Well, I was messing around in The Elderscrolls Construction set (that comes with the game of the year edition of TES III: Morrowind) and I realized that with this incredibly open-ended software, it would be completely possible to create a remake of Ocarina of Time.  I began thinking that it would be quite a cool project.  Custom textures and models would probably be the hardest part about it, and for those, I could probably either just use some from the High Resolution texture repack and maybe some spruced up models from OoT itself, or just use the standard Morrowind textures and models.  It would defiantly be a worthwhile, though difficult project.  Anyone think it would be a cool idea?

I think it's a good idea, and that would make try Morrowind for sure...
However, as you stated it's indeed a difficult project - even without knowing how the Elderscrolls Construction thing works...
In case you are going to do this, I wish you the best of lucks. ^^

This is honestly an excelent Idea!  I haven't used it, but wouldn't Oblivion's Construction Set work better though?  I mean, it's basically a more advanced Morrowind, right?  I've used morrowind's Construction set, so yeah, I know it would be possible... I think it'd be really great if the game was expanded as well though... For example, if you could enter more houses, use more items, and have all sorts of new sidequests, this could end up being a really cool game.  I would use the graphics from morrowind, or maybe custom graphics, because there wouldn't be much of a point if you just ripped the graphics straight from OoT.

Why not make something original? Instead of OoT... which I am so sick of.

If you were to make something original, it would hardly even be zelda!  The difference is the gameplay/graphical style... If the difference is graphical style, gameplay, AND storyline, then why even bother calling it a zelda game?  I mean, yeah, he could just make an original game in morrowind...

I agree, what's the point of all of these OOT remakes? Each one's just a different style. Eventually people are going to get so sick of the OOT remakes that they grow sick of the real OOT :/

Throwing it into an Elder Scrolls style setting really wouldn't have any point at all, just a different way of making the same game, but with different gameplay ;/

There's such a double standard about religion in the modern world. Catholics can gather, wear white robes, and say "In nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti" and be considered normal.

But if my friends and I gather, wear black robes, and say  "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", we're considered cultists.

Well, yeah, but like I said, it was just an idea.  You DO see all these different OoT rips everywhere else, like that Halo Hyrule map, that Zelda RCT3 map thing, etc...  Anyway, regardless of the story, I think an Origanal game using the Morowind engine would be freaking sweet.

BTW: For those interested, there is a totally awesome full conversion for Morrowind found here:
Sword of Perithia
a completely new game built in the construction set by a fan.  Quite awesome

It'd be nice, but why don't you think up a totally new Zelda game instead of OoT? I myself have Morrowind TES, but the most I ever use it for is making my life easier when playing (e.g. 5000 gold in the first chest you encounter). Go for it. d(o.o)d

Why not use TES4:Oblivion.

The Oblivion game may be a let down compared to Morrowind (+ Mods), but the Engine and TESCS for it are friggen sweet :P Also the scripting is awesome.

Albeit it means you'd probably have to get voice actors, or use blank MP3s :P

Don't use Oblivion. Have you considered that not EVERYONE has a PC powerful enough to play it? Go with Morrowind, it's more accessible.

They are hacks for Oblivion that make it run on most PC's though :P I dunno if they'd work for a TC (Total Conversion)...

Oblivion is stabler than Morrowind :P

Anyway, your choice what you use, just consider all the options first :D

Like people have said here. I'd rather see it with Oblivion.

If you document everything you do/change someone could use that documentation later to get the same thing in the other game...
