You can get it by battling an infected pokémon or capturing one, and it spreads to other pokémon in your party when you have one that's infected.  Finding an infected pokémon is less likely than finding a shiny pokémon.

Wow. I've only caught one shiny before. It was an "I" Unown. And, of course, red Gyarados. But that was relatively easy... the I Unown (which I named Igloo; I name all my Unown words that start with the letter they are) was the only one I caught randomly... Suffice it to say, I was surprised.

It does in Google Chrome and the Midnight Theme (although I don't think the theme would make the difference assuming it's just the colors and logo is what's different), but yeah, I'd say avoid using small fonts.


EDIT: Just checked, it's browsers, not themes.

Nice job! You got past one of the harder gym leaders for your chosen type... I'd save Brock for last or second last when you go through Kanto so you won't have too much trouble with him. By then, your Yanmega should be sufficiently leveled to handle him without any trouble. But that's what I would do... your game, your choice!

That's what I thought. So you'd need to be at a level to beat the E4, which is probably sufficient to beat Brock, since only Yanmega will be getting experience from those battles.

Beat the Elite Four today :) Walked into the thing with all Pokémon at level 44, but I guess that the Blastoise which had gained three levels by the time I got to fight Lance gave me the edge that allowed me to rock the Pokémon League without even having to resort to using saving/loading :D
