I think there already were a lot of topics about music, but at the moment there isn't one.

So, which is your favorite kind of music?
Which are your Top 5 favorite bands?
Which are your Top 5 favorite songs?

I will start:

My favorite kind of music is Metal, especially Black Metal and mixes with Hip Hop.
I also listen to Symphonic Death Metal and to Rock.
Furthermore I also like Hip Hop.
I know, my taste in music is wierd.

My Top 5 favorite bands:

1) System of a Down [also Serj Tankian and Scars on Broadway]
2) Linkin Park/Xero/Hybrid Theory [also Fort Minor] (basically LP before they made Minutes to Midnight)
3) Rammstein
4) Limp Bizkit
5) Dorn


My Top 5 favorite songs:

1) Chop Suey! - by System of a Down
2) Sonne - by Rammstein
3) Blow me away - by Breaking Banjamin
4) Toxicity - by System of a Down
5) Mein Herz brennt - by Rammstein

Yeah, these are my current favorite songs. Though they will change every few days.  XD

I'm more into rock/soft rock/and the obscure songs that you'd never find anywhere. Other favorite bands include Skillet, Pillar, 3 Doors Down, 3 Days Grace, Thousand Foot Krutch, etc.

In my Ipod I have absolutely no order to the music, there's some of everything, but mostly what's listed above, plus rediculously odd songs.

Country - Chuck Wicks, Big & Rich, Rascall Flats; Anything by Mindless Selfindulgance (Shut me up!!!!).
Lots of stuff basically.

I've also been listening to a lot of guitar virtuoso stuff from Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Buckethead and Yangwee Malmsteen. I also found interest in the guitarist Orianthi as well.

I, too, am into metal. However, my favorite sub-genre would have to be Folk/Viking metal. I am also heavily into Melodic Death, Power, Symphonic, Progressive, and more. I know you probably wouldn't want my life story, but I started at Nu-metal, branched to Death/Black, then eventually got to Folk.

My Top 10 favorite bands:

1) In Flames
2) Ensiferum (I'm more of a Jari fan, but Petri's pretty cool guy I guess)
3) Finntroll
4) Tyr
5) Eluveitie
6) Dark Tranquility
7) Korpiklaani
8) Wintersun (I am leaving Link with sunglasses due to the name of this band).
9) Sonata Arctica
10) Suidakra

I had to put top 10 because I have way too many favorites. Tyr got me into the whole folk metal genre, and I'll always love them for it. In Flames will always stay at the top in my heart, due to always getting me through hard times. "Starforsaken" is a song by In Flames (just a little tidbit!).

I am a diehard metal fan. Although my Top 10 is infiltrated with Folk/Viking currently, I will always have a place in my heart for System of a Down and Scars on Broadway. I love those guys; they are the sole reason why I'm so into metal.

^Pretty much this for me, except I'm a big fan of grunge. A lot of Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Pearl Jam. Post grunge is pretty sweet too.

Well, it changes roughly every 2-3 weeks, but here is what I like atm:

Favorite kind of music?
Anything with lots of bass and good drums. Usually stuff that can be danced to, or headbanged to. I like crazy-intense-awesome-powerpulse music. I like fun music. Every once in a while I will listen to girly songs... because I'm just that much of a man! ^,^

I will start:

My favorite kind of music is Pop/Punk, bascially bands that grew up listening to Blink 182  :P.
I also listen to Hip Hop and all other kinds of rock ranging from the aforementioned pop/punk to heavy metal.
I also have a thing for really catchy pop music.

Sadly, I, The Catalyst Fire, have been a WIP for a long while. Trying to find the sound I like and learning about home recording has been a long journey. All I have to show for it are extremely old recordings and the only ones that "would've" been good enough to show off have clipping issues because I was recording with a $10 mic and I didn't know what the heck I was doing anyway.

Of course there is my latest work which I have already released on these forums as a song sample (not a full song and no lyrics). The song sample is accompanied by a video that features me performing some rather ridiculous dancing... or is it dancing?

Just for the heck of it, I have attached 2 songs, both incomplete:
(sorry, only ZFGC members)
  • "Manly Pink"
    This (attached below) was pretty much just made so I can remember how the song will be arranged, sung, and played. I made this quite a while back, so I think it's a little too simple of a song nowadays, but it is punk rock after all. It sounds better than a midi, but not by much, but it's only made to keep the plan of how the song should be recorded. The plan was to record it with an actual guitar and real vocals later on.
  • "Come On Strong"
    The best one I can give you at this moment is this sample (attached below), and yes, I know that it lacks panning and stuffs. Anyway, this is the best taste of what my music will probably sound like. Meaning, future music of mine is planned to be crunk/electro/pop, with crazy beats, electric distortion, and old-school videogame-inspired blips and blops. I guess my future music is going to be kinda like 3OH!3 (don't kill me plz!) but with a slight hard rock edge to it.

If all goes as planned, when Summer rolls around I will have my song about Monster Energy; possibly in the form of a manly music video! (I've been collecting mass amounts of Monster cans for the music video... huh WHAT!? -,O ! )

Oh also, I am my favorite band (artist, but meh), not because I have complete pro songs like signed bands do (because I don't), but I am my own favorite because I make music that I like and I love the feeling of hearing something of mine that sounds good to me, and it sounds good to me because I made it... yes yes, for shiz. ;p
