... Scaling on the ground path is far too big and as a result its much less crisp than the tree textures; causing a bit of a visual distraction. The grass also almost appears celshaded (though I know it's not), making it look layered between crisp texture (tree), cartoon texture (grass), and oversized blurry texture (path)

That being said, I think it might be a promising project ^_^ Though the texturing needs a tad bit of work

>_< erm I just realized I said "Nigpicker" and not "Nitpicker"; T and G should not be right next to eachother... What if I had tried to spell "Knitter"? :'(

The grass looks pretty nice, but how many polygons are you using on it?  Looks like way too many for such a small detail.

Each 10 or so blades of grass is one billboard. >.< I really need to scale back on that, because it runs not so well as of now.

Anyways

The grass is awesome, its great that it is a bunch of blades rather than a flat texture. I want more :D
